I bought a S6 (G920F) two months ago and it came with 5.1.1 android installed. I want to root it but without tripping KNOX because I have two year warranty. I know that pingpong root does this but on 5.0.2. Can I flash the official build for 5.0.2 via Odin and don't get KNOX tripped.
I've currently rooted my Galaxy S6 and I'd like to return it fully to factory stock without tripping KNOX. Unfortunately I'm going to return this device since the memory management issues are a dealbreaker for me on a $800 phone. Will flashing stock firmware trip KNOX?
An OTA update to 5.1.1 loaded last week for my G920I and I am unable to uninstall Knox or disable it. How to do it without root? I am a huge supporter of rooted devices but this one does not have a whole lot of bloat so I would rather keep it unrooted. All the instructions point to a Knox icon and main settings in Knox which I do not have.
Knox is loaded and running and alsmost using up a gig of ram. I had Knox enabled in 5.0.3 before the OTA update and it appears to be enabled still in 5.1.1. I do not care about security and I am careful about what I install and I don't need a system app running and wasting battery and ram.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5/ Android 5.0/knox v 2.3
While adjusting my settings in Knox I switched to folder view, which has completely changed the knox environment. The main thing I now find is I can no longer toggle in and out of the knox container using the notifications area that you swipe down from the top of the screen, unless there is a specific notification, ie a new email.
The option within the Knox settings that I used to switch to folder view is no longer visible - the settings seem to have changed ( and more to the point, I can't remember the exact option) so I can't switch back.
Is there any easy fix to either add a toggle into the notifications area to enter/leave the knox container, or preferably to switch back from the folder view organisational structure to the standard environment that I assume is there by default?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and have apps like whatsapp, facebook and email on my homescreen. When there is a new message in whatsapp the counter (badge) on the app increases. However it does not reset to zero if I click on the app and go inside the app and come out quickly (without clicking on individual chat and read the message) Is there a way that the notification setting can be tweaked such that the counter reduces if I enter the app and exit - with or without having to go into each of the chats?
I used to have a Windows Phone earlier, in which this would happen.
I am using the standard email app on my Galaxy S6. I have two email addresses set up on it. When I empty the recycle bin for each address, the counter won't reset to zero. It just reverts to the same number each time, even though the app says the bin is empty.
Things are comatose around here now but I have a problem; my TN700 doesn't stop navigating when I reach a destination; it keeps giving directions. It won't accept a manual cancellation command either. Haven't tried to reset because I don't want to have to re-enter everything. Haven't logged onto the Motonav Tool page in years.
So I'm trying to stick with the $15 a month data plan if I can, but I really want to try out the GPS functions on my new iPhone 4. For those of you that pay a lot of attention to data usage--how much data does GPS eat up if you're using something like the MapQuest GPS app?
I'm going on a trip to Europe and I was wondering if iMessage will still be available to use through the Wifi there for me to message my friends in the states who also have iMessage? I have Verizon by the way. If that even helps with anything.
I recently traveled overseas and had all my calendar items show on my iPhone as in the new locations time (ie, they moved X hours so wrong, but consistent). So the Appointments stayed in my home time zone, they just showed in the equivalent time period on the iPhone calendar.Â
When I returned home, my Calendar on my MacBook reverted to normal (ie, all appointments went to the correct, original time) but the iOS Calendar has somehow locked into the other time zone that I visited for a week or so. How can I get all the appointments on my iPhone to show correctly without changing or losing any of them.
