It is seen in the web that Motorola is going to release updates for unlocking the locks in the bootloader in its phones just like xoom from Q3 ,2011 onwards.Is it true?If so whether it will be available to the Milestone(European version) also?And to the rooted Milestone also?Whether this update is available by OTA or through web?

The 2 phones I have been thinking about switching out for mine are the HTC Rezound and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus because they have them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs I was talking on my Razr v3 yesterday, I experienced what I thought was just another typical of many AT&T dropped calls. However, upon further inspection, I noticed my phone had gone into boot loader mode for no apparent reason. It's done this on a couple of occasions. Once after it was accidentally dropped and another when I turned it off (then back on) because I was on a plane trip. I've been able to get it back to normal by just power cycling it until it booted.This time no such luck and the screen says the battery is 'too low to program' so if I wanted to attempt to flash it which is something I have NEVER done, I couldn't even do it due to the low battery. This is the only Razr I have and I don't know anyone that still uses one so I don't have one available to put my battery in to charge.Is this the only way to charge the battery? Is it not possible to charge it with the power off?

Now i'm stuck in the "bootloader usb init" screen.(but thats another problem i'm trying to get help with in another thread.)I started with a fully charged good battery, but after hours of trying to get this thing back into verizon by flashing it with VRZ_E815_01.1E.0R_PRIii09574_MONSTER_01.shx , i believe i'm outa juice, well the battery is.So I plugged it in the charger, it's still in the bootloader mode and on! Now.It's been about 4 hrs, but the phone still turns off after displaying 'hello moto' for 1 second(when charger is unplugged), which make it impossible to try fixing the flashing problem.
QUESTION:
How do i know that/if the battery is charging while in the bootloader state?.. or is this phone turning it self off, not a battery problem at all, but has something to do with the failed flashing... a dead phone?
I have a problem in my milestone. Im trying to update my milestone to froyo from eclair 2.1 update 1 via MSU (Motorola Software Update). But after some minute It restart with a blank screen then reboot to OS and MSU says update failed. My last resort is to flash it via RSDLITE but when im trying to get into bootloader it shows blank screen then reboot to OS. I cant enter to my bootloader.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my phone in South Korea, I paid the contract fees with my local carrier overthere and she said: "that's all, the phone is all yours" (It seems that she never notice that I was foreigner and I am planning to come back to my country...plop!).when I arrived I found that my SIM was not working, so I downloaded an SBF file for US and installed it with RSDlite, it asked me for a subsidiary unlock code, so I managed to get one (I paid :/) so all was donne, I got my phone working and I even update it to FroYo 2.2.1 with a korean website.BUT without 3G connection.
looking arround I found and app (basebandswitcher V4) that will change my baseband to one that I could use and fix my problem, but it says "this app needs root access" so I managed again to root my phone, everything fine until I pick the baseband (Americas), then reboot and now my phone is stucked in Motorola logo, and it restart over and over and over.I tried to flash the old korean sbf version to it, and after it successfully finish, keeps restarting again and again.
Looks like now we have someone to blame, namely Verizon.

I have downloaded Android SDK 3.2 and Google USB driver as mentioned in the instruction there but when I try to connect to my phone it says there is no suitable driver. I went to Device Manager and under "other devices" there is entry for "F1Boot Fastboot" for which I'm trying to install the driver. I selected update driver software > browse my computer for driver > gave path to the usb_driver folder (C:Androidandroid-sdkextrasgoogleusb_driver) but it fails to find the necessary driver!

There is the encryption key. This is not anything groundbreaking for the average user at this very second, but what it does mean to the average user, eventually, is that after Sony Ericsson stops releasing full version updates for our device (which is VERY likely to happen after the GB update scheduled for next month) The great people over at XDA developers will be able to provide us with full version updates that do not lack any features like they have to date. For example, when the 2.1 update was released, the devs at XDA got their hands on the code and released 2.2 for x10. However, the camera driver needed to be re-written for it to run at all...and even then it was not HD until recently because of a bootloader workaround. Now that the bootloader is wide opened we will see more updates, native wifi tethering, and if the hardware can handle it, we will see updates to full 4-point multitouch and 16million color displays.This also means we will be able to get full MIUI and CyanogenMOD support, and if you are really daring, you may even be able to make your x10 run WP7.Good things will come from this....development is still in the infant stages as this was just reported yesterday.

As per the original official update schedule of Motorola the update was due for this model(EUROPEAN EDITION) on Q4,2010.But this was not by Motorola.Hence on my enquiry Mark informed me that Motorola has revised the schedule and advised me to look for it.Hence I found out the the revised schedule of Q1,2011 and notice that the update has already started to roll out.But even after the end of one month after Q1,2011 I didn't receive the update.I use to check the update information in the phone everyday.It always says your systemis currently update.Whether Motorola will give me the 2.2 update ever?Will anyone of the Motorola officials or Mark himself will please clear my anxiety and advise me the steps to be taken further to get the update without anymore further delay.Further there is one more thing.Recently whenever I try for system updates in the phone by going to Settings>About Phone>System Updates a message appears "The device is unable to connect to server.Try again later.".But whenever I try again and again later the same message appears.Hence what I have to do to get the update if it has been aired?Is there any other way to find the update and download and install in the phone?the phone is connected to 2G and i can browse internet successfully.

is there anything i can do to improve flash video playback? after the 2.2 update i was excited to be able to use flash on my phone, but video playback on it seems so bad that it's unwatchable.it's like a slideshow at best, and at worse i'm only getting one frame every thirty seconds or so. oddly enough the sound never skips or stutters at all.i've tried it over wifi and 3g. View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my Milestone which is UAE version to Froyo yesterday after a long delay, was really excited all evening until i discovered two problems with my wifi.The Device does not connect to the corporate network as my office uses 802.1x EAP and there is no place to enter proxy where as my friends using samsung galaxy s (Froyo 2.2) connect to the network and browse using the wifi advanced settings to enter the proxy in their device.
