I have a Nokia E72 and I am otherwise pleased with it, but when the phone is in the jeans pocket keypad often opens by itself. It is not nice at all
I would like to know is there any possibility to change the keys that lock opens. Is there even theoretical possibility to change those keys? Clearly left softkey - right softkey combination is not a good option for me

The feature already exists. However for locking the phone I could not find a way. Evenif I slide off the phone, the phone keypad is still active.
Before I was using samsung and this feature is default in samsung models and is very efficient. You just receive a call, slide open your phone or you browse the menus and when you slide off the phone, the phones keypad is locked! that's it.is there a way to apply such a feature for Nokia 2680s as well?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought an E71 in Oman, where I work and live, with an Arabic/English keyboard.There is so much squashed on each key (and the English bit was so small) that I have decided to change to an English only keyboard.I have done this at a cost of 15GBP whilst visiting Dubai.It works fine except that some of the keys do not now create on screen what is pressed on the keyboard.For example if i press the '?' or the 'Full stop' is not where it should be.In other words the phone still thinks that i have an Arabic / English keyboard and not an English only keyboard.Its like an American and UK 'PC' keyboard. The @ is located in different places for example.I believe that I need to change a setting or add some software.Can any one advise (simply) what I need to do to correct this issue if possible.links to software, instructions etc.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else had any problems with the Messager II / R560 as far as the keypad is concerned? My keypad has become iffy when I press certain keys. It happens mostly with the "T" key. Sometimes I'll press it and it won't register. Sometimes I'll press it and it won't register but then double the "T" the next time I hit it. It'll do this on some other keys around the "T" but mostly the T. I'm thinking it's a warranty issue. This started about a 1.5 months in to using it. I just wanted to get a feel for anyone else having this problem. I'm on Cricket...but I assume this is a problem with the MetroPCS version, too.

When a calendar event alarm surfaces on the touchscreen (new buttons in this firmware), if the keypad is locked, the touchscreen is unresponive when attempting to hit the STOP or SNOOZE button. Strangely, the calendar alarm recurs with the normal touchscreen message (old firmware) subsequently and is responsive to the buttons (despite a keypad lock). Please advise how I can eliminate one of the two repeat calendar alarms or make the new calendar alarm responsive to touch when my keypad is locked. I try to unlock the keypad and it does not work during this time.

I have a Curve 9330, running OS 6, and I have found a very annoying feature/bug, OR... When I am on an active call, the two possible methods to lock the keys (Mute button, "a" key) do NOT lock the keys.This is most annoying because... I have a bluetooth earpiece, and I am a big fan of using my cell phone "hands free". I can walk around, with my cell phone in my pocket, talking on the phone, moving from room to room, and doing things that might require 2 hands, etc.BUT, because of the feature/bug described above, I can NOT lock the keys once I'm on a call, so I cannot put the Curve in my pocket (or I'll start hitting keys inadvertently). Then, if I want to move, i have to take the Curve with me, so my bluetooth will stay in range. So now must walk around with the Curve in my hand - now I'm only "one-hand free." I cannot put dishes in the sink, or put on a pair of pants, or bring in groceries from the car, etc., etc., etc. - at least not easily.

For instance, if you get a voicemail and you tap on the icon the standard active call screen opens, but you then need to touch an icon to open up the dialer pad so you can interact with the voicemail system. Is there any setting that allows the dialer pad to open automatically when a call is made? Would be really great if this feature could be selective for certain numbers such as voicemail.

The phone is very easily unlocked accidentally as the unlock button sits on top of it, sticking out of the holster. I have even tried placing it upward down into the holster but it still easily unlocks through the holster.
What is the most efficient way to keep the the device locked for back pocket storage? I could set up a password, but as the number of bad password inputs is obviously limited, I also do not want to have accidental password input.
Is there a way to deactivate the unlock button on top and use a key combination instead? Or anything else?
I just upgraded OS5 on my 8520 but after upgrading I can't see keypad lock option anywhere. Before there was keypad lock icon in menu but its just vanished now and I even checked all the folders its nowhere. How can I get it back?
