Motorola Droid 3 :: Data Roaming Shuts Down
Jul 12, 2011I live in an area covered by Verizon Wireless and a smaller local Cell company, so I have to enable data roaming to get emails in certain places. I've enabled it several times and it will not stay on, it shuts off if I lose service for any ammount of time, or if I restart the phone. Is there any way to keep it permanently enabled?

Jul 4, 2012I'm running ICS on my Razr and cannot connect to GSM in Europe. I have the latest build (recieved in the soak test a little over a week ago), and have international roaming enabled with Verizon (verified this seveal times now). I've been all over France over the last several days, and have not been able to connect anywhere.I've tried, power cycling, hard reset, toggling nework mode (Global, CDMA, GSM), forcing GSM, and just about every setting configuration in the test menu (*#*#4636#*#*). The only thing I can see that may indicate a poblem (beside the fact that I can see, but can't connect to any GSM networks ) is that I can't select the EURO GSM radio band in the test menu.

Motorola Droid Bionic :: Enabling Data Roaming Fixes Connection?
Nov 15, 2011Been having horrendous problems with data connectivity. I take the train from Baltimore to DC every day, and w/my OG Droid, never had problems, even if one or two location only seemed to have 1x available. With my Bionic, however, I am frequently dropping my data connection completely (moreso than it seems when I bought the phone in September -- not 100% sure since I wasn't paying close attention to it those first couple weeks).For the heck of it, I thought I report it on twitter and see what kind of response I would get from @VZWSupport. (I always get better Comcast support from their twitter folks than from my local office).Got a response (see attached graphic).They told me to enable data roaming. Really? Anybody had success with that? I'm worried about running up a huge bill.

Apr 7, 2012The music won't play on my Droid X, running Android version 2.3.4, and I will recieve an errror message saying, "sorry the player does not support this type of audio file." Custom ringtone stop working, music & video won't play, custom alarms do not ring, etc., until after a reboot. Sometimes it will happen a few times a day and sometimes it won't happen for a few days.

Dec 30, 2011When I play sounds using iBird on my Droid X, the system reboots (goes back to the eyeball screen) after about 4 to 5 minutes, each and every time. I've tried airplane mode, turning off screen rotate feature, turning off data delivery, turning down the volume and nothing seems to correct this. I have about 6 GB free on my system.

Jun 24, 2011The volume stops working(no notification sounds, no ringtone, etc...) I'll press the volume toggle to attempt to check the volume and the volume screen will appear, however the level indicator is unresponsive. I press the volume toggle 2 or 3 times and the phone reboots. The sound will work for another 3-4 hours then the same issue. VZW replaced the phone yesterday and the same problem has reappeared on the new device. Contacted Moto and VZW aggain today and was told to, once again, do a master reset.

Jul 9, 2012I've noticed that after the ICS update, newly downloaded and installed widgets from Google Play don't show up in the Widgets list until I reboot. Not a critical bug, but annoying nonetheless. I have noticed this on my Acer A500 and A100 tablets on ICS as well, so I assume it's an OS problem, not hardware-specific. Wondering if anyone has found a workaround, and would also like Moto to be aware of this so that it can be corrected in the (hopefully) next update.

Sep 22, 2011I've had something new start happening to my phone. In both instances, I was streaming music (Pandora), with the phone not plugged into the charger (usb to computer) like I normally do. When the phone battery was starting to get low, (about 40%), the phone shuts completely off. When this happens, the phone doesn't respond to the power button right away, it takes 2-3 minutes and/or a battery pull to get it to boot up again. Anyone else dealt with this or seen this?

Dec 16, 2011Droid RAZR - bought in November from Verizon store. Screen protectors and case are used; phone has experienced no trauma. While in Gmail today, the screen pixellated, became unresponsive, and now is inoperable. The screen appears as a mostly uniform field of slowly shifting color (pink, green) with a perhaps .75 inch bar of white on the bottom; see attached picture (it was hard to get a good shot because of the lighting). The phone still "works" internally - if you call it, it rings; the screen sleeps after an appropriate time and you can push the power button to bring it back; I hear the chime of emails and texts coming in. However, none of the menu/home/back buttons work, and touching the screen apparently does nothing. When I push the power button to "wake" the phone, the previously described white bar appears instantly, and the fuzzy colored remainder of the screen "develops" over about ten seconds.
I forced a reboot via the power button/volume trick, and heard the reboot process - but the same screen issue stayed throughout the reboot.I am at about 15% power; perhaps a complete shutdown forced by loss of battery power will eventually help. Plugging it in to a charger did not help.

Nov 18, 2011The following has been happening since before the latest update, and continued after.My phone will randomly reboot itself (there doesn't seem to be any correlation with what I'm doing) and then hang at the rotating red logo.If I push the power button the display will turn off, but after that no buttons have any effects.If I plug the phone in the display comes back on to the unlock screen, but the touch screen is also unresponsive.The phone is definitely still running though, as my bluetooth headset will reconnect and time-based notifications will still happen (I have the phone set to beep every half hour).If I leave the phone sitting for a significant length of time I will notice it getting warm, and it will eventually reboot again and behave normally.Battery pull does nothing.Wiping the cache partition does nothing.I've done a factory reset before, and this makes the problem go away for a while, but it comes back.

It been rebooting since last night I am not in my office with it plugged in.

Nov 24, 2011On my brand new Razr (24hrs old!) - I have noticed that when the phone boots and the SD card is mounted, there is an Audible sound "DROID" - and its annoying. (Now, I am not talking about the mechanical sound/video that fires up when the phone boots). In Sound Settings I find a section called "SD Card Notifications". You can turn that off or on and here is the odd part. If I turn it On, it will use whatever I have the "Notification Ringtone" set at. That makes sense. If I turn if Off, it will use my "Phone Ring Tone"! - A long MP3... This does not make sense. In other words, I cannot silence it and I would like to. The phone does have a "Silent" ring tone (internally) but it is not one of the available "Notification Ringtones" I can use.

Ok, now after the reboot I had no data connecetion at all now. Took about 10 minutes, I kept playing with the settings and the data finally came back. It was 4G full bars, go figure. Im in Las Vegas not a new fringe area. I can take any issure or bug with this phone except this one, where the phone goes dead and you never know it. I just don't understand. Their actually gonna make me take it on the chin and go buy a different phone.

Jan 7, 2010My brother dropped his phone in the sink while he was shaving and now he wants me to fix it. Anyway, phone still works fine but it will not hold any programing. I called the *228 and it said it succesfully programed and the phone restarted but its says its roaming but its not. Make a call and it connects you to an operator wanting to assist you in making a collect call. I called verizon and manually programed it and still the same thing. After the restart, the phone number in network settings goes back to something that isnt even from around here. The home sid/nid goes back to diffrent values than what verizon gave me. Meid shows all zero's. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this?
