I love giving my phones my own tweak I have tried to search for the forums for some droid tweaks, flexing, hexing, whatever you may call it but came back with nothing..
Main concerns as of now:
How do I change my background on this phone?
How do I upload my custom ringtones?
How do I add songs for media player
Has anyone found a utility to root the Droid 4 yet? If yes, could you please provide a link? I mostly want to be able to delete many of the applications that motorola and verizon have added to stock android that I'll never use and just clutter the system.Does anyone know whether Motorola is planning to release an unlocked bootloader for this device?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have just bought the atrix 2 a couple of days back and i updated to 2.3.6 (surprisingly) i have the stock lockscreen and wanted to customise it, as in it just has 2 options sound and unlock, i have seen someplace that you can add a 3rd and 4th option also as in some application on the top or bottom also another problem i have faced is with the facebook notifications, i donot recieve them at all, i have to manually check them on facebook application.

I know there are "lock screen replacement" applications out there, but in my experience they have not worked really well and they kind of do a round about method of getting the screen to display.

For my info, I have my name, my google voice number, and an email address.I previously had an app to do this, but with ICS I no longer need it. I mention this feature because of something that happened to me this weekend. I have an Android ICS tablet on which I've also entered the owner info. I left it in a public place this past weekend. Before I had even gotten back to my hotel, I had received emails and phone calls from the person who found the tablet, turned it on, and used the Owner Info to contact me.Saved me at least $300 it would have taken to replace it. Which wasn't the worst thing - I had taken the memory card out of my camera and put it in the tablet. I would have been extremely upset at losing of days worth of very important photos that could have never been replaced.

On mine, I have "Owner", Brightness, Settings, etc. I'd really like be able to silence my phone from this menu. There are more spaces, so I feel like I should be able to change what's on there. When I go to the home screen, and click the menu, then options, it gives me settings for Home Scren Preferences. But there are no owner options. Just home screen preferences. I can make and receive calls and download apps so I'm confused by what could be causing all of this.

I put my t mobil account chip and bought the data plan and most of the features seem to work (I think).My brother's email is still in the email button and blackberry can't connect to the email server so that I can delect his email and put mine.Also when I make a call the 'My number' is showing my brother's number.
Is there a way to correct this. Does he need to unregister somewhere. Does he need to go to his carrier Version to change something?
Hey guys so i've had my ATT Nexus one for about 4 days now and I absolutely love the thing. I've a few problems though. First my call quality is apparently pretty bad, I have full 3G ATT service in Pittsburgh and i routinely hear the people i'm talking to say sorry can you repeat that. Also I've been getting texts a few hours after people send them. Finally I'm having a really hard time getting used to the onscreen keyboard.
Now I came from an N85 which obviously had a physical keyboard and the first two issues can easily be blamed on ATT's network. I was wondering if these are common issues however and if they will improve over time, in regard to typing. I assume it will but its been about 4 days now and i'm still no good at all, maybe I really suck with touchscreen typing?
I have bought a bold 9900 via ebay. However, when I registered it with vodafone New Zealand, they told me that this phone is still in contract with the previous service provider, so they can not start new service for me. I contacted with the seller on ebay but it seems like he can not help me. How can I remove the previous BIS service of the previous owner now?

well I thought that picking up one was the best way to go. I found however I have a number of issues which I can't seem to solve.
1) internal GPS does not seem to operate. Even on GPS data application (and the GPS data application is NOT where the manual says it is)
2) I am having difficulty in setting up the phone in the same manner as my E63, can I just copy applications across using the PC based system? I have a number of things setup on the E63 such as synch to Google contacts & Calendar using exchange
3) the clock 'screen saver' time is tiny compared to that of my E63, how can I make this larger?
4) how to change between predictive and normal text input (ctl spacebar on E63)
5) what are "audio themes" and what would I use it for?

I've tried going into "More Settings" but that's very limited and does not allow me to change owner or change email address or change the name of the owner account.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to customize the FM-transmitter for the N86 with RDS, so it also sends the artist and title of the song being played to the FM-receiver used? Now it only sends "Nokia", but that means there must be a function for the "sending part".Had a SonyEricsson W980i before and it had this function. It's not a must, but is really neat when using the FM-transmitter in the car. Nokia doesn't want to be worse than SE, does it?
