What's the process of unlocking a phone and is it even advisable? It's a Moto Droid. I know someone at work that might be going to China, they can buy SIM cards and use them locally for a lot less $$. Is this something that can be done by a back-alley hacker in Hong Kong and would Verizon later detect that the phone was unlocked? Who here has done it?

ATT sent me the confirmation that confirmed that my iphone4 may be unlocked. But I can't complete the unlock processes because my phone won't connect to iTunes. I don't really need to back up my phone but want to be able to use it when I travel in different country. Is there any other ways to complete the unlocking processes without go through iTunes?

I used Wugfresh nexus root toolkit and went through the unlocking and root process. It unlocked fine, went through the reboot process. Then when I selected root and recovery I got to TWRP, swiped to apply the zips, it rebooted and never got back into system. Now it just hangs on the google logo. I can get into bootloader and stock recovery still as I attempted to reflash stock through the toolkit.

It's not an application doing this because they are all closed. The phone is only supposed to make a click sound for locking and unlocking as per sound settings.
Is Motorola going to release a roadmap to what phones will recieve unlocked bootloaders or is the Moto Droid X even going to recieve an unlocked bootloader?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSince getting the Atrix2 I have had no software issues or Forced Closes.This evening I woke the phone up, slid the Lock Bar to the right and here is what I get:The process com.motorola.process.system has stopped unexpectedly, Please try again,Force Close.Once I push "Force Close I can get the phone to function, however the same screen keeps coming up at random, also each time i slide the Lock Bar, I get the window or warning immediately.It happens consistently when the screen times out and you use the lock bar, slid to the right, and you instantly get the warning screen.I have also tried a few of the programs and when you access them i get the warning window. Anyone have any ideas as to what exactly is going on? No Downloads done today, just email, plume and some music.Ive done several Power Off/on cycles, It doesnt seem to want to go away?

Also, I replaced the 16GB SD card with a 32GB SD card, early last week. I've only had the phone for about a month. I have been able to power the phone off and reboot and get the phone functioning again. Last night it took 2 reboots before the phone became functional again. What can I look for to determine whats causing the error?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to access the manage applications option under settings, it shows the spinning icon stating its working and then finally the apps look like they're loaded and when I try to scroll down it is EXTREMELY slow. After scrolling for a couple of seconds, it slows down and then stops. After being frozen for about a minute,I get the infamous black popup stating: process com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly...force close.Also, I am unable to add quick dial contacts. I can get to the screen where it show 1-9 options with Voicemail alredy being #1, but I long press the number I want to edit and then select the contact to use but when it exits back to the quick dial page the contact I just chose is not there.I have the extended battery and prior to the GB update, my battery widget was showing 4200-4230 for the mV readings. Now, it is only showing up to 4155. I put the stock battery in to check that and the same thing, it stops at 4155.

Over time it has developed the problem that it will not always unlock when I press mute, so I have to do a battery pull or wait at least ten minutes before it actually lets me unlock and use the device. Literally what happens is I press the mute button and the device remains completely locked, really irritating when I have the LED flashing at me too! It mainly happens when I'm messaging someone a lot, so locking and unlocking really frequently.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes my touchscreen freezes up when im unlocking the phone, it may happen when sliding up the lock screen or when entering the password i set for it to unlock.I have to turn my screen off and back on again to get it to work properly again.It's not a huge problem, but it gets irritating when receiving a call and not being able to answer it without turning your screen off and on.
This started happening recently, already tried a factory reset which didnt work obviously.Deleted all applications i had installed, and made sure all applications were closed properly by using the back button.
About 3 times a day it unlocks and calls somebody up. Well it's not a software fault, it's just because I hit a button and the inside of my pocket just touches the screen and it unlocks. I saw on the xperia you have to slide your finger to unlock it, that would do the trick.

With my other phones(810, 925), if the phone was locked (with a pin) you could press the camera key and take photos without unlocking the phone.
Has this now been removed from the 1020? Now if i press the camera key I have to tap the pin to use the camera. BAD update or bug?
