View 8 RepliesI bought a new Nokia 5800 express music less than a week ago. Right from day one I got problems like auto reboot and mobile hang often. My phone came with software v 40.0.0.005. I took it to the showroom where I bought this phone and they advised me to update latest software and that will solve the issue. I updated to v 50.0.005. But within another one hour I ended up with same problem. I am seeing pink horizontal lines before reboot. It automatically reboots while messaging and when I try to do something with maps. It hangs often when I see any video file. I took it to nokia care again but they formatted my mobile and installed v 50.0.005 but am having the same problem again. How do I solve this issue. Is there any option to claim for a refund?? Any option to replace handset?? Preferably different model? I find lot of problem in using this phone which is not user friendly.

View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen you try to send a normal text message (not mms) it just sits in your outbox? - i have spoken to my service provider and they've ruled out its their network (which i already knew, as i tried my sim card in my husbands mobile and i was able to send txts no problems and we're with the same company and have the same phone).
I've updated the software and my service provider also sms'd me their set up details and it still refuses to send any messages - i can receive messages and i can send MMS (picture) messages, but normal txts just sit in my outbox. My service provider has said they think its an issue with my actual handset but as im one month out of their 12 month warranty cover, if i want it looked it at i have to pay for it , i havent done anything to it (ie dropped it etc) and it was working fine on thursday, the problem only started yesterday afternoon.
My 5800 randomly stopped sending text messages about 2 days ago. It has problems sending texts for a few hours before but would send them on the second or third try but now refuses to send no matter how many times I try. I'm able to do everything else (recieve and send calls, recieve texts and access the internet) I also put my sim card in my old phone and it can send texts so it must be my phone.

I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought Nokia 5800 in America. I'm originally from the middle east and I need to write in Arabic when I chat or send messages. the problem here is that the phone reads Arabic but I can't write in Arabic. my question is "Could I use firmware of Nokia 5800 (RM-356) on Nokia 5800 (RM-428)?
If not, could anyone help me and get me the firmware that support writing in Arabic?
I had the phone for 3 months couple of weeks ago started to reboot I reflashed and it was ok for couple of days but started to reboot again. I was told that this might be a hardware issue although I used the wrong OS for my first reflash and one of the guru's from this forum helped me choose the proper OS and I will try to reflash and if this will not solve rebooting issue I'll have to send it for service. This is a US phone and I'm the second owner, please let me know if I can still use the warranty on it. I'll be in US in couple of weeks.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 808 reboots itself randomly and without any user input. This happens every now and then. Sometimes goes a couple of days without problem, sometimes it restarts couple of times a day. This mornig, for example, I was using Maps and Public Transport apps to find my way to work. When I got to office, I put the phone avay for a few minutes and during that time it had restared itself, while being in my pocket and screen lock on. All I managed to see was the white dot animation, which is shown at early stages of the startup, followed by home screen icons loading one by one.Device had and still has no third party apps or background services running. In fact, only apps I had used recently were offical release versions made by Nokia and downloaded from Nokia Store.Nokia should really get their act together and improve software quality of the both firmware and utilites running on top of it.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI would like to share this problem i'm having with my lumia 800, and possibly see if someone has a solution to it.After buying this phone from Orange in France a few days ago, it has been making random reeboots 10 to 15 times a day. It could be when I'm writing a sms or using any app at any time, the phone just suddenly goes "au revoir" and reboots! Sometimes it does it twice or 3 times successivelyHard resetting the phone so far hasn't done any good...
View 19 Replies View RelatedI just bought Nokia e72 after researching online alot and was convinced that this is a great phone. I've been using it for couple of day now and overall I love it, but I do have one major issue. Every once in awhile it reboots itself, for no reason, then comes back to the standby screen. It does not seem to turn all the way off, but the screen goes black and I do see the word NOKIA on the background. This is very annoying. I have not noticed any patttern or certain thing I'm doing at the moment, just seems to be random. Does anyone have any idea what's causing it? Thanks in advance for any help / ideas.
View 5 Replies View RelatedTried a few searches, but didn't find anything specific to the subject.Received my Lumia 920 last night, and since then it has either hung or rebooted randomly over a dozen times. It seems to happen mostly when navigating through screens or accessing apps. It will sit and stream music from the Nokia Music service fine... I have to perform a reset to recover the phone when it hangs.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a Lumia 920 today, and now have the problems described in the thread subject... Every few minutes while idle, the phone will power down and immediately power up again. This does render the phone useless to me.. When trying to shut it down to remove the SIM card I noticed I cannot even shut it off. It would instantly turn itself back on again.
Did anyone else notice this kind of behaviour from their Lumia 920 (or maybe other phones as well)? I was really looking forward to this device and this really ruins it for me
As above on o2 had it almost a month now, had a few freezes in the first week but were few and far between. In the last week or 2 though they have been getting progressively more and more and now in the last couple of days have also been joined by random reboots.
I haven't been able to trace them to any installed app as they happen completely randomly, it also seems to be independent of any connectivity setting. o2 will exchange the phone for me but I can't make it crash to prove to them its faulty, if indeed it is.. Have looked on the site but can't find anyone with similar problems or any indication of what it may be.
My Lumia 920 has issues disconnecting from voice calls when I hang up a fraction of a second after the person on the other line. I almost always get a call was dropped message. I had my phone reboot and get stuck on the Nokia splash screen once.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Pureview 808 has recently started doing random reboots, and showing a "system error" on every restart. I have carried out a *#7370# and reinstalled the full firmware image from Nokia Suite (twice) and am still getting the same issues. This occurs without doing any restore at all of previous files.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy N97 (RM-507) was running so well until this latest OTA firmware update. Now I keep getting random "rainbow" LED pattern reboots occuring at the rate of about 1-2 per day.I'm afraid that I'm going to have to "wipe" the phone memory (hard reset) and reinstall all my programs over again (for about the 10th time!).
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I call someone, people on the other end can't see my number. I checked the settings where you get 3 options. Send caller-ID, don't send caller-ID or let the network decide. Obviously "don't send" won't send it, but the other 2 options don't work either. If I select "yes" the other end still sees "private number".Is there any other option I'm overlooking?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy N86 has stopped sending sms, first of all it only happened a few times but now its happening all the time and as a result havnt been able to use my phone for the last couple of weeks just had the chance to come online to seek help, called O2 who said to try my SIM in another phone which I did and it worked alright so they said it must be a problem with the phone, have tried taking the battery out for over 24 hours tried having it switched off for days but its still not working. Basically what happens is: I send a message. The up arrow stays on the front screen and wont go away. The message gets stuck in the outbox saying it will resend every two mins (which it did to my sister a couple of weeks ago 30 times but came through to her as only half a message) so had to stop using it as sms weren't getting through at all but was still being charged for them being sent which I just didnt get, am confused and dont know what to do.

