View 1 Replies View RelatedHad my Nokia N8 for about a year now, recently updated to Belle and I think it looks lovely but I've had so many problems since. Now this new one has started and I don't know if it's a bug that I can fix or not, randomly it loses the contact name associations when I open up the text message inbox. It just comes up with the phone numbers, the contacts are still there and when I reset the phone it goes back to normal.

In Gingerbread when the alarm went off it would dispaly the label on the screen.Are the ICS labels only displayed in the notification area? I could swear one time I did see the label appear over the large clock time on screen. I can't duplicate it though. See image.

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn previous droids and the Bionic you can create a home shortcut called 'gmail label' for each gmail account. On my razr this is not an option, only a generic gmail shortcut that forces me to keep switching between accounts. Why did Moto delete this feature? I tried the other email app and the widgets for 'scrolling inbox' or 'universal inbox' to see if maybe they would allow links to each account but they dont even work for gmail!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that then I use my Photon as a mass storage device to access the storage card I loose shortcuts on my screams. Sometimes my applications also gray out in my apps manager. A power cycle of my phone brings my applications back but the short cuts are still gone. I noticed the apps that disappear are ones that are stored on my SD card. It appears that going to mass storage mode disconnects the card from the phone disabling the apps and canceling the shortcuts. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening? I may want to move apps to my phone memory that I do not want to disappear all the time whew using mass storage mode. I never had this problem with my EVO and used mass storage often.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter the GB update, anytime that I mount/unmount the SD card, any icons that i have created dissapear from the home pages. This is only for apps that I moved to the SD card. I've tried rebooting, and no change. Any thoughts? BTW, I did a full wipe and reset after the GB installation.
With Froyo, if the card was unmounted, any app moved to the SD card, the shortcut icons were shown as generic with a gear icon. However, once mounted, the the app icon would be restored.
I have many contacts which have numbers saved under the same label.For example a contact like this:
First name: AMobile: 11Mobile: 22Telephone: 33Telephone: 44
When I open Ovi Suite / Contacts / Contacts in E51 and open the abovementioned contact "A" it shows:
AMobile: 11Telephone: 44Mobile (other): 22As you see it deleted one of "Telephone" labeled numbers. It also happened when I used PC suite.
It is really annoying as if I save/sync the contact using Ovi, it causes loss of contacts data.BTW there is no problem using Backup/Restore function of Ovi/PC suite, nor "Copy to memory card" function of the phone itself.

tested another one with 6 different numbers under the same "Mobile" label the result in Ovi is:

could people check there batteries in their BB's and check what the little sticker looks like. Mines purely White and someone tried to tell me it should have a little pink cross in it. Though from what I have found it should be all White and turns pink/red when it's exposed to to moisture.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPlugged my Photon into my PC for the first time today, using the Phone Portal app (stock). As it popped up, it looked like any other Android/smartphone in that I could "see" it as a drive on my PC....look at/add/delete/manage data and folders.No biggie.But....Up pops the Motorola Media Link app for install on the PC (assuming the file to do so was on the phone and did this once it was connected to a computer). OK, so I install it to take a peek. Install was clean....it looked for and installed an upate of the Media Link app...and I saw that it was nothing more than a sync conduit for music/photos/etc.
Not wanting to sync anything, I simply "safely removed hardware" on the PC...unplugged and went to lunch. It was then that I noticed a bunch off icons missing from the home screens. My HTC Evo used to do that whenever you'd disconnect, because you'd been using the SD card as a drive. It would then re-initialize the card and poof, your icons would reappear. Not this one! They're gone-ski!They're still in the All Apps view....and certainly still on the phone/card because I can see them in settings>apps. If I look at the SD card view, they're all there.I did some rooting (sorry....snooping) around and found a few threads about this regarding Droid X, but none of the questions had been answeredI called Moto and they don't know what it is; "oh

View 15 Replies View RelatedI just got my ATRIX 4G on ATT in from repairing the screen from Motorola today. I download go launcher, go sms, and a few other GO apps, when my status bar just disappears. I find where I can open the status bar, but nothing happens. I then used home switcher to switch to motoblur home and then deleted go launcher. I then began noticing that it happened mostly in the go sms app. So I delete that and the problem still persists. Someone tried to call me and the screen was black and I couldn't answer, but I could hear it. I resboot my phone and the status bar appears for 5-10 minutes before disappearing again. I am tired of issues with this phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that since the Gingerbread update, occasionally (perhaps three or four times over the past week or two) a stock widget or two disappears from my home (or other) screen. This never happened with Froyo. This morning my stock Bluetooth widget was gone and I had to reinstall it. I am almost religious about pressing the Power button while on my home page to blank the screen before placing my phone in its holster. That has always prevented inadvertent button presses on the screen.

The song title and album artwork appear just fine, but a lot of my music just shows up as Unkown Artist. It is also showing up on my motoactv.com page as Unkown. I sync my playlists from iTunes. My shuffle can read me the name of the artist for the same songs, and they show up correctly on my iPod touch, and in iTunes. Does anyone else have this problem?

View 12 Replies View Related I'm facing this problem since the first M Preview, I recently updated to the preview 2 hoping that problem wold be fixed but it wasn't.
The default mass storage device label shows Unknown instead the device's name (Nexus 5), I'm not facing this issue on my Nexus 4 running 5.1.1 stock so I don't think it's an adb driver issue. I've tried to update the drivers to the latest on Google page, but no success.
The three navigation buttons at the bottom of my phone have been starting to disappear. Once I had to restart the phone to have them return. The other two times it has happened the buttons return within a few seconds. I'm hoping this is software related. Will try to grab screen shot next time it happens.
