I tried many, many times to beam contacts from my HTC Touch Pro to my Xoom. The first time, it did 30 out of 90, and then it would hang. Subsequent attempts would fail after 9 or fewer. Eventually it got to the point of not even doing one. I lost count of how many times I tried this. Probably 20 or more. I just tried the same thing with my new Samsung Galaxy Prevail [to clarify: from the HTC to the Prevail], and all contacts were successfully sent on the first attempt.
i have a xoom 32gb wifi only device that i purchased from woot.com and i received the update notice to 3.1 today. i have downloaded and attempted to install three times now, each attempt has failed? see image for error
I've installed the MotoHelper driver 4.9, and rebooted. Restart the Windows 7 machine.. When I plug in the xoom it says installing usb driver and then says MTP USB device failed to install. Not only that, then my external wireless Microsoft Keyboard with usb bluetooth tranceiver and wireless mouse (non-bluetooth) with usb tranceiver both fail to operate. Seems like there is some conflict.
When trying to copy the Kindle folder from the Xoom to Windows 7 Xoom backup folder, the transfer stops and I get a Windows message that says "device stopped responding." Everything goes well until about 3/4 way into the file transfer. At this point it stops (blue bar stops moving) and Windows Explorer says Not Responding. If I wait long enough, then I get the device stopped responding message. how to get this file backed up so I can ship my Xoom for upgrade.
I have set up my primary gmail on my new xoom and can read and send mail, but cannot get at my contacts, possibly because my main access on the PC is using THunderbird.I have tried to set up my7 secondary gmail account (which works OK on any PC with any browser, rather than Thunderbird) on the Xoom, but Google cannot find it. Several attempts have failed. I have typed the user name and password very carefully
I just recently upgraded my Xoom to ICS and linked it up to my companies Outlook using Active Exchange. Everything is working fine except for syncing my contacts. I have subfolders under my Contacts folder (e.g. Work, Personal, etc.) that are not visible/syncing. Is there a way either within the native e-mail client or an app that will let me sync the contacts subfolders? I do not want to root the Xoom. My iPhone does this natively but I'm not sure that ICS can.
On my DroidX when I open a contact and select the email address it opens up my mail program (k9 mail) so that I can send a message. On my Xoom when I try the exact same thing the screen just goes gray and hangs until I touch it again.
I have added an Exchange account to the Xoom. Guess that kind of account is based on what is called ActiceSync.
Unfortunalety it does not sync calendar and contacts automatically. It only syncs when I reboot the tablet, or when I turn off and on syncing manually in the settings. My provider uses an Open-Xchange server. My Android mobile phone syncs perferctly well with it.
I've bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro SK17, and have wasted a whole day, trying to transfer my contacts from my PC's address book. First, it asks to disconnect my old phone from my computer, then to reconnect. Finally it ends the operation saying "A memory card must be inserted in the phone". I changed the memory card to put a new 8GB card. But I'm fed up to see the same message again and again.
any suggestions what to do gratefully received have done the ususal, turn everything of and on, remove battery, all are charged ok but computer doesnt seem to recognise bb any more and cant connect
So I had music on my xoom but accidently deleted it. I tried going in my computer files to copy and paste songs from my itunes into my folder on xoom called music but says wrong format. I don't know what to do.
I bought the device few days ago and on very same day updated to Android ver. 3.2. I use internet over my home Wifi and have a Netgear - WGR614 router. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
Has anyone had any success with using Wifi that required user certificates? I'm trying to get my Xoom to connect to the corporate network (EAP-TLS) and followed the instructions for the IPad and imported my certificated into Android correctly. But when I connect, it hangs at the connecting state for minutes, before finally giving up.
I would like to buy the XOOM speaker dock and play music from my XOOM on a daily basis.... I'm worried about having it plugged (and charging) in too much and that I might GREATLY reduce the battery life by charging my XOOM too much.
I tired flashing my Motorola e816 from ampd to bell and that was successful but when flashing to verizon moster, the flash was successful but when you turned it on, there was just a white screen but the phone still booted and you could here the sounds. When going into boot loader the screen is also white but still connects to computer. I tried flashing to altel but fails every time, however the screen isnt white anymore. I am confused on what to do next and any help would be appreciated. My main goal is to flash it to verizon and get it activated.
