I would like to know is there a way how to unlock boot loader for Defy? I'm creating an app that needs this function to work properly with Defy. I know that this voids warranty but every other mobility company has published a safe way how to unlock bootloader (like Sony or HTC). I really need this for Defy and it would be very unfair to users who don't have Atrix or Droid RAZR.
I've recently heard about the Motorola Atrix getting an unlocked bootloader, however,I don't own an Atrix since it's not on Verizon.I have a Droid 2 Global which I want to be able to unlock it's bootloader so I can freely customize my phone.will there be an unlockable bootloader coming in the Droid 2 Global soon? I love this phone a lot, but this is something that I really could use.I'm willing to void my phone's warranty by unlocking it's bootloader.

I am trying to unlock the boot loader of my Mini pro phone following the instructions given by Sony Ericsson on this page.
I have downloaded Android SDK 3.2 and Google USB driver as mentioned in the instruction there but when I try to connect to my phone it says there is no suitable driver. I went to Device Manager and under "other devices" there is entry for "F1Boot Fastboot" for which I'm trying to install the driver. I selected update driver software > browse my computer for driver > gave path to the usb_driver folder (C:Androidandroid-sdkextrasgoogleusb_driver) but it fails to find the necessary driver!
I am using Windows 7 64 bit and I checked the service setup of my phone to make sure that my phone is entitled for unlock of boot loader.
I noticed Verizon allowed HTC and Samsung to hack unlocked bootloaders for there phones already, so it seems Verizon wouldn't have a problem with my Droid RAZR getting one. The 2 phones I have been thinking about switching out for mine are the HTC Rezound and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus because they have them.
As I was talking on my Razr v3 yesterday, I experienced what I thought was just another typical of many AT&T dropped calls. However, upon further inspection, I noticed my phone had gone into boot loader mode for no apparent reason. It's done this on a couple of occasions. Once after it was accidentally dropped and another when I turned it off (then back on) because I was on a plane trip. I've been able to get it back to normal by just power cycling it until it booted. This time no such luck and the screen says the battery is 'too low to program' so if I wanted to attempt to flash it which is something I have NEVER done, I couldn't even do it due to the low battery. This is the only Razr I have and I don't know anyone that still uses one so I don't have one available to put my battery in to charge. Is this the only way to charge the battery? Is it not possible to charge it with the power off?
Is Motorola going to release a roadmap to what phones will recieve unlocked bootloaders or is the Moto Droid X even going to recieve an unlocked bootloader?
i bought this KRZR k1 in may2007 unlocked since i was gonna use it in Europe, it worked great
..used it with tmobile for a while when i got a new phone i stopped using this phone and put it away since i know i can use it in europe with their SIM cards well, getttin ready to go to europe again and planned on using this phone again
Here are my problems i charged phone with wall charger and turned it on all i get is a black screen with this on it....
It is seen in the web that Motorola is going to release updates for unlocking the locks in the bootloader in its phones just like xoom from Q3 ,2011 onwards. Is it true?If so whether it will be available to the Milestone(European version) also? And to the rooted Milestone also?Whether this update is available by OTA or through web?
Several flashing attempts failed. Now i'm stuck in the "bootloader usb init" screen.(but thats another problem i'm trying to get help with in another thread.)I started with a fully charged good battery, but after hours of trying to get this thing back into verizon by flashing it with VRZ_E815_01.1E.0R_PRIii09574_MONSTER_01.shx , i believe i'm outa juice, well the battery is.So I plugged it in the charger, it's still in the bootloader mode and on! Now.It's been about 4 hrs, but the phone still turns off after displaying 'hello moto' for 1 second(when charger is unplugged), which make it impossible to try fixing the flashing problem.
QUESTION: How do i know that/if the battery is charging while in the bootloader state?.. or is this phone turning it self off, not a battery problem at all, but has something to do with the failed flashing... a dead phone?
I've had the phone for a few months now, and it has been somewhat unreliable since day one: random reboots among the many and various problems I've had come and go sporadically. Never got 'round to contacting any kind of support 'till now. I haven't rooted the device, installed any custom ROM etc. It's a retail model FWIW.
I've just used the msu utility to update to 2.2 and after finishing the update the phone won't boot. I see an M logo with an ominous red background, followed by Bootloader
09.10 Err:A5,69,35,00,2F Battery OK OK to Program Connect to USB Data Cable
I've tried holding the volume / power buttons at startup and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
I restarted my phone yesterday, or rather tried to - but it will not boot - it gets as far as the shimmering red M symbol but no farther. The only way to shut down ore try again is to remove the battery. Have also tried with USB connected, and with sim card removed. Battery shows 90% charge when USB connected.
Have tried hardware reset but it never shows the menu.
This phone is only a couple of weeks old and Im severely disapointed, my first time back to Motorola after many years away. It seemed like a good phone, but this is a great inconvenience.
I have updated my Defy's software using the official Motorola Software Update software. The update process passed through but at the end the phone not booted.
The error message is the following:
Bootloader
09.10
Err:A5,69,35,00,27
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
I have even tried to reset with: Vol Down + Power + right down tap. But the small droid doesn't come up. Do I have to bring it to the service? I need my phone every day for work..
CardioTrainer seems to always boot at startup. I cannot kill the application nor can I remove it. How to remove this app or at least stop it from automatically starting?
i tried removing the battery and placing it back again...but when i do so the M logo appears and goes off and again appears and so on....i can only enter into the recovery by pressing down the - vol key and the bootloader by pressing down the + vol key..how do i reboot into normal mode?
in the recovery menu i can only see the following options:
reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory reset wipe cache partition
i tried reboot system now but it wont work.....it jus shows the M logo which goes on and off every 5 seconds...
