Nokia Nseries :: 500 - Change Volume Without Physical Volume Keys?
Dec 26, 2012
My volume keys are broken and i cant change volume during calls and in music player. Is there way to change volume without physical volume keys? In radio app i touch screen and volume bar appear.
I have updared my 5800 from v2.1 to v5.0 now i have a problem with music player that i can't raise or low the volume from the volume keys when i press these keys nothing happen but these keys are working to zoom in and zoom out in camera ! and when i open music player it searches for music and podcasts and this search never end and when i go back to home screen music player still have the old view.
My iPhone 4 volume keys and silent/ringer keys are not working and it doesn't ring and vibrate when i get a call or text and neither the sound working when i use any app like games etc. but when i go to settings and change the ringtone then its ringing and the sound is working when i play music but there is a problem as well the headphone dock is not working.
My nokia 5130 xpressmusic increase(+) volume key is not working when the music player is active but when i go to my home screen where my wallpaper, clock, etc is placed and then when i use the up/increase volume key it works fine there. The volume does not increase in my music player. Pls help me as i am worried because my 5130 is brand new and i bought it 1 week back.
I find the call volume very low even in a quiet environment. If outside, I find it very difficult to hear what my clients have said. One fact business people love blackberry is because it has got good call and ringtone volume.N900's ringtone volume is good, but the call volume is just too low. (I have already used the side button to max the call volume, the strange thing is, 50% and 100% make very little difference...)
Bought Nokia 603 yesterday and im very pleased with it. however im having a problem with it searched for it and on internet and found nothing. 603's in call volume is way too low. i have set volume to max but still if i call someone or they call me earpiece (not headphone) volume is very low.
I have just recieved my new Bold and the side volume keys are not functioning... nothing happens when I touch them.Is there something I have to turn on for them to work?
I've bought a pair of bh-905i and it works very well with my N8! However, I can't control the volume from the phone! I'm sure the N8 has this BT profile as I can control the volume of another SE bluetooth headset via the N8.
I cannot change the music volume at all. If I try to change the volume with the buttons on the side of the phone as directed in the "how to" guide then nothing happens. The ringer volume changes, but the music does not.
I have tried to listen to music using my N8 with headphones but even with volume set to max it is still very low. Am I doing something wrong or is the output on this phone?
Not sure if theres a defect on my S2, or if they changed how the volume keys work from the S1, but on my S1, I could press the volume keys up or down and the ringer volume would change, from silent all the way up to loud.
But on my Storm2, the volume keys don't do anything. At first I thought the phone had a defect and the keys didnt work, but I installed QuickLaunch and I'm able to scroll through the QL menu using the volume keys. So the question is, can you guys control the ringer volume using the volume keys? Or do the volume keys not work that way on the S2?
N8 does not support changing a Bluetooth headset's volume via the phone's hardware controls and software buttons: There's no changes in volume until you reach the mute position. All volume control has to be done via the headset's hardware controls. Quite nagging if you e.g. like to decrease the volume of navigation instructions while driving with your headset on: Navigation voice hammers to your ears.
Has anyone else noticed that after you have shot a video while using the volume/zoom switch to zoom in and out that when you play back the video you can hear the clicking of the switch? If you use the slide zoom on screen, the microphone also picks up the noise from your finger moving across the screen using that method too. This is a major problem as you cannot hear what you have filmed when you play it back, when I took it back to the shop where I purchased it from to explain about it they checked all the other N8's in the shop and they too had the same fault. Come on Nokia you managed to be able to get it right on my old N95-00 without it making the clicking noises,so you must be able to sort it out on the N8, the videos at the moment are unwatchable as all you hear is click, click ,click where the zoom button has been pressed. I bought this phone mainly for the excellent camera/video but at the moment all I have is a very expensive touch screen phone
When I connect my 808, N8 or C6-01 (all running Belle) to a Play 360 speaker have noticed an inconsistency in the volume control function.Firstly let me make this easier to explain by pretending that the Belle devices all have 10 volume levels and the Play 360 speaker has 10 volume levels.Secondly I will explain how I expect the volume controls to work and indeed how it does work on my N95 and N97 (yes I've been very thorough with my testing!):When I set my phone (N95 or N97) volume to any number from 1 to 10 the speaker plays at exactly that volume level. If I increase or decrease the volume level on my phone (N95 or N97) then the volume level on the Play 360 speaker increases or decreses to match the phone's level.
When I adjust the volume level using the +/- buttons on the Play 360 speaker the phone (N95 or N97) volume level adjusts to match the change. So, no matter how I change the volume the phone and speaker are always in sync, e.g. 1=1, 2=2, 5=5, 10=10.Now we're getting to the problem...On my Belle devices, 808, N8 and C6-01 the volume levels only sync with the Play 360 when music is not playing. As soon as I play music the levels become independant of one another. For example: While the music is paused I can press the - button on the Play 360 to reduce the volume to level 1. I also do the same on my 808. So now both devices are at level 1. Remember, the music is currently paused. If I increase the volume on the Play 360 I see on the 808 screen that the volume increases there too.Same for decreasing volume too, both stay in sync as long as music is paused.
However, when I start the music playing and press +/- on the Play 360, although the ambient volume changes accordingly, the phone volume level remains the same. This means that even after I've got the Play 360 at max volume, I can then increase it further by using the volume control on the 808.What you end up with is 10 levels of volume on the Belle phone and ten levels of volume on the Play 360. As long as no music is playing they adjust together. When music plays they adjust independantly.
how to reduce volume when playing Bounce in games? This phone does not have a volume rocker and I can't see how to turn the sound down when I am in Bounce. It's very loud. The only thing I've been able to do is to set the phone to silent. Surely there is a way to adjust the volume when in games?
I've had my S5 for a year now. I noticed ever since the 5.0 upgrade that i got in April for my ATT S5 that I have been missing calls and texts due to my phone going into silent in my pocket because the dreaded volume keys are able to press themselves in my pocket even with the screen locked and off. I don't see an option to stop this behavior and to me it seems like an OBVIOUS place for there to be an option.
What can I do to stop this? Even worse sometimes it will click up to a high ringtone volume and go off when I am in a meeting at work.

Issue: After upgrading to version 4.6.0.282 the ring tone volume is very low, even when the profile setting has the tone set to High I often miss the call, I have tried turning on "Audio Boost" with no change, tried a hard re-boot, no change. Volume of calls are fine, it's the ring tones, I have the same ring tone in use as before the O/S upgrade so this hasn't changed, no other (new) apps have been installed, just the O/S upgraded. I can't find any sort of master volume control setting in any of the forums is there such a setting, how do I get the volumes back to normal?
My volume button broke! I can increase the volume of my music but i cant decrease it! What can I do?PS I listen to music a lot so i need the button to work?
I just noticed this today that when I'm playing a song on my phone, the volume buttons act as the media player as well switching to the next song. I would often try to increase or decrease the volume, and I realize I can't. I tried a battery pull hoping that would solve the issue. It's frustrating how a person can't hear music at all, and having no use of the volume buttons. I am still under my 30 day warranty, I'm considering taking it back and exchanging for a new one.
