Got a new 5230 Nuron a few weeks ago. So far: quite pleased with it. With one exception: I have set up 4 email addresses. I'd like to set them all to auto retrieval; but the phone only lets me set 2 with that option. If I select a 3rd it tells me "maximum amount of mailboxes already automatically retrieving e-mails". Is there a way around this?

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my 5800 phone has recently stopped retrieving emails from my IMAP inbox. No changes on the servet but I have recently installed the latest firmware 50.2.005 and all applications are up to date.
The problem is I go to inbox click on Connect and it says updating mailbox, sometimes it will download the new messages and sometimes I have to do it several times. Also the connection to the mailbox is immediately droppped. There is no "exiting will disconnect from mailbox" prompt when I exit so that shows that it is not connected. Then when I try to open a new or even an old message it connects and says updating mailbox and then sometimes the email application closes, sometimes it does not do anything and goes back to message list, sometimes it will show the message with no body and sometimes it shows an error saying could not display message. After trying several times sometimes I get to see the message content. Each time I try to open the email it attempts to connect to internet as it asks me which connection to use so it is evident the phone cannot maintain the connection open.
I have noted that after some firmware upgrade now I only have the option to download headers. Before I believe there was an option to download part of the body aswell.
when trying to delete a message from phone & server it tries to do it but finally just shows a red slash on the message icon. The message is not deleted from server either.
I tried selecting messages from memory card and phone memory and tried deleting the email account and setup from scratch but it is the same everytime.
I am using the default email client. The new Nokia email program is useless because it does not support secure connections which i need to use.
I set up a Gmail mailbox on my N86 phone using e-mail wizard (IMAP). It works fine in connecting to the Gmail, and send/receive e-mails. But my problem is with automatic retrieval; every time it wants to check my mailbox, it asks me to choose access point. That means automatically retrieval acts just like manual retrieval because if I am not there when it is trying to retrieve e-mails, it won't connect, so when I come to my phone, I just see a "Select connection" box giving me three options:
Search for WLAN Internet WAP services. My phone settings regarding to Access Point and Email configuration are as below:
Settings > Connection > Packet Data > Packet Data Connection > When Available
Settings > Connection > Destinations > Internet > 1 access point (default destination)
My access point setting says "Use access point = Automatically"
E-mail settings > Global settings : there is no configuration for access point or connection. The available options in this page:
1- Message list layout
2- Body text preview
3- Title dividers
4- Download notifications
E-mail settings > Mailbox settings:
Mailbox settings > My email address Mailbox name. My name Signature Advanced mailbox settings.
What to sync > Retrieve less than 2 KB Emails to retrieve IMAP4 folder path Folder subscriptions.
When to sync > Connection daysConnection hoursUpdate intervalRetrieve when abroad.
I listed my available settings because I noticed different options in different tutorials. Even my phone's manual has some different options than my phone. I didn't list WLAN options because I don't have any WLAN network. So to make it short, I want my phone to retrieve e-mails from my GMail account automatically, without asking me about connection and access point each time. BTW, my phone's web browser works fine, and makes connection when needed without asking me about the access point to use. I hope someone can suggest me a solution because I like this e-mail application in my new phone, but it is strange to me that it cannot use the default access point and always needs to ask me.
My E63 crashed after a software update last night. I seem to have recovered most stuff, but now can't access my emails from the Active Home Screen. It shows that new emails have arrived, but when I click on the icon - nothing happens. Just stays on the home screen. I can access emails by going Menu-Installations-email, but this is a bit of a faff!
Any ideas? I'm using the Nokia Messaging email for my Hotmail account. It all went smoothly for the last year....
I have been trying to reach an email setup on my N97 mini that I am happy with and so far have struggled and given up on the hopeless nokia email client, and am now having problems with setting destinations for automatic email retrieval. I have my internet destination set to prioritize to different wlans and then WAP. This is my default connection.
I have a gmail and a pop3 email account, set up for automatic retrieval, however they don't pull in any mail if the access point in use is set to default connection. If its set to WLAN, it works, if its set to contract WAP, it works, and if its set to default connection it works for manual connection but not automatic retrieval.
What makes it worse is I am sure it was set up and working last week? Any thoughts please? I am getting so frustrated with the error prone nature of email on this phone I am thinking of going back to my trusted N95 8GB.
For the past few days I noticed that my email E6 has been slowed to a crawl, when ever I get a new email and began to read it, its still retrieving. I never had that problem before once I receive the email I can open it instantly and begin reading.

