View 10 RepliesSo I'm trying to stick with the $15 a month data plan if I can, but I really want to try out the GPS functions on my new iPhone 4. For those of you that pay a lot of attention to data usage--how much data does GPS eat up if you're using something like the MapQuest GPS app?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThings are comatose around here now but I have a problem; my TN700 doesn't stop navigating when I reach a destination; it keeps giving directions. It won't accept a manual cancellation command either. Haven't tried to reset because I don't want to have to re-enter everything. Haven't logged onto the Motonav Tool page in years.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan I feel safe sending credit card numbers on my Xoom using a 3G connection? What about paying bills? I use a billpay service and would like to access it on my Xoom while away from home. Should I?Last week I was away from home and wanted to buy books from Barnes and Noble to read on my Xoom. They gladly took my credit card number but when I tried to enter a gift card number that I had received they said I had to wait until I could send it "from a desktop".

Is there an app that can tell me what apps on my XOOM are using data? I just got my XOOM back from the 4G upgrade, and the data use has shot through the roof.Literally, I drove 15 minutes down the road today and used 250mb of data. I was connected to my Wi-Fi network at home, then obviously my XOOM would have connected to 4G once I was out of range.I have the same widgets and settings as before the upgrade, and I literally just can't make sense of 250mb in 15 minutes. It's nuts, when I rarely use more than 750mb on my data plan, per month

View 6 Replies View RelatedI know there (can be) problems after installing update. So now I am off to see how I do a data backup.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI went thru the set up. I immediately noticed a difference in performance, when I turned it on it showed my location to be almost a mile (by road) from my actual location, probably a 1/2 mile as the crow flies. I turned it back on a couple of different times in the next few hours but it never did find the street I live on. The battery was low so I hoped that a good charging would get it to function better. The next day was some better, at least it found my street but still placed me 140 yards away. No panic yet, Friday will be the true test. Friday morning I loading in my addresses and found the optimization key thanks to my experience with the Garmin 1450. Bingo, route optimized! Looking forward to the trip now. However, the trip was a huge disappointment. This 765 did recognize waypoint correctly but the unit kept going to the blue screen with moto's advertisement . I would have to start the trip all over again and delete the waypoint I was at, it would add that back to the route.I'd guess it happened at least 20 times durng the around 3 1/2 hours I used it. Most of time I would be at a waypoint (but not always) and I'd get back to the car and it would be playing it's happy tune. I'm glad it sounded happy cause sure wasn't. The other 765 I had did not behave in this manner.

View 6 Replies View RelatedVerizon Wireless now has a really good hotspot tethering plan for 4G phones. For $30/mo you get unlimited 4G tethering on your phone which is a bargain compared to the tablet plans especially considering 4G is 10x the 3G speeds. It makes we want to run out now and get a Samsung Charge so I can drop my 3gB Xoom plan. I'm going to stick with my Xoom data for now and hold out a three or four weeks for the Bionic. Hopefully Verizon won't change this offer before the Bionic comes out.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow to delete unwanted picture data from gallery (XOOM) It's not that simple, in this case. I recently discovered somehow I had downloaded over 490 images into my gallery. Some 21 say Blogger pictures, and 459 are entitled from my Wordpress blog. I don't have a clue how they got on my tablet, and there are many duplicates. The option to delete was not there, just a bunch of places to send the pictures to: Picassa, Gmail, email, etc.
Go to Settings > Applications>Manage Applications > All, and scroll down to find Gallery. Tap to open it up, do a Force Stop first, if open. Then tap Clear Data. I only had 12 pictures on my tablet at this point so I emailed them all to myself, in the event they went poof. Then I held my breath, hit Clear Data, then went in and looked at my Gallery. The downloaded data was gone, all 490+ pictures, and the best part is, my pictures were still there! Those, I can delete from the Xoom, no problem.
Next, I went back into my Gallery, and to my dismay, right before my eyes, those 490+ pictures that were gone, began reloading back into my gallery! Where are they coming from?!?! 21 of them say Blogger Photos, and 459 are entitled "Stella's Blog". I don't have either app on my tablet, I can access either blog by using my browser, and have only done so a couple times. Next, I rebooted the tablet, went back to check the Gallery, and yes, the images were gone, but then they came right back again....where are they coming from and how do I get rid of them permanently?
Ever since I got my Xoom back from the 4G upgrade I have a problem with no internet access and generally a restart seems to wake it up. is anyone else experiencing thisIt might be my routine combined with geographic locations at specific times (e.g., commutting.)

It's currently a "software logistics issue" related to the maturity of the N97 device. N900 owners shouldn't hold their breath, though, as Nokia is focusing on bringing its free navigation service to the next generation of Maemo devices. That's not to say that the N900 won't get it eventually, only that it's not currently on the roadmap.[/quote]So will there be no OVI-Maps-Update be available for maemo5 ?
