I need a quick and easy guide to root my 0.62 GB version of neo v.Pls let me know if this is for 0.42 version or 0.62 version. And also without unlocking bootloader.i haves a lock bootloader and dont want to unlock it.
I upgraded successfully to Android 2.1 but in the process lost the User Guide on the phone. The instructions on the website doesn't seem to work. how to re-install the User Guide on the handset?
I recently updated my phone as prompted by my phone, I followed all the back-up/restore directions but when I click on 'User Guide' the message I get is "Cannot find User guide on memory card. The memory card has been removed or the files have been deleted. Is there a way to get it back?
I get the above message when powering on my X10 mini pro
The full error message is
Sorry! The application Setup guide(process com.sonyericsson.setupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I have tried a reset as well as removing the battery but get this message every time. The message just loops each time it is cancelled. This stops the phone from connecting via usb to a pc. It looks like the phone is corrupted and needs to be returned for repair.
Before I do so is there anything obvious I should try? The phone is running android 2.1
I would like to root my Xperia x8, however I cant connect it via USB as the port on the phone is damaged. Is there any way of doing it via Bluetooth? Or any way of doing it at all? I should explain that the damage is not covered by the warranty due to 'physical damage' and that the phone is 'beyond economic repair'. Also I am running firmware version 2.1.
Could any one let me know how can i record my wished phone calls on my brand new xperia neov.I dont want to use rooting procedure, as my warranty might get void.I tried with some apps on google play, but none of them were working fine.
I have a Neo V and it was with GB in start, then upgraded to ICS and now with GB again, but this time the battery life is lower than in the start. So how to have better battery life?
My phone came with GB 2.3.4 build .62 which is hard to root. So as the above guide directed, I downloaded a .42 build firmware, CE(Central Europe perhaps? I don't know) and tried to flash it using flashtool. I disconnected the phone from the PC in between. My phone wouldn't boot. Then I used SUS and updated it to ICS, making the phone work. I then flashed it to GB .42 patiently, and with success. Alas, problems started immediately. Many processes such as media, calender storage, acro etc came up as stopped working. Even after selecting force close they would keep appearing. I cleared the respective cache/data and the notifications stopped. Then I rooted it using Doomlord's toolkit, and updated to .62 via OTA, keeping my root. A few things have changed. The keyboard name is the same, International keyboard, but it is different and I don't like it. Camera is not working. Screen goes blank if I open the camera. Messaging does not work and the messaging app crashes as soon as I open it. No contacts are found, despite importing them again. (They all show up when using the import from SIM option, it says importing is done but they are nowhere to be found). Google search is not working and it crashes too.
How can I get a screen capture application without rooting my mobile? None of the application works for my x10! I'm having the latest update, which is ginger bread.
So like many people I'd like to customize my phone with a different image to the stock. I've done this before with HTC phones, and earlier this year updated to the Xperia Z2, with the intention of flashing it when a stable build came out from Cyanogen. Â Finally gotten round to doing this and after a confusing twenty minutes trying to get it into fastboot I learn that on its service page its rooting status, bootloader unlock is not allowed.
Bought a Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition yesterday. There is no user guide in Arabic in the box. Come on seriously guys. You are selling a product in the middle east and the least you can do is provide an arabic guide along with it. Called up Nokia care, they ask you to call Axiom, call Axiom and they ask you to call Nokia. Gave up the hope. Tried to get a user guide from the Nokia support website. Go to http://www.nokia.ae/support-en/support-en/n97-mini/guides and select Arabic and the page comes back with an HTTP 404 Not Found.
Imagine buying a phone worth 2500 AED and you don't have a user guide to go with that. Imagine calling up Axiom and Nokia care line just to hear that there is no guide provided in Arabic with the phone. Imagine you feel like an idiot buying something that does not make you happy. Now imagine if that someone were to be you.
It seems that there are a few out there struggling to make the Nokia N97 (and other S60 5.0 devices) work with VoIP (SIP), so if you're one of those folks scratching your heads wondering how it's done, then take a look at this guide with screenshots:
I used my Gizmo account details as an example for the settings, but of course you can substitute any SIP VoIP service provider's settings there instead. I understand that the guide won't fix everyone's problems, but any feedback to this discussion thread is welcome and with that we could improve the guide.
In other new S60 3.2.3 devices such as the E52 or E75, you will find the settings to be slightly different, but the basic setup procedure is similar. For those having even older devices like S60 3.1 (e.g. Nokia E71), there's a slightly older guide here:
It's been a while since I've logged into the forums. Since I've only been lurking for advice for ages, I figure it's time I actually gave something back. Below, a few notes on my journey into factory unlocked iPhone land.So about a year ago, I bought a 'new' iPhone 2G off eBay to replace one I had stolen a couple months earlier. Unlike my original 2G, this one got knocked around quite a bit, including several drops on concrete and tile. The screen was, mercifully, okay, but the home button was hard to press, the vibrate function was off-and-on, and the phone was getting bogged down by OS 3.1 besides. Once I heard about OS 4, and how I wouldn't be able to get it on my old phone, I decided it was time for a new one. WHY UNLOCK? So why even bother unlocking? Well, for one, I've been buying and software-unlocking my phones because I loathe AT&T's coverage, and am enjoying a T-Mobile plan at about 30% off the equivalent AT&T price. Considering 3G is spotty wherever I am, and I have wi-fi in most places I hang out anyway, I'm willing to live with EDGE.
