i'm having an issue with the cnn widget with the dropping tiles disappearing occasionally. if i long press where the widget should be, my xoom fe acts as if the widget was there and i can put it in the trash can and then put it back on the home-screen. i've also had bad luck with the similar Internet widget.

I've looked everywhere and can't seem how to turn this feature off. I have some personal photo's that I do not want on display when ever I whip my phone out in public. So how do you turn live tiles off for the "Photos" app.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm from Canada and I have the Xoom with Wifi only. I was able to connect to my home wifi network without problem and my signal strengh is like 75% so pretty good but when playing with the device (going on web, searching apps in the market, check weather, etc....anything that need to use my wifi to get to Internet, it happen often that even if I'm still connected, that it can't get to Internet anymore. At the begenning I was using the reboot option to fix this and then I saw that I can use the airplaone mode on and then off to drop connection and recreate it and then I just have to refresh the web page I am and it's working again. It can happen at ± 5 mins of Internet use.
I bring my xoom to my job and tested it and signal strengh is up the roof (router at my desk!), Internet is 10meg fiber and I get the same issue. I was gessing someone already reported this issue but I don't see it. Is it something known, what can I do to resolve this and is there a fix comming for that?
I have the Xoom 2 WiFi 3g 32GB and it constantly drops my home network wifi connection.
It scans, sees the SSID, connects, authenticates the encryption, then drops the connection, only to scan and reconnect again in a constant cycle.Wireless router is a Netcomm NP800n on latest firmware. Tried both WPA and WPA2, tried the Xoom with a static IP and tried rebooting both devices.Xoom is on Honeycomb 3.2.2, system version 0.268.4.MZ616.AsiaRetail.en.03 and wifi disconnect policy is set to never.
is there a way to easily toggle 3g data on or off rather that throughsettings/networks etc ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter cleaning up my download folder I notice that when I try to tap a email on the gmail widget the screen turns dark and just sits there. It will no longer open gmail and let me read the mail but if I open gmail using the app it works fine. I have also notice this with some of the downloads within the email app but not through the gallery.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning ICS on Xoom Wifi. When creating a photo gallery widget, and selecting a single image, then go to crop, it seems to freeze the tablet on Saving Picture... prompt. Touching the controls icons won't do anything, just blank screen.I have to wait for a few, then the launcher freeze popup saying wait/report/stop. When creating photo gallery widget from album or shuffle, it works. It just doesn't work with single image. The gmail one is working fine. Also the calender widget does not change dates until reboot. If all else fails Reset I guess but I am trying to avoid that. I have the app alarm clock extreme and the regular android alarm. During this time, neither will make any sound. The default alarm will vibrate, but alarm clock extreme will not - although it should. A soft reset will fix the problem. Additionally, my ringtones will not make any sound when someone is calling. I'm trying to remember how the behavior was this morning, but I feel like pressing the volume up and down keys while the alarm was going off first snoozed my alarm, but then beeped to let me know the volume level.

Sometimes my applications also gray out in my apps manager. A power cycle of my phone brings my applications back but the short cuts are still gone. I noticed the apps that disappear are ones that are stored on my SD card. It appears that going to mass storage mode disconnects the card from the phone disabling the apps and canceling the shortcuts. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening? I may want to move apps to my phone memory that I do not want to disappear all the time whew using mass storage mode. I never had this problem with my EVO and used mass storage often.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter the GB update, anytime that I mount/unmount the SD card, any icons that i have created dissapear from the home pages. This is only for apps that I moved to the SD card. I've tried rebooting, and no change. Any thoughts? BTW, I did a full wipe and reset after the GB installation.
With Froyo, if the card was unmounted, any app moved to the SD card, the shortcut icons were shown as generic with a gear icon. However, once mounted, the the app icon would be restored.
So I had music on my xoom but accidently deleted it. I tried going in my computer files to copy and paste songs from my itunes into my folder on xoom called music but says wrong format. I don't know what to do.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?

The only way to get it back is to turn airplane mode on then off.Also had my first reboot since before the update. View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the Charm late last week and this Tuesday, and Wednesday, it dropped one call each day. I had restarted the phone and even took the battery out, let it sit a minute, put it back in and restart. Today, after dropping a call, I called Tmobile for help. Ended up talking to a manager because the service person wouldn't help me. While on the phone with manager, phone dropped a call. He had me change the SIM card. I went to call hubby (we both got the Charm same day) to have him change his card also, got to voicemail, dropped call, tried Tmobile, half a ring, dropped call. Got to customer service, they switched me to Tier 2 tech support, he was about to give me directions and dropped call. He ended up leaving me a voicemail because he tried calling me back twice and both times it went straight to voicemail. Told me to change the settings from 3G to 2G. I've only used the phone around 15 minutes since switching to 2G but it didnt drop.
View 7 Replies View RelatedPlugged my Photon into my PC for the first time today, using the Phone Portal app (stock). As it popped up, it looked like any other Android/smartphone in that I could "see" it as a drive on my PC....look at/add/delete/manage data and folders.No biggie.But....Up pops the Motorola Media Link app for install on the PC (assuming the file to do so was on the phone and did this once it was connected to a computer). OK, so I install it to take a peek. Install was clean....it looked for and installed an upate of the Media Link app...and I saw that it was nothing more than a sync conduit for music/photos/etc.
Not wanting to sync anything, I simply "safely removed hardware" on the PC...unplugged and went to lunch. It was then that I noticed a bunch off icons missing from the home screens. My HTC Evo used to do that whenever you'd disconnect, because you'd been using the SD card as a drive. It would then re-initialize the card and poof, your icons would reappear. Not this one! They're gone-ski!They're still in the All Apps view....and certainly still on the phone/card because I can see them in settings>apps. If I look at the SD card view, they're all there.I did some rooting (sorry....snooping) around and found a few threads about this regarding Droid X, but none of the questions had been answeredI called Moto and they don't know what it is; "oh
