Jan 6, 2016I bought a S6 (G920F) two months ago and it came with 5.1.1 android installed. I want to root it but without tripping KNOX because I have two year warranty. I know that pingpong root does this but on 5.0.2. Can I flash the official build for 5.0.2 via Odin and don't get KNOX tripped.

Oct 16, 2015An OTA update to 5.1.1 loaded last week for my G920I and I am unable to uninstall Knox or disable it. How to do it without root? I am a huge supporter of rooted devices but this one does not have a whole lot of bloat so I would rather keep it unrooted. All the instructions point to a Knox icon and main settings in Knox which I do not have.
Knox is loaded and running and alsmost using up a gig of ram. I had Knox enabled in 5.0.3 before the OTA update and it appears to be enabled still in 5.1.1. I do not care about security and I am careful about what I install and I don't need a system app running and wasting battery and ram.

Galaxy S5 :: How To Switch Out Of Folder View In Samsung Knox
Nov 10, 2015I have a Samsung Galaxy S5/ Android 5.0/knox v 2.3
While adjusting my settings in Knox I switched to folder view, which has completely changed the knox environment. The main thing I now find is I can no longer toggle in and out of the knox container using the notifications area that you swipe down from the top of the screen, unless there is a specific notification, ie a new email.
The option within the Knox settings that I used to switch to folder view is no longer visible - the settings seem to have changed ( and more to the point, I can't remember the exact option) so I can't switch back.
Is there any easy fix to either add a toggle into the notifications area to enter/leave the knox container, or preferably to switch back from the folder view organisational structure to the standard environment that I assume is there by default?
Galaxy S6 :: Knox Mail Sync Battery Drain
Aug 4, 2015I've used my Galaxy S6 for two months through work and I like it... sort of. Lag spikes are normal, compared to my Moto X 2014 which runs smoothly. However, this is not what really bothers me.
I've set up Knox to work with my corporate Exchange server. The mail app has been set to manually sync, as push and timed sync drained my battery incredibly fast.
Even now with sync settings on manual, the phone chews through at least 5-10% per hour. As soon as I disable my email connection or disable Knox, the battery drain stops.
Is there an alternative app that can be used in Knox? I've tried Outlook but it doesn't allow me to specify a certificate or enforce SSL.
I would prefer to use something other than the built in email app, as that seem to be the source according to other forum posts.
Even better: is there any way of plugging the battery drain without loosing Knox email capability?

Jun 25, 2012Finally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..

Jan 31, 2012This morning there was an software update on my xperia active, i clicked ok and it failed to download a couple of times, i figured maybe because i was downloading via wi-fi. i finaly downloaded it and then when finished it started to instal. after that my phone went into a "coma" it is non responsive, the only two vague signs of life is when i conected it to my PC and the little green light on the upper left of the screen lite up. but then the PC keeps making the plug-in plug-out sound and nothing happends, the other is when i press the on button on the phone that same green light flashes for a spit of a second and does not show up again. i've downloade SEUS and PCC tried to up date in both of them to update first and then to original setting and nothing, also tried the rapair, under softwear updates and nothing it takes for ever and and twice frozze in mid process.

Jun 27, 2012When I plug my Xperia Mini Pro to the computer and synch it with the PC companion; it tells me there is a update ready to be downloaded to the phone. When I follow step, ie read the changes etc then proceed to dowmload update; it oes all fine to star with nd it starts downloading then all of the sudden it "jumps" ahead and goes over to error message to say "Error in dowloading". I have tried alot of times so it was not just a one off. I both rebooted computer & restarted the phones and tried again. Still same msg. Aug 28, 2012after ICS update I have a problem with pressur sensor. This problem happens both with my bike computer application and with standard Sony pressure sensor demo. If I switch on the phone and I activate the application immediatly (before the phone go sleep) all works fine. If I wait and after a while (after display dimmed) I activate the application the pressure sensor does not send events. It happen systematically. When the pressur sensor doesn't send events it is not seen from service menù (no millibar displayed). My phone model number is ST17i, Android is 4.04, kernel is 2.6.32.9-perf, build 4.1.B.0.431.
