I have a DroidX2, and two times now it has rebooted on its own when doing the screen unlock swipe. Note that I have a passcode entry required to gain access to the device, but I cannot get to the point where I enter the passcode; rather, the phone reboots before passcode entry is permitted.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Droid Turbo. I have never locked the phone. I downloaded ANDROID PAY app last night. It required a screen lock to secure credit card. I agreed and set up a pattern screen lock. I got tired of unlocking phone every time. I went to disable the screen lock and I am NOT ABLE to do that. The security settings for NONE and SWIPE have been grayed out and are no longer an option. I have removed ANDROID PAY and still have issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDroid RAZR - bought in November from Verizon store. Screen protectors and case are used; phone has experienced no trauma. While in Gmail today, the screen pixellated, became unresponsive, and now is inoperable. The screen appears as a mostly uniform field of slowly shifting color (pink, green) with a perhaps .75 inch bar of white on the bottom; see attached picture (it was hard to get a good shot because of the lighting). The phone still "works" internally - if you call it, it rings; the screen sleeps after an appropriate time and you can push the power button to bring it back; I hear the chime of emails and texts coming in. However, none of the menu/home/back buttons work, and touching the screen apparently does nothing. When I push the power button to "wake" the phone, the previously described white bar appears instantly, and the fuzzy colored remainder of the screen "develops" over about ten seconds.
I forced a reboot via the power button/volume trick, and heard the reboot process - but the same screen issue stayed throughout the reboot.I am at about 15% power; perhaps a complete shutdown forced by loss of battery power will eventually help. Plugging it in to a charger did not help.
The following has been happening since before the latest update, and continued after.My phone will randomly reboot itself (there doesn't seem to be any correlation with what I'm doing) and then hang at the rotating red logo.If I push the power button the display will turn off, but after that no buttons have any effects.If I plug the phone in the display comes back on to the unlock screen, but the touch screen is also unresponsive.The phone is definitely still running though, as my bluetooth headset will reconnect and time-based notifications will still happen (I have the phone set to beep every half hour).If I leave the phone sitting for a significant length of time I will notice it getting warm, and it will eventually reboot again and behave normally.Battery pull does nothing.Wiping the cache partition does nothing.I've done a factory reset before, and this makes the problem go away for a while, but it comes back.

The DX2 doesn't seem to do this out of the box so my guess is Moto just shipped it with a setting for it off. How do I enable it? Kind of annoying to have to pull the phone out and unlock it for every minor volume adjustment.
View 1 Replies View Related5.5.893 Lost connectivity. I could not get Wi-Fi or 4G. I have been doing restarts instead of battery pulls and that has been working until today. It totally locked up on the Power Off Shutting Down screen. I tried to force it off by pushing the power, up/down volume buttons and nothing happened. That may not be the correct procedure, I only find that to be a starting procedure after shutdown. I pulled the battery and it restarted fine. I also had missed a call while it was locked up because I had a voicemail after restart. I have been thinking of getting the RAZR only because it is slimmer. Am I comparing apples to oranges? What would I have to do if I couldn't pull the battery?

I wish Motorola would get this right on its phones, although it may be an Android issue.When I'm on a headset the phone is in my pocket. I have pocket detection on. When a call comes in (on call waiting) the screen pops up and becuase there is an answer button rather than a swipe, without fail, the incoming call is answered.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter doing recent updates, the normal swipe-to-unlock feature of my Bionic stopped working. When I press the power button, I'm taken right to the home screen; I don't have to unlock. Even if I use Settings -> Location & Security and add a PIN or pattern lock, these do not work; each time I turn the phone back on, I go right back to the home. Sometimes the swipe screen flashes up but then disappears. The "Security lock timer" setting does not matter (i.e. it is set to 1 minute, but even after that, the phone is never locked. Occurs even after a hard reboot (shutdown, remove battery, power back up), although sometimes the swipe to unlock works for a short time. I've never rooted this phone or done much else beside install some apps from the Android Market. I do have Lookout running.

I'll press the volume toggle to attempt to check the volume and the volume screen will appear, however the level indicator is unresponsive. I press the volume toggle 2 or 3 times and the phone reboots. The sound will work for another 3-4 hours then the same issue. VZW replaced the phone yesterday and the same problem has reappeared on the new device. Contacted Moto and VZW aggain today and was told to, once again, do a master reset.

Not a critical bug, but annoying nonetheless. I have noticed this on my Acer A500 and A100 tablets on ICS as well, so I assume it's an OS problem, not hardware-specific. Wondering if anyone has found a workaround, and would also like Moto to be aware of this so that it can be corrected in the (hopefully) next update.

In both instances, I was streaming music (Pandora), with the phone not plugged into the charger (usb to computer) like I normally do. When the phone battery was starting to get low, (about 40%), the phone shuts completely off. When this happens, the phone doesn't respond to the power button right away, it takes 2-3 minutes and/or a battery pull to get it to boot up again. Anyone else dealt with this or seen this?

This doesnt happen, the only way is to unlock the phone using the slider and drawn the pattern. This is kind of irritating as one can do this basic task in any other phones.
