Nokia Nseries :: Belle To Play 360 Volume Control Not In Sync?
Sep 24, 2012
When I connect my 808, N8 or C6-01 (all running Belle) to a Play 360 speaker have noticed an inconsistency in the volume control function.Firstly let me make this easier to explain by pretending that the Belle devices all have 10 volume levels and the Play 360 speaker has 10 volume levels.Secondly I will explain how I expect the volume controls to work and indeed how it does work on my N95 and N97 (yes I've been very thorough with my testing!):When I set my phone (N95 or N97) volume to any number from 1 to 10 the speaker plays at exactly that volume level. If I increase or decrease the volume level on my phone (N95 or N97) then the volume level on the Play 360 speaker increases or decreses to match the phone's level.
When I adjust the volume level using the +/- buttons on the Play 360 speaker the phone (N95 or N97) volume level adjusts to match the change. So, no matter how I change the volume the phone and speaker are always in sync, e.g. 1=1, 2=2, 5=5, 10=10.Now we're getting to the problem...On my Belle devices, 808, N8 and C6-01 the volume levels only sync with the Play 360 when music is not playing. As soon as I play music the levels become independant of one another. For example: While the music is paused I can press the - button on the Play 360 to reduce the volume to level 1. I also do the same on my 808. So now both devices are at level 1. Remember, the music is currently paused. If I increase the volume on the Play 360 I see on the 808 screen that the volume increases there too.Same for decreasing volume too, both stay in sync as long as music is paused.
However, when I start the music playing and press +/- on the Play 360, although the ambient volume changes accordingly, the phone volume level remains the same. This means that even after I've got the Play 360 at max volume, I can then increase it further by using the volume control on the 808.What you end up with is 10 levels of volume on the Belle phone and ten levels of volume on the Play 360. As long as no music is playing they adjust together. When music plays they adjust independantly.
how to reduce volume when playing Bounce in games? This phone does not have a volume rocker and I can't see how to turn the sound down when I am in Bounce. It's very loud. The only thing I've been able to do is to set the phone to silent. Surely there is a way to adjust the volume when in games?
My N8 could always sync music no problem before I changed to Belle. After the upgrade, Nokia Suite could not see any of the existing music on my phone even though it is still there & I can play it through the phone. I added some more music to the phone through the drag & drop function on Nokia suite & now when I try to sync, this isn't visible either. How to get Nokia Suite to see the music on my phone?
the mail app sucks on nokia belle ...it just stops synchronising on my n8 after sometime...let it be auto or manual sync, it just doesnt work...it was working on anna for me...i have tried everything also tried not using the ovi server for synching mails...still doesnt work .i am using the gmail id ....it only works for sometime after i reboot my phone...and then again stops.nokia need an update?
Can anyone tell me how to reduce volume when playing Bounce in games? This phone does not have a volume rocker and I can't see how to turn the sound down when I am in Bounce. It's very loud. The only thing I've been able to do is to set the phone to silent. Surely there is a way to adjust the volume when in games?
Why is Windows Phone having version 7.5 if it still can't set different volumes for music and notifications... When I listen to radio the volume setting of 1 is often loud enough, if I then put it in my pocket I mis all calls as it is not loud enough. If I set it back at level 25 I get woken up at night for incoming mails... BTW, why can't I even define (off-)peak synchronisation intervals for my mails?
Nokia Music doesn't have a equalizer and volume control setting of its own.May be in some of the Game apps they have their own music control and volume control like the Snowball Assault control for Lumia 920.So why can't Nokia Music have its own Equalizer and Volume control?
Is it possible that on the next firmware update, the volume control for the music and ring/message tone is separated?
Like when you're listening to music, when you press the volume rocker, it will set the volume just for the music and not the current volume setting of the message/ring tone?
My volume keys are broken and i cant change volume during calls and in music player. Is there way to change volume without physical volume keys? In radio app i touch screen and volume bar appear.
There is an annoying beep sound during calls and the volume control is automatically at the maximum. When I try to bring down the volume using the volume control switch on the side, the volume bar slides all the way to the very lowest and not in steps.I tried googling but I could not find anything. Can someone please suggest what to do?
Having been able to control my music via the supplied headset of my Music Express 5800 it has now stopped working. I can still hear perfectly well via it, but the volume control, stop, start of skip functions have now stopped. I'm not too sure the ability to answer the phone from it exists either. Can anyone tell me if this is due to the headset itself or if there's an option in the 5800 that I need to look at? If it's the latter I won't need to make a trip to the store.
I have a Nokia 500 belle with firmware 111.020.0067 limited edition by wolter, I want to play 2d or 3d hd games on it. But these games are installable on it without any error yet not working some of these also opened without running forward. If this cell is compatible with this kind of game then may be am missing some kinds of gaming tools.