I'm writing to ask for your favor - Please provide us, some enterprising Defy (MB525) owners, a way to unlock the bootloader.Rationale:1. You are providing means to unlock the bootloader on many newer devices already, and it shouldn't cost you much to provide us a mean to unlock the Defy as well.2. The warranty of many of our Defy devices is expiring, so even if we brick our device, we couldn't file a warranty claim anyway.3. The Defy is the 2nd most popular devices running CyanogenMod according to http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/, so we have a huge following.4. If you allow us to unlock the bootloader, we will consider it as a gesture of goodwill and will be more willing to recommend our families and friends to buy Motorola devices in future.
5. Many other manufacturers have started to unlock their bootloaders and by comparison, Motorola is doing very poorly and has a bad image in our mind.6. Many of us bought the Defy without any carrier subsidy.7. Come on! Give us a Christmas gift, okay
I've read that some people like to install twrp, root, etc. and then re lock the bootloader. Is there any benefits to doing that? And is there a way to unlock/lock without wiping every time you unlock again?
It is possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases of Sony Ericsson Androidâ„¢ phone models from 2011 and onwards. Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone if you unlock the boot loader. Sony Ericsson can then no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unsigned custom software being flashed to the phone after the boot loader is unlocked. Certain functions in your phone might cease to work, and performance might not be ideal. You might also damage your phone permanently. In the worst case, unlocking the boot loader will cause physical injuries or material damage, for example, due to the phone overheating.Certain content on your phone may also be inaccessible due to the removal of DRM security keys and the secure user data partition while unlocking the boot loader. Therefore, you should only unlock the boot loader of your phone if you are an advanced user with good knowledge of the technology and risks involved. We strongly recommend that standard users NOT unlock the boot loader, as it is not needed.
I just unlocked my Sensation's bootloader through the official HTC Dev website. I've been trying to do unlock root access as officially as possible and I noticed after unlocking the bootloader the device is still S-ON. Did unlocking the bootloader help at all in an attempt to achieve root? What steps should I take to continue my quest for root access?
today i got crazy because of my Moto. I have Motorola Defy CEE edition - without BLUR account.Today i borrowed Defy to my friend who tried to unlock the phone. After few unsuccessful attempts i got following message:"Too many unlock attempts!" and i'm able to unlock it only with signing in with a Blur account. As Blur is not supportedf in my region (slovakia, central europe) i had never created the account. How can i unlock the phone? Is there any possibility?I'm really furious about this situation, how can motorola create such crapy unlocking procedure? Unlock the phone with blur in region where blur is not supported....
the phone was fine and then I heard a noise and notived there was a black square with insatll now or later. I installed now and it showed a bar where the progress was.I did not touch the phone and I heard another noise and went to look at the phone. It was black and when i tried to give the pin, it said Sim card locked emergency calls only. The pin is correct.I turned it off and took the battery out and in again then turned it on, but it is still the same. The battery is at 60% so it is not that. Why would this be please? Did I install a virus? It looked just like the normal official updates.
I have the CDMA version of the xperia play but bootloader unlocking is IMEI based. I have fastboot ready to go I just need the correct key. I can provide MEID number or anything else needed.
I telephone T-Mobile today and requested the Carrier Subsidy Unlock Code for our Motorola Defy. They said that they would have it to me in 24 hours! Has anybody ever actually had that quick of a turnaround time on a T-Mobile Carrier Subsidy Unlock Code request?
i have some questions to aski'm a possessor of an xperia mini st15i (italian version i think)i rooted the stock .587 ics, installed via xparts a sort of clockworkmod emulation (cause it's on system partition i think) and flashed phone with real ics 4 for locked bootloader based on stock .462 i did this following some howtos in this forum and whitout unlocking bootloader.now i would like to unlock that bootloader, install native clockworkmod and the android official version from google, possibly gingerbreadcause speed issues on ics, here are the questions can i proceed following normal howtos ignoring what i did to my phone?are there any guide to read?do exist some ics based rom for locked bootloader that gives an evident increase of performance?

There is the encryption key. This is not anything groundbreaking for the average user at this very second, but what it does mean to the average user, eventually, is that after Sony Ericsson stops releasing full version updates for our device (which is VERY likely to happen after the GB update scheduled for next month) The great people over at XDA developers will be able to provide us with full version updates that do not lack any features like they have to date. For example, when the 2.1 update was released, the devs at XDA got their hands on the code and released 2.2 for x10. However, the camera driver needed to be re-written for it to run at all...and even then it was not HD until recently because of a bootloader workaround. Now that the bootloader is wide opened we will see more updates, native wifi tethering, and if the hardware can handle it, we will see updates to full 4-point multitouch and 16million color displays. This also means we will be able to get full MIUI and CyanogenMOD support, and if you are really daring, you may even be able to make your x10 run WP7.Good things will come from this....development is still in the infant stages as this was just reported yesterday.
I am trying to unlock my 8320(Tmobile) using MFI loader. I have a mac and I got parallels just so I could do this but I can get MFI loader installed in the first place. I'm on XP I got the installer and the 8 rar files needed.
1. ran the installer 2. unzipped 8 files and added them to the MMI folder 3. ran the program and got this error saying could not find part of the path and retrieving com class component. Can anyone help me take this baby step. This is two days struggle amounting to nothing so far.
My phone has multiple resets ad the direction of Motorola, and has been in for a circuit board replacement. Now the screen still freezes and the reception is hopeless.I am sure this handset is a lemon. It is still under warranty, 11 months old.