I have used an iPhone 4 since October 2010. My wife followed suit in Dec 2011. We used iMessage as standard without any issues, but recently my iPhone was put in the wash by mistake, so while I'm waiting for the insurance to replace it, I am using my sim in an old Nokia (6230 or something). The thing is, now when she tries to send me an SMS messgage it won't come through to the Nokia. Other peoples make it OK, even from other iPhones. It says it sent as SMS on her phone too.it may be worth mentioning I switched to the Nokia the same day my iPad arrived, I was "playing", as you do, and tried to message my wife's iPhone from it as I was at home on my wifi network. This worked fine but not what I need, so I switched off iMessage on the iPad and now messages from her phone won't reach the Nokia

I finally updated my E72-1 to 031.023. On the earlier version, I could not use my Mail for Exchange with my work e-mail (i.e. work server etc). it just didn't do anything after setup. In previous posts, people said after the update, it should work fine well, it doesn't. Its the same problem: After setup (with my IT guy) the MfE just doesn't load any messages. It just keeps on saying "No Messages". I have tried everything. So I have three questions:
1) When setting up the MfE, is there anything else I need to do i.e. register my work e-mail somewhere (which I did I think) or something?
2) The acces point Background: when set to "internet" it just doesn't work. It always says "Packet data not available" or "Connection not Available". The 'Internet' acces point "points" to the correct packet data set. When using the packet data set "manually", internet connects and works. Why is this so? Why can't I use my "internet" access point for connecting to the internet?
3)My third question is: For MfE, the access point is set to Internet. Could this be a problem? The only options I have is Internet, WAP services and Intranet. None of them "work".

View 3 Replies View RelatedOne thing I have noticed if you have friends with several phones with them. Let's say Bob has phone A he carries all the time, phone B for work and phone C for boasting. He sends a SMS to you from phone C (the phone he always forgets to his car or somewhere else). The message comes to your Lumia phone to the same conversation-line as all the other previous messages from him. You can't actually see from witch phone it came. You answer to it and he never responds, because you mistakenly sent it to the phone in a glove compartment.
