When I play sounds using iBird on my Droid X, the system reboots (goes back to the eyeball screen) after about 4 to 5 minutes, each and every time. I've tried airplane mode, turning off screen rotate feature, turning off data delivery, turning down the volume and nothing seems to correct this. I have about 6 GB free on my system.
View 1 Repliessince the update, some of my apps that are sound-dependent (such as pandora and overdrive) have stopped playing sounds. there's no error message, the media volume is all the way up, and they appear to be "playing" but no sound comes out. other apps, like Internet and a few games, haven't had this problem. has anyone else experienced this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I am activly chatting with someone, each message recieved is playing the alert sound, and displaying in the notification bar. This didn't happen on my DX. On the DX, all sounds and alerts were muted for an app while I was activly using it. I don't want chat alerts WHILE I am chatting.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my Motorola Electrify since the middle of November last year and didn't really notice it too much for atleast a couple months, but recently if I dont reboot my phone for more than 2 days, and sometimes sooner than that, it will stop playing any notification sounds and just now it didn't even play any ring sound at all when I just received a call. It vibrated, but didn't play any sound. This is getting frustrating. I have even factory reset my phone a few weeks ago because of other things, and it still hasn't fixed this issue. In fact it seems to be getting worse. At first it was SOME notification sounds after 4 or 5 days not rebooting, now its all notification AND ring sounds after just a couple days. I have the app "Tasker" installed and have sounds associated with some profiles, but don't really think thats the problem because its not just sounds associated with the app, its system events too, like receiving a call, etc.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI've found in the Market many apps named like "Anti-mosquito", which claim to be able to keep mosquitos away: indeed, they achieve this by playing high-pitched sounds which are annoying to mosquitos and - yes! - they work.
Of course, this can be done by just playing repeatedly high pitched sounds, which, depending on the kind of mosquito you want to get rid off, may be in the range from 14 to 25 KHz.
Since I don't know whether playing so highly pitched sounds for a long time could damage the phone, I've asked the Italian support. They looked confused, indeed.
At first, they asked which app was I asking about and said that, anyway, all apps from the Market "are developed and managed directly by Google" (sic).
Then, when I pointed out that, put aside the fact that apps in the Market are not being developed by Google, I wasn't talking about apps and software but of particular sounds and hardware, they escalated the question to their technical department.
I was asked again which app I wanted information about (!!) and then, after telling again that I meant nothing more than playing a 14-25 KHz-pitched mp3 for a long time, they answered that no, that may not harm the phone but they couldn't be 100% sure.
I've asked them about the audio playback hardware, about who produced it and whether those latter could answer. The final answer, that they suppose is enough to close my ticket, is that "nobody could say for sure that playing high-pitched tones for a long time wouldn't damage the phone".
This is a nonsense to me, since hardware must have technical specs. Does Motorola International have got a better answer?
My i1 reboots when I play music with the default app. Not all songs but a few cause it to reboot.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been wakened several times a night by notification tones randomly going off for no reason while phone is docked. Seems a lot of folks are having the same experiences. I expect to hear the initial phone docking notification and the battery full notification is turned off so that aint it. I'd turn off notifications but that's a pathetic fix.

Under the heading 'Notifications', I do not have the option of a check box to turn off the notification sounds.All I have is a drop down menu entitled, "Notification Ringtone". Within this menu, I have the options "Android System", "Handcent SMS" and "Zedge ringtones". None of these allow me the option of silencing the phones notification sounds.
What is happening is that I'm getting a double 'notification' tone every time I get a text, and it's driving me crazy. I get an overall notification beep from the phone, then a secondary tone from the Handcent app. And I really want to silence ALL of the phones overall notification sounds, and only receive the ones from the Handcent app when I get a text.
On DROID 2 I can't seem to figure out how to set a different notification sound for each email account (corporate sync, comcast, etc.). Is it possible to do this without installing a 3rd party app? I swear I had this setup before on the DROID 2 (had to do a factory reset to try to resolve an issue), but can't figure it out. My friend has the same issue on the DROID 3 and can't figure it out. I also already know that Gmail can set up different ones if you filter through that, but that's not what I want.

My notification sounds for my texts, my yahoo email and also Facebook will work for a day or two and then they will all stop working. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 3 different LG Tone Bluetooth headsets (700, 730 and I believe the 750) plus a Motorola Roadster part 2 other brands that fit in ear. My wife and I swap them out as our needs fit. For exercise the LG Tone works great or if I want stereo d sound.
Anytime I am on Bluetooth the person on the other end can hear me fine but I can't hear them well. Their voices sound garbled and OT sounds like a fax machine noise in the background. I gave checked with LG, Motorola and Verizon...
My old htc m8 had a box to check in settings so the volume and notifications sounds would be the same.

But then I accidentally hit the voice commands button and the phone started talking. Is there any way to make the phone be totally silent-so that if I went to a web page or hit the voice commands or anything else that makes noise it would still not make any sound?

On my Bionic I couldn't find a way to switch between accounts so I made separate icons for each but it turns out that when I set the sound on one it changes both.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently my Iphone 3GS is having problem when playing music. There is no sound from the built-in speaker. However when making/receving calls the sound from the speaker is fine. I noticed that when I press the volume up/down button, there is no volume level indicator position on the screen, the circular button is missing (attached is the screenshot of the situation). However when a headset speaker is plugges in, the volume indicator level appears fine.
I had try restoring the iphone as a new iphone using my mac (from itunes) but the situation persist.
You know how pushing the power button silences the ringer when someone calls and you don't even have to pull your phone out. It would be nice if you could do that with the notifications also, like text and email etc. Cause sometimes I can't just get my phone out cause I'm doing something or have my hands full and so on. It should be like that with all of the sound where you can just hit the power button to silence the ringer on everything.

Only plays music when a 3.5 mm jack is used an still won't play music at times. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Curve 8330. Had it for about a week, maybe less. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago when the sounds stopped working. Ring tones, incoming text message beeps, etc. just stop working.When I go into the sounds options to preview ringtones, etc. and click play, the play button goes from play, to stop, immediately, regardless of how long the tune is supposed to be.The only thing I've found to fix it, is to pull the battery.

These .wav files played perfectly on my old droid x and play perfectly on my xoom. why they won't they play on my bionic? I used the stock music app on my droid x, double twist also worked. Double twist works great on my xoom tablet. Music nor double twist nor winamp work on my bionic.

No Error with Music or Winamp, the file just does not play.

There's no message corresponding, no notifications. Just random alert sounds and i don't have Highwire set to any apps or alerts.I don't really want to remove the 10 apps or so i've installed in the past few days, i'd rather get down to the source of the problem

Custom ringtone stop working, music & video won't play, custom alarms do not ring, etc., until after a reboot. Sometimes it will happen a few times a day and sometimes it won't happen for a few days.