The jailbreak feature is really handy, too, because I'm a stats nut who loves scrobbling to last.fm. There is (and for the foreseeable future, will be) no background scrobbler to send my recent tracks to last.fm without a Cydia app. But I digress…
I finally got fed up with the cat-and-mouse game, constantly worrying about bricking my phone, and enduring the performance issues I have been since 3.1+unlock. Note the difference: a software unlocked phone means you can buy a (cheaper) locked phone, but you have to wait for the most excellent iPhone Dev Team to deliver a version of Pwnage before you can upgrade. Plus, I noticed a lot of performance issues with my older iPhone. A factory unlocked phone was never locked by a carrier, and really does mean any SIM, any time, anywhere--NO QUESTIONS. But where to get one?
BUYING This is the tricky part. You basically have three choices to get a "legally" (factory) unlocked phone:Buy one for $850+ on a reputable site like Buy.com, TigerDirect, or a host of US and UK sites. Give a friend going to one of a number of unlocked-iPhone countries a bunch of money to buy an unlocked phone for you. Buy one for $600+ on eBay.I opted for option 1. How do US/UK companies get these phones, when there are no unlocked carriers in either country? Essentially, they're surplus phones being bought up by wholesalers and then sold to big computer parts companies like TigerDirect. My phone actually carries a Hong Kong part number, but there were no other markings (print, instructions, etc.) for me to tell the difference.** EDIT: Jersey in the UK's Channel Islands also sell the phones unlocked. Probably a spendy trip for US customers, though. phones are definitely expensive: $700 for an 8GB iPhone 3G all the way to as much as $1300 for a 32GB iPhone 3GS. I got mine for a little over $800 thanks to a Buy.com error (which they and Tiger Direct honored, much to my surprise!).Option 2 is cool, if you have a trustworthy friend.Option 3 can be dangerous. A lot of sellers will try to blur the line between software unlocked phones (using the very awesome iPhone Dev Team's unlocking software) and factory unlocked phones (which were never locked in the first place). BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU'RE BUYING. Ask for the part number. Google it, and if it's legit, you should see multiple search results online linking the part # of the iPhone you want to buy with a country with unlocked iPhones. If not, don't fall for the scam. It might be a software unlocked phone, which is definitely not worth the $600+ you'll be paying. Or it could be an iKnockoff, which is just a jerk move all around. UNLOCKING hen I was doing research, I read some conflicting info on this one. But rest assured: IF YOUR PHONE IS LEGIT FACTORY UNLOCKED, YOU DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT ANY EXTRA PRECAUTIONS. PERIOD. Just insert a SIM card, plug it into iTunes, and it'll register and activate the phone just as if you had a normal AT&T account (or whatever your national iPhone carrier is). That's it. It doesn't matter what country you're in when you unlock, nor does it matter which country's iTunes Store you're registered with, nor does it matter what country your part # is associated with. Just plug in your phone and go. If you're having problems, it might be a phone issue, or you might not actually have a clean, factory unlocked phone. HOWEVER, if you jailbreak after that, it's just as if you'd jailbroken a normal, clean iPhone, and all the normal precautions apply.
CONCLUSION So that's my primer on factory unlocked iPhones. We iPhone users are now conditioned to fear any unlock, but the factory unlocked phones appear to be a lot less scary than they're made out to be. The biggest concern you should have is that you're getting a legit phone from a legit seller—if you're paying several car payments' worth to buy a phone, be careful! Any questions? PS--I'm getting ready to sell the old 2G. I'd like to leave it unlocked, but still wipe all my data off of it. Anyone know the best way to do that? PM me with answers.
All of these new features are great but does anyone know where to find a User Guide to show how to engage/use them? Not even Apple.com has anything listed.I stumbled on how to create folders in another thread. It would be nice if all of the info was in a doc somewhere - it'd be a timesaver for me (and I can't be the only one.
So i've had an iPhone since they came out way back in 07. I've always had the black one since you had an option of colors. Recently i began to wish my iPhone was white. What are my options? Buy a new one right? I use my iPhone on tmobile, so no upgrades for me, I would have to buy one outright. I plan on getting a new one when/if a new one comes out this summer. I did some googling and found you can buy just the back housing of the iPhone. So i bought it, and set it up. You need 3 things...

