Apr 27, 2010I frequently have black screen when i receive a phone call when i am outdoors !? When i am indoors, this does not happen.Anybody else have the same problem ?

Nov 27, 2011When I first got my N8-00 I had no problems at all, until 6 months later I dropped it from a height of 2ft. Then I got all the problems, automatically turning off and restarting 100 times a day etc, etc. I took it to my phone supplier who replaced it with a new one, that had the new Anna software installed. Since then whenever I get or make calls the screen goes totally blank.
It is really annoying as I cannot see who is calling or if the call has gone through. I have to manually unlock the phone to attend the call. Also having problems answering the calls as sometimes I have to press the answer button 3-4 times. Finally now 3 months after having this phone it has started turning off and restarting automatically, but only about once a week, so far. I have all the latest Anna updates but these problems still persist.

Mar 11, 2010if i get a call and i use the keylock on the side of the phone I get a black screen and no functions i have to remove the battery to restart the phone v21.0.045 soft instaled I have noticed that this hapens during calls occasionaly too.

Sep 10, 2011its since about a month since I boght C7.It worked fine until i got this glitch.
The screen just goes blank sometimes when a call is incoming .I am not able to use the touch screen to attend the call and instead I have to use the push button below.
I tried switching off and on again, and also removing the battery and replacing it, but without success.for once or twice after restarting it may work fine but again it happens. could it be software problem or any interference from any apps that i downloaded?

May 16, 2012Sometimes, after a call ends, my screen stays black, not turned off, just black. The status bar stays on the top, as you can see in the image below.
I prepared the image in paint actually. You can clearly see the background of the status bar, normally there's black too.
When I press the home button, spotlight search appears. I have to press the lock button to solve the problem, this problem occurs very often..

Nov 28, 2011I thought that the X7 is supposed to use the proximity sensor to send the screen black during a call because it is next to your face. My phone automatically puts the screen black when I make a call, even if the phone is on the desk or held out in space. Either way, it is very rare for me to be able to convince the phone to bring the screen display back up, ( to do things like enter little things like pin codes ). I flip it around, hold it up to the lights, put it against something, take it away, press every part of the screen. Is there any way of setting the phone not to go black during a call?

Feb 21, 2015I love my G3 and have had no negative issues with the new Android, except for this one. When I receive a call, the bottom half of the screen is blank/black. I'm able to answer and end a call only because I know where the icons are, they still work but I just can't see them. Upon ending the call, the whole screen comes back. It's only on incoming calls that I've had this issue (although, I don't use too many apps so don't know if it's occurring elsewhere). I do not root my devices.

Mar 4, 2010I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads.What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?

I want the screen to turn on automatically with the incoming call dialer like kitkat or any other android version. so I can pick up the call.

Currently the touch screen works but there is a problem. I am unable to answer calls as the screen goes black and does not turn on again until the person has hung up or until i reset the phone. Also when i try to call out the screen turns black as well and exhibits the same symptoms as listed above.
From people who have had experience with cracked Nexus 5 screens, do you think replacing the digitizer + lcd will fix this issue or did i screw up something big

I can still receive calls and can hear that the phone is functioning normally (ie. I input all of my phone numbers in Outlook in the following format: (XXX) XXX-XXXX, but when I receive an incoming phone call on the home screen the numbers appear as XXXXXXXXXX (name is correct). When I look on the call log, they appear correctly and when I check my address book in the device, they appear correctly.I only sync one way - from Outlook to the Device. How do I get them to appear in the correct 10 digit phone number format with parentheses and hyphen?I had another Bold before this and had no issues with this at all. I am wondering if I need to use the Backup and Restore feature in the DTM to delete the address book completely and start again.
