View 3 RepliesIt is seen in the web that Motorola is going to release updates for unlocking the locks in the bootloader in its phones just like xoom from Q3 ,2011 onwards. Is it true?If so whether it will be available to the Milestone(European version) also? And to the rooted Milestone also?Whether this update is available by OTA or through web?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt is possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases of Sony Ericsson Androidâ„¢ phone models from 2011 and onwards.
Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone if you unlock the boot loader. Sony Ericsson can then no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unsigned custom software being flashed to the phone after the boot loader is unlocked. Certain functions in your phone might cease to work, and performance might not be ideal. You might also damage your phone permanently. In the worst case, unlocking the boot loader will cause physical injuries or material damage, for example, due to the phone overheating.Certain content on your phone may also be inaccessible due to the removal of DRM security keys and the secure user data partition while unlocking the boot loader. Therefore, you should only unlock the boot loader of your phone if you are an advanced user with good knowledge of the technology and risks involved. We strongly recommend that standard users NOT unlock the boot loader, as it is not needed.
I have the CDMA version of the xperia play but bootloader unlocking is IMEI based. I have fastboot ready to go I just need the correct key. I can provide MEID number or anything else needed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed Verizon allowed HTC and Samsung to hack unlocked bootloaders for there phones already, so it seems Verizon wouldn't have a problem with my Droid RAZR getting one. The 2 phones I have been thinking about switching out for mine are the HTC Rezound and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus because they have them.

I know that this voids warranty but every other mobility company has published a safe way how to unlock bootloader (like Sony or HTC). I really need this for Defy and it would be very unfair to users who don't have Atrix or Droid RAZR.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs I was talking on my Razr v3 yesterday, I experienced what I thought was just another typical of many AT&T dropped calls. However, upon further inspection, I noticed my phone had gone into boot loader mode for no apparent reason. It's done this on a couple of occasions. Once after it was accidentally dropped and another when I turned it off (then back on) because I was on a plane trip. I've been able to get it back to normal by just power cycling it until it booted. This time no such luck and the screen says the battery is 'too low to program' so if I wanted to attempt to flash it which is something I have NEVER done, I couldn't even do it due to the low battery. This is the only Razr I have and I don't know anyone that still uses one so I don't have one available to put my battery in to charge. Is this the only way to charge the battery? Is it not possible to charge it with the power off?

Several flashing attempts failed. Now i'm stuck in the "bootloader usb init" screen.(but thats another problem i'm trying to get help with in another thread.)I started with a fully charged good battery, but after hours of trying to get this thing back into verizon by flashing it with VRZ_E815_01.1E.0R_PRIii09574_MONSTER_01.shx , i believe i'm outa juice, well the battery is.So I plugged it in the charger, it's still in the bootloader mode and on! Now.It's been about 4 hrs, but the phone still turns off after displaying 'hello moto' for 1 second(when charger is unplugged), which make it impossible to try fixing the flashing problem.
QUESTION:
How do i know that/if the battery is charging while in the bootloader state?.. or is this phone turning it self off, not a battery problem at all, but has something to do with the failed flashing... a dead phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to unlock the boot loader of my Mini pro phone following the instructions given by Sony Ericsson on this page.
I have downloaded Android SDK 3.2 and Google USB driver as mentioned in the instruction there but when I try to connect to my phone it says there is no suitable driver. I went to Device Manager and under "other devices" there is entry for "F1Boot Fastboot" for which I'm trying to install the driver. I selected update driver software > browse my computer for driver > gave path to the usb_driver folder (C:Androidandroid-sdkextrasgoogleusb_driver) but it fails to find the necessary driver!
I am using Windows 7 64 bit and I checked the service setup of my phone to make sure that my phone is entitled for unlock of boot loader.
Trying to root my nexus 6 via mac. I have installed android file transfer.
I have the phone in boot loader mode. OEM on. USB debugging on.
I have Windows running on my mac too.
But no matter what I do, as soon as I put it in boot loader mode it isn't recognized.

There is the encryption key. This is not anything groundbreaking for the average user at this very second, but what it does mean to the average user, eventually, is that after Sony Ericsson stops releasing full version updates for our device (which is VERY likely to happen after the GB update scheduled for next month) The great people over at XDA developers will be able to provide us with full version updates that do not lack any features like they have to date. For example, when the 2.1 update was released, the devs at XDA got their hands on the code and released 2.2 for x10. However, the camera driver needed to be re-written for it to run at all...and even then it was not HD until recently because of a bootloader workaround. Now that the bootloader is wide opened we will see more updates, native wifi tethering, and if the hardware can handle it, we will see updates to full 4-point multitouch and 16million color displays. This also means we will be able to get full MIUI and CyanogenMOD support, and if you are really daring, you may even be able to make your x10 run WP7.Good things will come from this....development is still in the infant stages as this was just reported yesterday.
What's the process of unlocking a phone and is it even advisable? It's a Moto Droid. I know someone at work that might be going to China, they can buy SIM cards and use them locally for a lot less $$. Is this something that can be done by a back-alley hacker in Hong Kong and would Verizon later detect that the phone was unlocked? Who here has done it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn two occasions now the phone has been making an odd 'alert' tone both after unlocking the screen and while the phone screen is active.
It's not an application doing this because they are all closed. The phone is only supposed to make a click sound for locking and unlocking as per sound settings.
This is the second time this has happened. This morning my alarm did not go off because the phone shut itself off. Phone was fully charged last night. This morning phone was off and would not boot up until I pulled battery.

I've been "granted" a replacement, which is due to arrive Monday.Do the actively disable your phone when they do that?I am at a login screen, with 7:00 PM Thursday Jan 1 showing. A blue triangle next to the 1x symbol. ALso showed wireless net detected symbol. I cannot interact with the screen. But the sd card can mount in Windows. Also says No Service. Is this anything of interest to folks in troubleshooting DX issues? Or a clear indicator that they have disabled this phone? I have tried hard resetting this phone like 10 times now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night as I was driving home my phone cut itself off. The battery was very low and as a safety feature I assume, it cut itself off. When I got home I put the phone on my tv stand and put it on charge through a wall charger and let it charge overnight.I got up this morning and noticed my DVR was turned on. I picked up the remote and pressed the power button to cut it off. I instantly noticed my phone have to boot logo and then go off. I went over to unhook it from the charger. Now the phone wont boot.I have a Droid 4. You can't remove the battery. I have tried everything that I know to try to get it to boot or even turn on. I have tired 2 different types of wall chargers, my wife's car charger, a usb cable, and nothing makes a difference. I have also tried to hold the volume down and the power button at the same time. I don't know if my battery is shot but maybe it had something to do with my DVR remote. I upgraded to the Dish Network Hopper Service. I normally charge my phone at the same place every night.

On my Droid 2 Global, there was a key-sequence that let me turn on the phone without removing the charger, waiting a few seconds, then pushing the power button.
