Nokia :: 5230 Why Only Two Email Accounts With Auto Retrieval?
Jul 21, 2010Got a new 5230 Nuron a few weeks ago. So far: quite pleased with it. With one exception: I have set up 4 email addresses. I'd like to set them all to auto retrieval; but the phone only lets me set 2 with that option. If I select a 3rd it tells me "maximum amount of mailboxes already automatically retrieving e-mails". Is there a way around this?

May 12, 2010I want to sell my 5230 as i have found i really dislike touchscreen phones. I have managed to delete everything from it and have restored factory settings but my email is still showing in a bar across the home screen. I have tried for hours to cancel it but just cant figure out how. I clearly also need help using this forum as i just posted this in completely the wrong section then couldnt work out how to move it. Jun 12, 2010I have approx 590 MP3 music tracks on my 5230 4gb memory card and I want to delete them all and start afresh. I have deleted the playlist but obviously my music is still there.I then tried to delete all my tracks by marking them all and then deleting but I got "general system error" message.Am trying to delete too many tracks at once, or is there a way of deleting them, or formatting my memory card to clear everything? I know I could take my card out and use a PC/card reader to clean but I didn't want to remove the card if possible. Is it possible or not please?

The Help tells me to go to Messages > Options >Settings > Email > Email accounts and choose Options > New email account. But under Email accounts > Options there is no option New email account any more. Why is that?

Jun 8, 2010I'm trying to set up my email accounts on my Nokia X6 but it's just not happening.I use the email set-up wizard and when I put in my email address and click "ok" it just keeps coming back with "unable to connect to server. Try again later" I've also tried by going into my Nokia Ovi Account settings and "verifying" my email account but no luck.This is the same for my yahoo mail and google mail.Any ideas?

It only allows me to have one single email account in my 808, and it ask for username and domain when I try to add an email account...it forces me to write something in one of those field to let me go on... I have Hotmail...and it do let me sync and find my hotmail account just with my address written with password...and if I write for ex. a "O" in the domain field...but why? And why does it onlt let me sync one account? In my old N8 I could synd how many emails accounts I wanted and I just needed to chooce which type of account I had for ex. Hotmail, Gmail or something else...and I could have two withdgets ontop of eachother with different email accont in them....how do I get that on this new 808??
Is there another program than the so called "Exchange Activesync" to down load and use...like the old N8´s email program. If I cant not have my two hotmails accounts synced in my 808 it is totally worseless for me!

Mar 17, 2010For no reason I can tell my email notification bar on my home screen has disappeared.I am left with just the shadowed bar where the text for the email count used to be. When I select this bar it flashes red as if I've selected it and I also get a select vibrate but nothing opens.I have tried switching off the notification in my home screen settings, and the good old turining the phone off and on again.

Feb 2, 2010I'm using he Nokia Messaging (email.nokia.com) application for push email. Yesterday I added an Exchange account from my company. It installed Mail for Exchange and everything went smoothly. After a few minutes the Email widget on the Home screen disappeared. I uninstalled Mail for Exchange and Nokia Messaging but still won't appear again. I even setup an email account using the phones integrated client and still it doesn't show up. On the screen there's only an empty field, as wide as the screen, which changes it's color on click. Right now the only email app installed is Nokia Messaging.

Messages - catchall for everything
Desktop email icon
2nd/personal email icon
However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?