I also bought an incipio feather case in white. I've never had a case on my iPhone bc i don't like how thick they make it feel(This is also why it looks like complete crap). We sell these at work, but not in this color, or at 5.99, LOL - NEW INCIPIO IPHONE 3G 3GS FEATHER CASE PROTECTOR WHITE - eBay (item 270526792030 end time Mar-02-10 05:50:15 PST) I followed this tutorial step by step to take my iPhone apart Rapid Repair - iPhone 3G Take-Apart-Guide Repair by RapidRepair
Its still over 2 weeks before the iPad Launches and we already have a solution Very Simple really here is what you need.
1. First you will need a jailbroken iPhone, check jailbreakmatrix.com on howto jailbreak your device 2. You will need to install the Rock Installer when you jailbreak 3. Second head over to Rock Your Phone and sign up for a free account 4. Install MyWi with Rock and start it up
Here you create your Wifi Name, Password and Encryption and then goto your iPad and join the Wifi Connection, No jailbreak no software no nothing required on the iPad
We are located in Canada and know that the iPad 3G is coming with micro Sims which you can't get here yet so don't waste that 6gb data plan you have, and lets put it to use. This way you can also grab it on April 3rd when it launches and don't have to wait for the iPad data plans to be released from the carriers?
I have just this morning got my nokia n900, second hand from ebay. before i put any files on there i want to restore it completely, but this flashing thing is really confusing me. I've done a search of the boards but it baffles me, so if anyone could answer these questions it'd be really helpful:
1) how do i completely wipe it as though it were brand new? (not 'restore original settings' in settings menu, i mean the equivelant of a hard reset)
2) how do i determine what firmware i'm on?
3) what is 'flashing'? is it necessary? if i connect my phone to pc suite/NSU to check for updates, will it work as it does on S60 eg nokia 5800, or do i need another method?
4) i gather the latest firmware isn't yet available for the UK. how do i go about installing it given the n900 doesn't require a changed product code like other models?
It mentions in the new Ovi Maps 3.03 that it has new features compared to the previous version 3.01. Which includes Events, Weather, Lonely Planet guide and Michelin guide.
I've installed the new Ovi Maps 3.03 on my Nokia E72, and I got the Events, Weather and Lonely Planet guide. However, there's no Michelin Guide on my Ovi Maps 3.03.
I also notice that the PDF documentation has 2 versions, one for the non-touch GPS phones (eg. E52/E55/E72) and another for touch GPS phones (eg. 5800 XM, N97 mini).I am guessing that the Michelin Guide is only present on the Touch version phones (5800 XM and N97 Mini). Could any users who have installed the new Ovi Maps 3.03 confirm if this is correct? Kindly indicate your phone model and whether you have Michelin Guide included with the new Ovi Maps...
in my Nokia E7 (upgraded to Belle) display, there is an indicator like the one in the attached file. What is its meaning? (I can't find it in the user guide).
Does anyone know of a service manual or guide to replace the LCD screen on a Samsung SCH-U640? I cannot seem to figure out how to disassemble the display portion. Also, any parts source would be helpful as well.
I apologize if this has been mentioned in earlier posts but find i'm getting myself more and more confused. I want to root my xperia play as i'm sick and tired of low internal memory and running slow. I'm in the UK and currently run 2.3.4 with a build number of 4.0.2.A.0.42. I don't care about the warranty issue as i'm in the last 9 months of contract.
I was always the frustrated one, seeing leaked OS, but if I want to play with it, I had to sacrifice Chinese reading/writing ability. Well a bit of research got me into finally figuring out how to actually insert Chinese/Other Languages capability into any OS (especially leaked ones!). Mind you this is only for BB 9700. It's actually easier than I think =) Anyway, there are two ways to doing it. Installing it as a separate add-on (Simillar to BB Maps / Password Keeper type RIM app), or installing it with the OS. 100% sure the OS method works, .alx via app loader through DM seems to be a little buggy, still testing.
Not responsible if I break your BB! Language Packs: (9700 Only) Download the Chinese Language Resources RapidShare / mirror Download the Japanese Language Resources RapidShare / mirror..........
Just recently I had an Icon show up just blow the clock on my home screen that looks like a black circle with a downward diagonal arrow in the middle of it.
Here they are, the Galaxy S II User manual and quick start guides from the Samsung's website. Might come in handy for some. Or those of us that loose the originals etc
Could someone tell me exactly what is the current status of GPS on the N900? As I understand you can see where you are but there is no voice guidance. Is it possible to enter a destination address and have the phone guide you walking? Out of interest will the N900 ever be able to support video conferencing or is there a hardware problem? Thanks, Ian.
[url] have tried to follow this guide so my iPhone is manually managed music-wise across multiple computers. I set it to that on Mac 1, manually added some music. No problem. Then plug it into Mac 2. iTunes reports the iPhone 'manual manage' checkbox is unticked. If I try to tick it, it prompts me to erase the iPhone and sync with the Mac 2 iTunes.Any tips for why Apple's guide isn't working?
