View 3 RepliesI bought a S6 (G920F) two months ago and it came with 5.1.1 android installed. I want to root it but without tripping KNOX because I have two year warranty. I know that pingpong root does this but on 5.0.2. Can I flash the official build for 5.0.2 via Odin and don't get KNOX tripped.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThings are comatose around here now but I have a problem; my TN700 doesn't stop navigating when I reach a destination; it keeps giving directions. It won't accept a manual cancellation command either. Haven't tried to reset because I don't want to have to re-enter everything. Haven't logged onto the Motonav Tool page in years.

For those of you that pay a lot of attention to data usage--how much data does GPS eat up if you're using something like the MapQuest GPS app?

I'm using a Bold 9900 and brought it to the UK from South Africa with my South African sim card (MTN) the device is on roaming, but reception is so bad that the device is almost un usable.I have it connected to the home WI-FI here in the UK and this allows me to use my BIS. For 3 weeks while I have been here, I have been able to use BBM etc while in range of the WI-FI. Today I inserted a friends spare "3" or "Network-3" sim card to allow me to make calls easier and cheaper while I'm here, took the sim card out, put my old one back in and that's when the problem started. No BIS anymore when connected to the WI-FI on my originally "BIS" working MTN sim card. Now I have looked around the web and the only thing I have come across is something vague referring the PIN pairing itself with the network/carrier.

I have a 6270 Classic and I can successfully use GPS navigation in Sydney. I have loaded maps for Hong Kong on to the phone, and updated the phone software to the latest version as recommended by Ovi software. When in Hong Kong the phone fails to get a GPS lock despite being left to try for in excess of 30 mins. I have tried setting with and without AGPS, with and without network access.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe world edition purchased years ago came unlocked from Bell. It has served me well in India and other countries in that a local simm card could be used to reduce roaming charges. Recently in Africa I had no service. It also prompted to insert a simm card. The moment I returned to Toronto I had full service again. Would an operating system update fix this new bug ? If so, is where can I download the fix?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a blackberry 9780 and it won't send text messages overseas. Even when I receive an overseas sms and I want to reply, when I click on the SEND button, my phone will freeze and I will have to restart my phone and once it restarts this message will always come << uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(145) is not responding; process terminated >>. What does that mean? The phone is originally from telus but I unlocked it and now am with koodo and the monthly plan I took with koodo allows me to send unlimited overseas text messages, so now its like am paying for a service I cant use! I called koodo and they said there system works perfectly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI think perhaps one email was successfully sent from Mail, but nothing more till I returned home. Mail said it was a server error on the outgoing server, but it appears too coincidental with being overseas. Also a couple of apps I tried didn't work (Viber, and as I might have expected, Catchup TV as it's for UK viewers).
Any tips for using the phone overseas? I switched data roaming and Mobile Data off as I didn't need them in the hotel room (and for the cost of course) and switched these both back on when I arrived in the UK. But it seems odd that I could not send Mail in a Wifi environment.

i bought a xoom (wifi) while in the us a few weeks ago. after arriving back to vietnam and setting-up my google and android market accounts a number of apps that i tried to download advised me that they are not available for download in "my country". how can i get these apps (e.g., amazon kindle; riptide, etc.) loaded in to my xoom wifi?also ... the android market doesn't even show "books" or "movies" within my android market, nor can i access google books for purchasing! do i have to change my location on my android market account to the us ... can i even do this after its been set-up?i did some further trouble-shooting including the following:
i have contacted various app developers .... all of which have confirmed to me that they allow and support free & paid app downloads in vietnam.i have had multiple friends in the us attempt to access and download numerous android apps to my android market account from their us-based web servers, but they receive the same comment i.e., "this item cannot be installed in your device's country", even though they are on a us server.
it is therefore clear that the problem is with my google/android market/xoom set-up, so can anyone assist me to confirm whether i can either:delete my android market account from my google account and "re-start", setting my location as the united states. (while retaining all my gmail; Internet; etc. account settings and files.) fix my current google/android market account settings to indicate i am in the united states so that i can download apps?
I am trying to install Skype on my Atrix 4G without luck. I am US military stationed in the UAE, and the freedom police here have determined that people who live here should not be able to use Skype. We all get around this by using VPNs, but it doesn't seem to be working on my phone. Using the VPN on my router and the home wireless network, I got all the way to the download skype for Android button. When I tried to select my phone as the intended device, I got a message that said this country doesn't allow Skype, and it would not install. just push a button on the phone and do Skype to Skype, or even Skype to telephone with my family back in the US instead of firing up the computer. Can I perhaps download to my computer then use a cable to install on the phone?

I recently traveled overseas and had all my calendar items show on my iPhone as in the new locations time (ie, they moved X hours so wrong, but consistent). So the Appointments stayed in my home time zone, they just showed in the equivalent time period on the iPhone calendar.Â
When I returned home, my Calendar on my MacBook reverted to normal (ie, all appointments went to the correct, original time) but the iOS Calendar has somehow locked into the other time zone that I visited for a week or so. How can I get all the appointments on my iPhone to show correctly without changing or losing any of them.