I use Defy 2.2 for USB tethering. It works fine but often the phone rejects to dial ATD *99# with an ERROR and only phone restart helps to bring tethering back to live. how to fix it or restart this service only without the need to reboot the whole phone?
Currently I'm living in the Netherlands and I own a Motorola XPRT that I bought at Sprint in the US.I'm trying to update my phone to 4.1.110.en.US, the firmware does download, asks me to install.I accept offcourse, the phone reboots, tries to flash new firmware, suddently stops and reboots again and after the phone is fully booted there is a message displayed that says that the update has failed.I already did a factory reset and a hard reset.
I have been having problems with my (non-rooted) Sprint Motorola XPRT failing to update. After I download and attempt to install the update, the phone reboots, I get the installation screen, the yellow bar proceeds approximately 20%. Then I get the screen with a triangle/exclaimation symbol, which flashes on the screen for less than one second -- giving me no chance to press "@" to obtain a reason for why it cannot update. The phone then reboots, and gives me a message saying that the update has failed.I have also tried to update my phone after a hard reset two different ways, including (a) via the menu > privacy > etc, and (b) via the 'hold R and M' keys methods. Today I brought my phone in to the Sprint store, and the tech support employee also attempted a "more low level reset" which he called the "##RTN" (or something like), and even after doing this the update still failed.
The Sprint store tech support employee then searched an internal support forum, and he told me that some, but not all, Sprint Motorola XPRT users have been reporting a similar issue with the update. He said "it looks like Motorola is aware of the problem and is working on it". This update was current as of Nov 2. Because this is an issue that Motorola is currently working on, he said he could not swap out my phone (i.e., pay $35 for a replacement) and that I need to wait until the Motorola fix.
Can anyone recommend an app that will allow me to show .ppt files diretly on the Xoom non-US model? I had an idea it was possible with an app included in US Xooms but not to us outside the USA.
know if there is a way to transfer applications from the phone memory to SD card? I tried using the android assistant tools and used App 2 SD buth when I chose an applkication to move it a message comes up: "Sorry! the applications setting(process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close."
I recently noticed that I did not receive some critical emails from my Gmail account.I was able to manually sync the my email, but auto sync is no longer working. While trying to diagnose the problem I realized that my Yahoo Mail was also not updating on my device. My Yahoo account continuously trying to sync until finally it timed out.I tried to sync again and it gave an error message that it could not conntect to url..I tried everything with Yahoo Mail and finally deleted the account and tried to reinstall the account. At that point it would not let me rebuild the account, each time indicating it could not connect to the server.
I tried using the Yahoo mail app and I tried using the Motorola Droid mail app. Both failed to allow me to rebuild my account.I have had these accounts for quite some time, so something has changed in the last week that has caused my mail sync to suddenly fail.Gmail will update manually. Yahoo mail account is now deleted and will not allow rebuild.I have three Comcast mail accounts that sync with the Motorola email client without problems.I believe there may be a deeper issue with Yahoo mail because I also found my desktop client (Thunderbird) will no longer get Yahoo mail updates.
I finally recieved the upgrade to ICS on my Bionic last night. I've tried to download and install 3 times now. Each and everytime the upgrade fails to install.
I'm using a non-rooted device. I pulled the OTA update for gingerbread and it downloaded successfully. When it restarts it loads up to the boot screen and begins installation. It gets about 1/4 of the way before I get an exclamation error and the phone restarts. I've tried it multiple times and even formatted my phone before trying it.
Suddenly started having an issue, wonder if anyone else has seen it. Periodically, I'll be unable to enter text into an SMS. The keyboard will pop up, but nothing I type actually registers. The only way I've found to resolve the issue is to reboot, which only lasts a few hours.
I've had this watch 2 weeks and I'm really annoyed at Motorola. Watch just updated to latest software, and it seemed to be ok. Went out tonight on 11 mile run. Watch failed 20 seconds after starting workout. Stop running. Try again. Failed again. I do this like 6 times, even powered the device off and back on. Then, somewher around mile 9 into run, it started recording 0.98 miles... hmmmmph... so I stop running again. Restart. Nope, fails again after 20 seconds. I get home and sync workout.. it knows that i went like 0.98 mile, but there is now raw data.
1. Don't you all test your software before releasing?
2. Can I rollback to previous version? It needed help, but it worked.