The Help tells me to go to Messages > Options >Settings > Email > Email accounts and choose Options > New email account. But under Email accounts > Options there is no option New email account any more. Why is that?
I'm trying to set up my email accounts on my Nokia X6 but it's just not happening.I use the email set-up wizard and when I put in my email address and click "ok" it just keeps coming back with "unable to connect to server. It only allows me to have one single email account in my 808, and it ask for username and domain when I try to add an email account...it forces me to write something in one of those field to let me go on... I have Hotmail...and it do let me sync and find my hotmail account just with my address written with password...and if I write for ex. a "O" in the domain field...but why? And why does it onlt let me sync one account? In my old N8 I could synd how many emails accounts I wanted and I just needed to chooce which type of account I had for ex. Hotmail, Gmail or something else...and I could have two withdgets ontop of eachother with different email accont in them....how do I get that on this new 808??
Is there another program than the so called "Exchange Activesync" to down load and use...like the old N8īs email program. If I cant not have my two hotmails accounts synced in my 808 it is totally worseless for me!

I have managed to delete everything from it and have restored factory settings but my email is still showing in a bar across the home screen. I have tried for hours to cancel it but just cant figure out how. I clearly also need help using this forum as i just posted this in completely the wrong section then couldnt work out how to move it. Sorry if you have read it twice.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor no reason I can tell my email notification bar on my home screen has disappeared.I am left with just the shadowed bar where the text for the email count used to be. When I select this bar it flashes red as if I've selected it and I also get a select vibrate but nothing opens.I have tried switching off the notification in my home screen settings, and the good old turining the phone off and on again.

It installed Mail for Exchange and everything went smoothly. After a few minutes the Email widget on the Home screen disappeared. I uninstalled Mail for Exchange and Nokia Messaging but still won't appear again. I even setup an email account using the phones integrated client and still it doesn't show up. On the screen there's only an empty field, as wide as the screen, which changes it's color on click. Right now the only email app installed is Nokia Messaging.

However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?

for the last 2-3 days my E55 has been unable to retrieve messages in HTML and attachments will not download.When I request for retrieval, the retrieval task bar appears then the message completey disappears from the mailbox. It does not go to deleted items it simply disappears from the phone. Agonisingly and infuriating to say the least! I have twice called Nokia support who have now escalated the issue. They have reset the phone to factory settings and all software is as updated as can be. I have been all over the menu and e mail settings, both global and mailbox, and cannot see what could be causing the issue.My mail is POP3 with Blueyonder and is ok on my PC with XP Pro SP2 and also on my Notebook with Win 7 Ultimate. Both of these are configured to save copies on the server, however if the message is read first on the phone neither the PC nor Notebook can receive the message as Nokia only supports pull from the server.Why is this suddenly happening? I have had this phone for approximately 5 months now and it has never occured before this last week. Do you have any resolutions?

Please use the URL or link provided to you b your service provider." I did that and copy and pasted the link into the browser and it said the exact same thing. I then went to the settings> manage internet email and it says " We apologize, there was an error trying to access the service. Try again" The try again was a highlighted as a hyper link. When i clicked on that it took me to the Web2go website. the Browser, internet, and other apps seem to work fine. just not this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedToday I changed the passwords for my email accounts believeing them to be compromised.
My Blackberry then sent me messages to say it could no longer access those email accounts as you would expect. I tried to update the passwords on the BB but it continued to tell me the passwords were incorrect. I tried changing the email accounts to different passwords and tried to update the BB again. Still said passwords are invalid. Tried deleting the email accounts, rebooting and adding again. This time I receive an error which says "Blank password. Type a valid password" even though the field is not empty.
At a loss as to what to do now except create brand new email addresses or buy an iPhone.
I haven't been able to send email in quite a while. I can recieve but not send (iPhone 4 with most recent iOS), the error I recieve is "the connection to the outgoing server "mail.charter.net" [my correct server in Outlook] failed." .
