Nokia :: 5800 Auto Reboots Every Two Hours And Hangs Often
Jun 18, 2010I bought a new Nokia 5800 express music less than a week ago. Right from day one I got problems like auto reboot and mobile hang often. My phone came with software v 40.0.0.005. I took it to the showroom where I bought this phone and they advised me to update latest software and that will solve the issue. I updated to v 50.0.005. But within another one hour I ended up with same problem. I am seeing pink horizontal lines before reboot. It automatically reboots while messaging and when I try to do something with maps. It hangs often when I see any video file. I took it to nokia care again but they formatted my mobile and installed v 50.0.005 but am having the same problem again. How do I solve this issue.Is there any option to claim for a refund?? Any option to replace handset?? Preferably different model? I find lot of problem in using this phone which is not user friendly.

Jul 10, 2012My 808 reboots itself randomly and without any user input. This happens every now and then. Sometimes goes a couple of days without problem, sometimes it restarts couple of times a day. This mornig, for example, I was using Maps and Public Transport apps to find my way to work. When I got to office, I put the phone avay for a few minutes and during that time it had restared itself, while being in my pocket and screen lock on. All I managed to see was the white dot animation, which is shown at early stages of the startup, followed by home screen icons loading one by one.Device had and still has no third party apps or background services running. In fact, only apps I had used recently were offical release versions made by Nokia and downloaded from Nokia Store.Nokia should really get their act together and improve software quality of the both firmware and utilites running on top of it.

I'm at a loss for what to do. I need my phone. The only thing I can think that I have done within the last 24hrs with the phone is let the battery completely drain (which I have been told is good to do); battery was fully charged after.

Jun 3, 2012However the last few weeks, it's been cutting out, Crashing, freezes up. Boots up, goes to the White Screen and goe's black, doesn't come on for at least 5 minutes before it boots up.I've been trying to reload its software but unable to because the phone freezes up and cuts off. So i have no clue what to do at this point. It has little episodes where it spazzes out goes white and the screen flickers for 20 seconds and shuts off. Battery pulls have been tried to fix the issue but even that isn't even working.i'm a Blackberry Guru myself but i've never seen this issue ever before on my Curve 3G. The odd occasional crash maybe due to over load on the memory, but this is getting beyond a joke, i can't even boot it up for at least 10 minutes or even a minute after it boots up it goes like Hell is decending into the thing.
UPDATE: I'm also being informed i'm not the only one with this issue, a fair few blackberries have gone insane in my area. Like if a hacker is tapping into the software and destroying it inside out with a virus or something. < An idea but not accurate.

Jul 6, 2012Have had this phone for a couple of years - i haven't done anything recently that i think may cause this problem.Today a message comes up every few seconds asking me to select an accessory (headset/headphones/lineout/music stand) - it thinks i have something plugged into the audio socket. I do not! I have not used the audio jack for at least a year!I have rebooted it & taken the battery out. I've also reset to factory settings & reinstalled the software, but still i have this problem.In this state, the phone is not usable since this message constantly gets in the way.Earlier on today the problem was different, a symbol came up at top right meant a headset was connected (when the truth is it wasn't). This meant i couldn't use the phone to call people as we couldn't hear each other. After this, i changed some bits in the accessory settings & now i have the problem i described at the start of this message.

Jan 16, 2011My N8 is showing as full for the OS partition and loads of space available on the Mass Storage.The problem, is this rubbish phone stores all messages/emails etc on the OS partition.Then, when the OS partition is full, the phone constantly locks up and 9/10 times you need to wait for the battery too go flat so that you can reboot it !!! Then delete a few txts and carry on.

I could not understand the reason behind its malfunctioning as I was on a call and when I tried to hang up.It just choked and react nothing. When I wave my hand over the light sensor, phone lit up and shows me the same phone call screen with minutes and after few seconds it goes as if it is locked. I tried to take out the sim, tried turning it off..Used back switch 100 times but it did not reacted at all.If this is the way it is going to be...I would say Nokia is under water and struggling period will let them down to their certain end of corporation. I switched from iPhone and was very happy to purchase 920. Despite of other big issues I was holding back and was thinking to keep it as Microsoft will fix he bugs with new applications.

The first one charged up fine and did the NFC pair no problem, but the second unit seems to be having a problem.The second one just flashes the red led when it is in the cradle. The Led on the cradle is green. The red led on the ear piece turns off if I remove the charger, but just returns to flashing when I plug it back in. This has gone on for the past 5 hours. How do I get this unit reset? What does the flashing LED mean? Both units had very sparse information in the box and I can not find the user manual anywhere on the Nokia support site.

Aug 13, 2010I had the phone for 3 months couple of weeks ago started to reboot I reflashed and it was ok for couple of days but started to reboot again. I was told that this might be a hardware issue although I used the wrong OS for my first reflash and one of the guru's from this forum helped me choose the proper OS and I will try to reflash and if this will not solve rebooting issue I'll have to send it for service.This is a US phone and I'm the second owner, please let me know if I can still use the warranty on it. Mar 29, 2010Since Friday the screen of my N97 has been all over the place. I touch one part and it's unresponsive, I touch another and it does something that I didn't ask it to do.I figured out quite quickly that it was the screen calibration that had gone to **bleep** and although I had no clue as to why, I re-calibrated the screen.Success for a few hours then the same happened again.I re-calibrate the screen, everything works fine for a few hours then I have to do it all again.I've re-flashed, soft and hard reset and still it's the same.Had to resort to using my N95 at the moment until I find out if there is a solution or whether it is getting returned to Nokia under warranty.Any suggestions would be helpful.

After long conversation they agree to check it in their service labs.. Today I got it back, they told that the phone was reset to default settings and it works now as it have to work (on their opinion).All problems persist, phone may close one of the applications unexpectedly or simple restarts and closing all open applications.

Nokia :: E72 Reboots Itself And Comes Back In Standby Mode
Jul 3, 2010I just bought Nokia e72 after researching online alot and was convinced that this is a great phone. I've been using it for couple of day now and overall I love it, but I do have one major issue. Every once in awhile it reboots itself, for no reason, then comes back to the standby screen. It does not seem to turn all the way off, but the screen goes black and I do see the word NOKIA on the background. This is very annoying. I have not noticed any patttern or certain thing I'm doing at the moment, just seems to be random. Does anyone have any idea what's causing it? Thanks in advance for any help / ideas.

This does render the phone useless to me.. When trying to shut it down to remove the SIM card I noticed I cannot even shut it off. It would instantly turn itself back on again.
Did anyone else notice this kind of behaviour from their Lumia 920 (or maybe other phones as well)? I was really looking forward to this device and this really ruins it for me

Dec 30, 2012As above on o2 had it almost a month now, had a few freezes in the first week but were few and far between. In the last week or 2 though they have been getting progressively more and more and now in the last couple of days have also been joined by random reboots.
I haven't been able to trace them to any installed app as they happen completely randomly, it also seems to be independent of any connectivity setting. o2 will exchange the phone for me but I can't make it crash to prove to them its faulty, if indeed it is.. Have looked on the site but can't find anyone with similar problems or any indication of what it may be.
