Has anyone found a utility to root the Droid 4 yet? If yes, could you please provide a link? I mostly want to be able to delete many of the applications that motorola and verizon have added to stock android that I'll never use and just clutter the system.Does anyone know whether Motorola is planning to release an unlocked bootloader for this device?
I love giving my phones my own tweak I have tried to search for the forums for some droid tweaks, flexing, hexing, whatever you may call it but came back with nothing..
Main concerns as of now: How do I change my background on this phone? How do I upload my custom ringtones? How do I add songs for media player
Is there any logical way to swap these without rooting? I have apps looking at the internal storage and there's no setting to point them at my SD card This is truly one of the dumbest "features" I've ever seen on a phone. What purpose does it serve?
As tablet wars have inevitably emerged and one is compared against another; I have to wonder --how much utility is the tablet getting from those who purchase them. Personally, I've been using it to watch streaming TV to which I don't have over cable, listen to local police & emergency scanners, listen to music from the 'cloud', play a few rounds of "Angry Birds" as well as streaming with "Live Radio". I've actually used the Google Navigator once and it's been very useful when finding a final destination.I don't know if I'm using the device to the "best" of its ability, if not, what else can one do with it? I've recently seen some hardware and software that turns an iPad into an O-scope, are there projects out there fot the Android market following the same lead?
i just rooted my motorola milestone and was wondering, where to get custom roms in english for my newly rooted phone?im currently googling to find some
Is there a way to take a shot of my Xoom screen without rooting my device or paying for an app? The only one I've found for sale for non-rooted devices is the best part of $10, which I will pay if I have to but it seems weird that the device doesn't do this anyway.
I found most application available on the Market gives the ability to backup installed applications data only if the phone is rooted (what is not allowed in case of Motorola phones :-P). I used the My Backup before I factory reset the phone, however after restoration I lost my levels achived in Angry Birds and in Bubble Bang (it was over 300 levels, I spent couple weeks on some of them). My Backup handled data only from Note Everything.
Who know the backup application which can backup my games with my achievments to the SD card without rooting the phone?
I have recently purchased Nokia C2 02. User guide says it should have maps icon, but there is no such icon present in Menu.how can I use maps in my handset.
I dropped my phone once or twice: whether this is the reason or not, now when I plug the phone charger in, every time I take it out it tells me there is something wrong with the disk.I finally reinstalled Blackberry manager on my MAC, and when I try to start working with the Blackberry it appears that it wants to reformat my disk; That is something I definitely DO NOT want to do since I have thousands of contacts on there. What can I do? PS I have a new Blackberry that i want to move this data to, but it is looking like it will be impossible. The last time I tried to sync or download with software on my MAC it killed my hard drive. And of course I was never able to do so. I use Entourage
I use the reduced keyboard in portrait mode when reading my messages so the "T" shortcut does not work to take me to the top message (it ends up being a "Y" instead of a "T"). Is there a utility program out there that adds a "TOP" choice to the menu? It would be also great if it had BOTTOM and NEXT UNREAD MESSAGE.
I'm using the IPC to setup a payload file for active sync for a new exchange server. We use a two stage authentication process so two certs are used. The web cert is delivered by the server and so is no issue. The client cert needs to be installed on the iOS device to allow activesync connections. If I manually install the client cert (without the private key) by emailing it to the phone and manually installing I can manually set up the exchange account. But if I add the cert to the config file-it does not work. Without the private key it won't validate the email address and with the key asks for the password for the AD account but does not accept it.
Is Rooting of Backflip and Installing Customized Roms Illegal? What kind of effect these roms will have on the mobile? In Many ROMS they have mentioned as Android 2.2 or Android 2.3.4.
I have tried to talk to Brother, but no progress. What does it take to make printer work with AirPrint Utility? Is there a work around, other than the Brother iPrint & Scan app?

Does Motorola intentionally make their new products inferior at release?I've been using a Droid and a Droid 2 for about 18 months.I shoot a lot of pictures outdoors, some macro, lots of nature and concerts.I also shoot indoors under challenging conditions (concert lighting.) They have both prtovided a passable point-and-shoot camera. The Droid 3 camera is dissapointing in that several important features have vanished:
-There is auto white balance, only a manual and difficult-to-use control. -The user can no longer set ISO -The user can no longer set EV -Focus is iffy under a variety of conditions -Photos have a bluish cast under most conditions, with and without flash
So instead of getting pretty good shots with a convenient camera, I'm getting washed-out, bluish garbage.(Issues with the video vs. Droid 2 also, in a separate post.)I want to know if Motorola intends to make the experience of this camera catch up with the spec soon, or if i should return my phone while I can still get something else from Verizon.
I have a USA T-Mobile G1 with the DMD64 update. I'd like to put Cyanogenmod 5 on it, but I'm scared to downgrade/root it. I don't know how to backup all my phone settings/apps/etc, if it will deactivate my sim and I'll have to ask T-Mobile for a reactivation, or what will happen. Can somebody tell me how to do this without permanently losing any settings, apps or network status?
I would like to root my Xperia x8, however I cant connect it via USB as the port on the phone is damaged. Is there any way of doing it via Bluetooth? Or any way of doing it at all? I should explain that the damage is not covered by the warranty due to 'physical damage' and that the phone is 'beyond economic repair'. Also I am running firmware version 2.1.
I need a quick and easy guide to root my 0.62 GB version of neo v.Pls let me know if this is for 0.42 version or 0.62 version. And also without unlocking bootloader.i haves a lock bootloader and dont want to unlock it.
I live in Chennai and have updated my X10 mini to 2.1;is there a single click quick root possible like it used to be with 1.6 using Universalandroot? There are too many space-consuming apps that I find no use for!
I like the way one on Samsung phones can have two apps filling the screen at the same time, and I wonder is this possible without installing X floating windows Mod? For the HTC M9, that is.
I have jailbroken many an iphone and ipod, and I have recently bought the S6. I am keen to root but it seems far more potentially troublsome, and far less straightforward.I bought this in New Zealand from Spark. I assume it is locked? Is the bootloader locked?I couldnt find the matching build on Chainfire, Can this particular model be rooted? Is there any guide to rooting? It seems all the information is spread out all over the place and no definitive guide and FAQ.I can't even find the original stock rom.Is rooting not similar to jailbreaking in the way it is done?
