May 20, 2012I had 2 separate runs in the same general area today that seem to have had the GPS drop out. Problem being, I thought the pedometer was supposed to take over at that point so that the pace and distance don't get all screwed up. That didn't seem to happen here. I was running an approximately 9 minute pace the whole time, but had it dip down to 17 mins and it would not come back up... I could see this happening for a few seconds, but for minutes at a time? I will attach CSV files for your review.ow could this possibly happen at this point? This is such basic stuff for this watch to be able to do, why cant it hack it? With a pedometer and GPS it should NEVER be this far off. So disappointing.

Jun 24, 2012Ever since upgrading the firmware on my Motoactv to MA 1.7.2 E8, I've had a problem with the Pedometer.I can't really say what it is doing on a general day to day basis, but when on the cross trainer at the gym it appears to be losing steps - however, it does appear to be counting them.For example, yesterday morning I went to the gym and as usual I set my Motoactv to Elliptical workout and put it in my pocket. When I started, my steps for the day were around 1700.Part way through my workout, I checked my Motoactv and it was showing over 4500 steps so it all seemed to be fine, and it was clearly registering my "steps" on the elliptical.When I stopped, after 1 hour 45 minutes, I checked my Motoactv and it was showing 1600 steps - less than I started with! According to prevoius workouts on the earlier firmware, I'd expect my steps to be approximately 14000-15000 higher than when I'd started after such a workout.All the stats in "Recent" were consistent with earlier workouts of a similar magnitude and time (i.e. distance, calories, avg/max stride rate). Also, if I look on the Motoactv website, I can see my strides being in excess of 14000.This is the second time I've noticed my steps being way off, though I don't always check my steps. However, I'm fairly certain it was working perfectly prior to the latest firmware upgrade. I definitely clocked more than 20000 steps during the day in the past, so if it is "rolling over" back to zero, it wasn't doing this in the past.

If it's not using the foot pod, can it be setup?Also, if I wear my HRM throughout the day, will I need to start a workout to record my heart rate whilst doing everyday activities?

Oct 3, 2012I've been a MotoACTV user for just over two weeks now and woke to find that my shake to wake function and calorimeter/pedometer aren't working. My device is not paired with any phone and because it's new, it's got the most recent s/w already installed. I checked the Wake Device field on the watch and it was set. Am I missing something or is there an exsiting problem for these symptoms? The MotoACTV s/w version MA 1.7.12 N8.

Jan 11, 2012 I got the motoactv for Christmas. I tried the treadmill calibration and like others indicated it didn't last the 2 full minutes. I have ran twice since and it doesn't work at all. I ran for 1.5 miles at a 5.2 mph and it recorded a .86 run and the mph was no where near 5.2. It basically said I was going about 2.5 mph. When I look at my graph, about half the time it didn't have me moving or moving at about 1 mph!.
I want to try and recalibrate it - where can I delete my original calibration so I can try again? Also, is there anyway to edit my run to put in the correct mileage? I don't see any edit functionality.
Motorola Motoactv :: Indoor Calibration For Running?
Jan 8, 2012Tried to callibrate MA for indoor running;Did what the prompts said -- however, it says for the 1st 2-mins. run easy -- my MA DID NOT let me go for the total 2-mins...tried a couple of times and it usually cut me off at about 1-min?When I look at my workouts OF COURSE the paces are off because it didn't calibrate...I saw that I could "correct" the distance on the MA, but how can I go to my MA.com and enter in the laps column my actual splits..ie., 1-mile??
I actually Don't track calories but was wondering why this indoor workout said 0 calories burned? I DID wear my HR monitor...(Incidentally, I have a new NordicTrack treadmill AND the calories burned compared to my Garmin AND the MA (when I got calories from outdoor run) were ALL completely different..by a lot).I enetered the same data for all 3 re. weight, etc...

Jan 1, 2012Is anyone else having an issue with calibration for pedometer or running? It always starts saying you will walk/jog/run for two minutes, but my Motoactv has been inconsistent, mostly counting down from 120 but then ending with around 70 or 60 seconds left.

May 4, 2012Problem Description: My device did a sw update last night. This morning when I went to put on the device, Steps Count was at Zero (As Expected) and Calorie Count was at 3500. I would tyically see a count of 500 - 600 in the morning. When I took off the device last night it was at 3100. May 17, 2012I planned a fit test yesterday, and a morning interval run today. I have completed both excercises. Both exercises have been logged in my 'recent workouts' tab. In fact, the portal has used the results of my fit test to set my HR zones.But, when I go to workouts on the MotoActv, I still see both excercises as not completed with a "!" next to them. Is there a way to reset this? Is there a workaround?

Jan 26, 2012A funny thing has happened on my 8GB MOTOACTV. Music that I do not have has begun to appear on my device. I originally downloaded approximately 220 songs and have since added another 15. However, my song total now shows at 401 songs, many of which I would NEVER listen to. THere is nothing worse that running and listening to a great song and have the next one be a Bay City Roller or Cyndi Laupner tune. Are these songs being uploaded when I plug into the website? Were they pre-loaded onto the device?

The solution offered by fletc33, which I assume closed the discussion, does not relate to the problem the original post talks about nor does it offer a solution. The problem we have has to do with the compass on Google Maps. it is not a frozen compass, or calibration of the compass. it has to do with the compass being off in Google Maps and the degree of the deviation varies erratically. The problem in not that the compass is off by some degrees, or that it is frozen, the problem is that the the compass is going all over the map when in google maps.
I have researched this problem for a couple of month, reading posts (here and on other forums) about this and similar problems and I'm yet to find a solution to this specific issue.I am going to take a short video of my phone rrunning google map to better illustrate the problema, nd post it to this thread.

Jun 29, 2011I recently used a bad battery in my phone, which ran down to 5% very rapidly, and then worked forever on that 5%.
Unfortunately, since then my other two (good quality) batteries also deplete very quickly... so I think the battery indicator has become inaccurate.
How can you delete the battery stats file on the Atrix?

Aug 13, 2011I just recieved a warranty replacement DX2 yesterday.So far, it is a neat phone and I am quite pleased.However, I am unable to fiind the selection to calibrate the compass. In my old Droid X it was in Menu>Settings>Location & Security>Calibrate Compass.Now, Calibrate Compass is no longer there.Perhaps the DX2 compass doesn't require calibration.

Aug 7, 2012I've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.

Feb 15, 2012I've had an Atrix2 since Mid-Nov.2011, and have really had no problems with it so far except a couple apps freezing and having to reboot the phone. But just recently, when I have had to reboot the phone (y'know just cuz u need to reboot a computer sometimes to make it work better) the ringtones I have set as the main ringtone and the notification sounds get reset to random mp3 songs I have downloaded on the phone. It's a different one every time this has happened, too. It doesn't even reset to the AT&T tone that it came with. I have two apps that may affect it. "Zedge Ringtones" and "MP3 Ringtone Maker." This also happened the other day but didn't notice it till my alarm went off to wake up in the AM. The audio for THAT was not was previously set. So, I really don't know HOW this is happening. I do have an aftermarket alarm app called "Alarm Clock Plus." (I have a separate issue with the factory alarm app for another thread)