The designers of the N8 left out a HUGE camera setting, and that is the ability to directly control the shutter speed.
Right now the N8 cannot do things my old Sony Ericsson C905 can do, and that is slow down the shutter speed to take long 1sec+ photos at night.
So, you will never be able to use a tripod and capture tail lights from cars like this effect. I hope this gets address with a software update. Nokia is crippling this Carl Zeiss optics with limitations.
Is there a way to control the amount of shutter speed/time while taking a photo with the 808?
I would like to do long exposures and also force the camera not to drop beneath certain shutter speeds while shooting. White 808 Pureview NAMBlack N8 NAMSilver N95-3 NAM
E73 running symbian etc. on T-mobile network. Used on an Wireless LAN for calls / web as well as regular cell, as per most people.
I found (looking from both PC-suite and via phone's application manager) that I had new installs of Fr0MA_0x2000E2FC, the Fr0MA_installer, MDM_Client, Media DS Plugin, MMS DS Plugin, PIPS Installer, etc. Never saw them earlier.
These are new to me, but web searches show they can be associated with digital rights. However, given potential power of the Apps from a remote site I was worried.
1. If I remove them is there any risk to phone use (i.e., if needed can I reinstall them).
2. Where are they likely to have recently appeared from (another app's support, malware, T-mobile or Nokia).
I Like to control my Nokia 5230 from my Netbook. So I found the software app Remote Professional. Yes its connects, and then it does nothing enymore. I get a white screen, and see no virtual Nokia Interface. ( I wrote 2 times to Remote Professional since I have a registred version. I did never get an answer))) Is there a decent software application wich provides this functionality without problems. I have an older WM 5 device, and that is more reliable than this Nokia Device, it misses however radio and max SD card space for 2 GB but the virtual PDA on my Netbook was running without problems.
Since updating to Belle, I am no longer able to use the dab radio app, which renders my £40 headset obsolete. Hopefully this app will be available again soon??
I want to know if Emails can now be saved in mass memory on N8 with Nokia Belle. Using the limited C: drive space is not an option as it gets full too fast.
I see TomTom has disappeared from the Nokia store...
The Nokia Maps app does pretty good nav but whereas e.g. TT will accept a postcode like CT16 2AB, Nokia Maps (or Drive as it is called; the Drive app shares the same database with the Maps app) accepts only CT162.
Today I tried to drive from Brighton (UK) to Biggin Hill Airport but Drive could not find Biggin Hill, which is weird. So I used an old Pocket/PC PDA with TT6 to get there. The Nokia apps did not show any roads/streets for a large area around the destination and on the way back it was about half an hour before I reached a map showing roads/streets. I deleted and reloaded the UK map (400MB) from Nokia and that fixed that bizzare issue, but having two ways to do the job is obviously desirable. And TT is a better app with a better database.
I have a nokia n8-00 with the product code of 059B663 and I have the latest nokia suite (3.6) Nokia Suite says everything is updated, i livein the philippines, they say nokia belle refresh is the latest here..
Changed to Belle on my N8 a few days ago and generally found it an improvement on Anna except for one major problem. I downloaded Skype from OVI and it opens properly etc.but does not allow me to enter my password etc. and then reverts to the main screen. I am with Vodafone UK.
Is there a good app to track Belle FP2 phones using GPS? I have Googled around and I can't find anything good and by good I am referring to an app that I can use to track my phone on a website (even when it's turned off, if possible) and it should also prevent uninstalling in case the phone is lost or stolen.
I checked the Software upate application in my Nokia N8 and it says N8-00 Device software - Use your PC to update So I downloaded the latest Nokia Suite 3.3 and I checked the updates available there and I did not get anything for Nokia Belle. I also checked my product code 0599330 in the Nokia Belle availability page and it says available.
I own a N8 for 1 and half years and very happy with it. I did not upgrade to Belle because I read lots of people that were not satisfied and wanted to go back to Anna. Problems I read in the forum in various discussions:1) Camera performance in low light has deteriorated, I love my N8 mainly because of the camera
2) Battery life is worse 3) Applications will be lost and I will need to reinstall them all , plus could never get back the Nokia ones I had free through offers 4) The useful and effective Nokia clock/calendar/profile switcher has been showed the door in favor of a Andoid-style clock 5) Widgets are worse or less effective: the email and music widgets are very big that I don't think I will be very happy wasting lots of space with no alternative. 6) Widgets do not change with theme, I have my nice Anna email/music and other widgets that gets transparent or just adapt to the Theme I choose, I haven't seen that on Belle. That ugly email widget for example is always the same , white on blue.
So basically I feel that I give up lots of useful and efficient features just in order to get a OS that is more fluid , has more homescreens and I can move the widgets and shortcuts around??
I have looked around the forum and there are still people not satisfied but most comments are now old.
