May 31, 2010Bought a Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition yesterday. There is no user guide in Arabic in the box. Come on seriously guys. You are selling a product in the middle east and the least you can do is provide an arabic guide along with it. Called up Nokia care, they ask you to call Axiom, call Axiom and they ask you to call Nokia. Gave up the hope. Tried to get a user guide from the Nokia support website. Go to http://www.nokia.ae/support-en/support-en/n97-mini/guides and select Arabic and the page comes back with an HTTP 404 Not Found.
Imagine buying a phone worth 2500 AED and you don't have a user guide to go with that. Imagine calling up Axiom and Nokia care line just to hear that there is no guide provided in Arabic with the phone. Imagine you feel like an idiot buying something that does not make you happy. Now imagine if that someone were to be you.

Aug 22, 2011recently I can't find spanish accents during text messagings. There are french accent (à ) or other languages symbols such as Ö, but not spanish accents (á). I had them until a few weeks ago.

Except I can't as "User Dictionary" does not appear under "Language & Keyboard". I presume Samsung have moved it somewhere else. Does anyone know where?

May 28, 2010I have just bought a Nokia 2220 slide, and have always had Nokias and loved them, as easy to use. However, I can not make this phone display the number that is calling? For example I have added my home number as a contact, as well as my partners mobile, and both phones when they ring it comes up as "call" and then if I miss the call, it states (no number). And I know for a fact both of these numbers are not private. Is there a setting I need to change to make the number display? I have turned on my info display for other callers, but this has not helped.

May 16, 2010I have just moved from LG touch (hated it) to a very basic Nokia 2220. Previously had Samsung before.
With the 2220, when I receive a text I have set the tone I want however I cannot find if this phone will allow the tone to sound after every two minutes. All my previous phones have had this facility which I like as if you don't hear the notification sound at first it alerts you every two minutes.Is it just this phone or are all Nokia's like this?

Jan 8, 2010It seems that there are a few out there struggling to make the Nokia N97 (and other S60 5.0 devices) work with VoIP (SIP), so if you're one of those folks scratching your heads wondering how it's done, then take a look at this guide with screenshots:

I used my Gizmo account details as an example for the settings, but of course you can substitute any SIP VoIP service provider's settings there instead. I understand that the guide won't fix everyone's problems, but any feedback to this discussion thread is welcome and with that we could improve the guide.
In other new S60 3.2.3 devices such as the E52 or E75, you will find the settings to be slightly different, but the basic setup procedure is similar. For those having even older devices like S60 3.1 (e.g. Nokia E71), there's a slightly older guide here:

Feb 26, 2010I have just this morning got my nokia n900, second hand from ebay. before i put any files on there i want to restore it completely, but this flashing thing is really confusing me. I've done a search of the boards but it baffles me, so if anyone could answer these questions it'd be really helpful:
1) how do i completely wipe it as though it were brand new? (not 'restore original settings' in settings menu, i mean the equivelant of a hard reset)
2) how do i determine what firmware i'm on?
3) what is 'flashing'? is it necessary? if i connect my phone to pc suite/NSU to check for updates, will it work as it does on S60 eg nokia 5800, or do i need another method?
4) i gather the latest firmware isn't yet available for the UK. how do i go about installing it given the n900 doesn't require a changed product code like other models?

Jan 25, 2010It mentions in the new Ovi Maps 3.03 that it has new features compared to the previous version 3.01. Which includes Events, Weather, Lonely Planet guide and Michelin guide.
I've installed the new Ovi Maps 3.03 on my Nokia E72, and I got the Events, Weather and Lonely Planet guide.
However, there's no Michelin Guide on my Ovi Maps 3.03.
I also notice that the PDF documentation has 2 versions, one for the non-touch GPS phones (eg. E52/E55/E72) and another for touch GPS phones (eg. 5800 XM, N97 mini).I am guessing that the Michelin Guide is only present on the Touch version phones (5800 XM and N97 Mini). Could any users who have installed the new Ovi Maps 3.03 confirm if this is correct? Kindly indicate your phone model and whether you have Michelin Guide included with the new Ovi Maps...

Example, now I set my phone language as English then my map shown in English else set phone language to Thai then map will show in Thai.
Is it possible to used phone language in English but map label shown in Thai? because phone language in Thai has many incorrect translations.

May 13, 2010Just bought the Nokia 2220 as I wanted a plain straightforward no gimmicks phone. Put my o2 sim card in which works fine. I have read through the manual which isn't very comprehensive and one thing I cannot find related to a "G" icon on the display which I have no idea what it is. I have the signal strength, battery strength and then the locked icons and the "G" features after this on the top row.
