I have recently updated my phone manually to ICS and found out that 2 days ago,my SI (1253-8116) has been listed for the update..problem is,I flashed my firmware by downgrading it to .42 by using ftf I got somewhere in this forum..question is, will if effect anything as I am using other region and SI?
after using active for a month.i just noticed that the back button fails to respond sometimes it wont give any vibrations at all, except this every other keys and screen works perfectly at that time..and after few seconds the back button comes to respond...
I have an app, Activity Classifier, that uses the handset accelerometers to provide information on activities and total exercise. It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.
i cant call my phone when my xperia active go to lock screen mode...it looks like i've shut down my phone but i'm not...is any1 here can help me with this matter...i'll already update my phone 2 the latest software update via pc companion....and 1 other Q is y r my xperia active always restart at random period of time
yesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).
I'm the unfortunate owner of a (belgian, Mobistar) branded SK17i. The mobistar branding was not evident when I bought the phone, or I would not have bought anything but a generic BE phone. As of yet, there is still no update for my phone (still on .335).know the region code for Generic BE? I'd like to try my luck at editing build.prop and tricking SEUS into updating my phone to a non-branded firmware.Extra marks for pointing out where to find this information (it must be available on the web somewhere... only I couldn't find it)
my very own xperia active get a scratch on its screen. and it new, its 2 weeks after i brought it. Is there any way to replace the front cover on its screen.
When I woke up this morning my phone was turned off so I try to turn it on by holding the power button, it only flashes the LED (red) 3 times between short pauses, no vibrations then stays turned off.Next, I tried to plug the charger in then holding the power button. still the same symptoms as above.Lastly, I tried plugging the charger / connector to my laptop then plugging the phone in. When I did that, the red LED shows 1 blink on intervals as opposed from the 3 blinks above.I know I still have my warranty but I want at least try and fix it because I don't like going out on weekends (the days of the week where I get to rest) so I'd rather try a fix here at home.
After update to Android 4.0.4, i wanted to pair my hear rate monitor but i couldn't. No icon like in the last Android version and no ant+ menu in the system settings.
Each time i connect my mobile to the computer with the pc companion a message appears says "you have the latest update". and my sales item (SI) number is in the list. ?
My family owns two Xperia Active phones. One of them has suddently stopped charging - when the charger is plugged in the phone shows no sign of receiving external power, the battery just fades out and dies. The fault is almost surely in the phone, as both batteries and chargers work fine in the other phone. Firmware has been updated.
How many different SIs does the Sony Xperia Active have? I have been waiting for months for the ICS upgrade but still nothing has come? According to this disussion thread url... it seems that some of the SIs on the list is getting the next update (.587) while mine still does not have the 1st update? Will my SI ever get an ICS update? It doesn't seem that Sony is adding new SIs to this list.
Other people say they cant hear me, that im quiet. I did microphone test and yes the voice is quite, but other sounds like wind or touch is double the volume of my voice, i had this problem earlier, but it dissapeared after vacuming the mic, but now it appeared again. Is there any way i can boost mic volume. Phone aint phone if im unhearable. I dont understand why the mic is located so deep, the hole is big and nice place for dust to sit in. And dont tell me to repair the phone through pcc or sus, u know it aint gona work.Just blowed hard in it, i think it got better but still i know its gona f up soon anyway cuz of failure design. So my question is there a way to boost mic volume, any app or something.
With my E71x whenever I activate the driving directions after about 30 seconds I get an error that says "Not available in your country/region" and it goes back to the map. I'm using version 3.01 of nokia maps because 3.03 kept telling me I had no access to install it.
I did the update to 4.0.2.A.0.42 yesterday, not sure what I was on before.I am now having gps issues, I get an inital fix OK but I am not getting continuas updates. It's not a bug in my IpBike App I am seeing the same behaivure with the standard google maps app and a couple of other apps I have tried.I have also checked my app on an old X8 and it's working ok there still.I have done a restart of the phone but that made no difference. The GPS itself is working OK, if I start and stop the mapping apps they get a good quick inital fix but they don't contunue to get updates.Looking in the Logcat there is nothing obviously wrong. Is there any way of going back to the previous software version?
This morning there was an software update on my xperia active, i clicked ok and it failed to download a couple of times, i figured maybe because i was downloading via wi-fi. i finaly downloaded it and then when finished it started to instal. after that my phone went into a "coma" it is non responsive, the only two vague signs of life is when i conected it to my PC and the little green light on the upper left of the screen lite up. but then the PC keeps making the plug-in plug-out sound and nothing happends, the other is when i press the on button on the phone that same green light flashes for a spit of a second and does not show up again. i've downloade SEUS and PCC tried to up date in both of them to update first and then to original setting and nothing, also tried the rapair, under softwear updates and nothing it takes for ever and and twice frozze in mid process.
i brought a xperia active 2 days ago,but haveing issues connecting a sd card to it (the original supplied in phone, plus 2 others...) have tried reseting(return to factory, loose all data reset aswell), restarting and what not but dont know what else to do?
The accelerometer on my phone is misaligned. I started to notice this when I played Need For Speed Shift. When I hold my phone upright, the car would slowly veer to the right. I need to calibrate / re-calibrate my acclerometer so that I can fix this annoying issue. On Samsung, there's a calibration option on the Settings. I can't find it on my phone.
It's been ten days since the last update on the topic of ics. I wanted to know if the update will be released today, however, have expired because the two-week trial that Sony had given for the update.
I have a cool ringtone after update to ICS 4,but after go to settings there no option to choose it again.Menu for ringtones shows "ringtone unknown".Where can find this ringtone and set it again?
I have 3 question: how many SI of Xperia Active are there??? al the SI will be updated to ICS or some SI (or nation) will bu out? what is the date of the la SI update (for Xperia Active)
When I plug my Xperia Mini Pro to the computer and synch it with the PC companion; it tells me there is a update ready to be downloaded to the phone. When I follow step, ie read the changes etc then proceed to dowmload update; it oes all fine to star with nd it starts downloading then all of the sudden it "jumps" ahead and goes over to error message to say "Error in dowloading". I have tried alot of times so it was not just a one off. I both rebooted computer & restarted the phones and tried again. Still same msg. The strange thing is it does with both the Mini Pro & the Active.
I am using an xperia active. Ever since the sony update to ICS i find that my fone is not accessing the entire ram. On adding the used and free spaces, i am having only 340 mb of ram as opposed to 512 in the specs. I used to have this figure before update and only after update did the problem begin..
I have a problem with the encoding of SMS messages. When I receive a message written in cyrillic it shows only some strange symbols and I cannot read it.I had a similar situation opening a text file (also written in cyrilics), but the OfficeSuite had an option to set the encoding (uniceode, windows-1251, etc.) and this fixed it. Is there any way to set the encoding of the phone's Messaging application?
I hadn't noticed until I needed the GPS to find myself in a town I was unfamiliar with. No location data at all.I now realize that this is the first time I have tried GPS since the update and repeated tries with GPS Test and Maps shows no location. GPS Test shows 8 satellites available and using - but no location at all. My Nexus 7 was 20 feet within seconds of turning it on.I tried the purge AGPS and several resets as suggested in some of the other Experia forums
