I have updated to the v50 firmware ( first time OTA - it crashed, second time through OVI desktop worked fine) but now my email accounts will not refresh as they cannot contact the server? also getting the occasional massive slow down when going to the main menu if I have any app (typically music) open in background.

View 39 Replies View RelatedI have Nokia 5800 and can't update the firmware, i tried using both NSU (latest version) and Ovi Suite (Latest version) on a Windows XP SP· OS, the problem seems to be that the OS don't recognize the phone when the phone shuts off in te middle of the update process, a bubble shows "new hardware found" an then "problem occurred trying to instal new hardware", it seems to be a driver issue but i have the latest installed and.
Every since I updated my phones firmware it locks up, how do I uninstall it and start as if the phone was new again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs soon as I updated phone to latest firmware, auto rotate stopped working. Previous firmware I had was v21. I made update through Nokia Ovi Suite. I tried several methods to restore auto rotate:
1. restore factory settings (soft reset)
2. unmark auto rotate, restart, mark auto rotate
3. removing battery for few minutes
4. finally tried hard reset
And auto rotate is still not working. Is there anything else that can be done to enable auto rotate again?
I just wanted to find out if the new firmware is worth the update. I am hearing many complaints about the update causing malfunctions. What are the new features that this new firmware offers. I'll really appreciate every reply.

I can seemingly use only one to send emails (receiving mail is not a problem), because whichever user name and password I input under the outgoing mail server settings automatically transfers to the other account's settings, rendering one useless for sending mail.

I set up a second email account and synched all my contacts not thinking that the handset would show them all twice. I found that you could show only one set but i had to go into options and do this every time i wanted to display only one set of contacts on the device. In the end this drove me nuts and i've since deleted one email account as it is rarely used for anything other than purchasing things over the internet. I thought that this would resolve the issue and the deleted account disappeared as you would expect but there is a hangover in the contacts lists where it still shows both sets of contacts and i can see the old gmail account is still there. I've rebooted the device and been through all the menus and the only place this old email account exists is in the contacts folder.
Ideally i would like both accounts on the handset and for it to only display one set of contacts from one account at any time while still synching both email accounts when any changes are made on the handset.
I'm trying to update form the Satio directly but I have some problems in the server settings.

I have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust updated to new firmware 51.0.006 (RM-356) Nokia 5800 and I dont know whether I am just thinking this but the phone seems faster now in operation (maybe with the firmware update it cleared cahes and whatnot maybe thats all it is) - one of the things that was supposed to be changed in the new firmware is browser changes, but I cannot seem to see any diffrerence the layout still looks the same to me. improved mail for exchange dont affect me because i dont use it, improved video call dont affect me because I dont use that, but they did list improved browser and improved performance so thats good anyway. Anyone else tried the new 51.0.006 (RM-356) yet?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to firmware v50.0.005.C01.01 but ever since I cannot get bluetooth to be on. Whenever I try to switch it on it just pops up with an "unable to perform bluetooth operation”. I did the three finger salute (hard reset) but no joy. Anyone know if there is perhaps some other setting that blocks bluetooth? Or is there some more technical way to find out what is failing?
