IPhone :: Not Playing Music Or Making The Type Sounds?
Apr 10, 2012
The volume bar when double clicking home button shows momentarily and then disappears and won't play music or make the type sounds or anything like that. Only plays music when a 3.5 mm jack is used an still won't play music at times. The phone is really slow and annoys me.Have tryed resetting, turning off for long periods of time and updating system software.
Recently my Iphone 3GS is having problem when playing music. There is no sound from the built-in speaker. However when making/receving calls the sound from the speaker is fine. I noticed that when I press the volume up/down button, there is no volume level indicator position on the screen, the circular button is missing (attached is the screenshot of the situation). However when a headset speaker is plugges in, the volume indicator level appears fine.
I had try restoring the iphone as a new iphone using my mac (from itunes) but the situation persist.
After playing music from my Blackberry Bold 9780's internal speakers, ALL sounds that come from my Blackberry become distorted. I do a battery pull and it all returns to normal. After playing music again from the internal speakers, the sounds once again become distorted.
My iPhone keeps making the strangest sound... it's completely random, it's not tied to any notification that I can find (and I've been searching...). It is similar to the "Calypso" tone that's built in, but deeper, minor, a bit resonant, more "crap, something's wrong with your phone" sounding. It's an ascending minor third, but not exactly. It happens a few times a day. No pattern to the times. For example, today, it happened around 11:55AM, then around 1:10PM. No emails or texts or notifications happened at those times. Like I said, I've combed through all the notifications and sounds and apps and still haven't found it. I have no way to record it because it happens so randomly.
My iphone 3GS has no sounds now except the phone ringer. I have toggled the mute switch back and forth and it makes no difference. When I go into settings for sounds I see at the top that it is marked silent. However I cannot find any way to switch that off and reset it back to sounds. The only thing that seems to work now is vibrate and the phone ring.
My iPhone 4S sometimes stops playing music by itself while I am playing music. This occurs while my phone is on standby/locked mode; that is I am not using any apps.
AFter recent upgrade to ios 8.1.1, my iphone 6 no longer makes text alert sounds and ring does not sound for incoming calls (except on car bluetooth).Â
My BB 9630 intermittently stops making any sounds when recieving calls or messages of any kind. This has happened 3 times over the last 3 months. It happens after it has been shut down, like overnight, and is restarted. Each time, this problem eventually goes away. It's almost as if the mute button on top of the device is stuck on. When pressing that mute button, there is no indication on the phone that it is on (muted) or off.
After the update my Z2 keeps making notification sounds for no reason. It happens in airplane mode too, and its really getting on my nerves. I check the phone expecting to see a text message or an email or something else, but nothing is there. Ting, ting, ting until I turn the sound off and miss the calls and notifications that I actually want.
My bold 9900 is behaving strange. Gets stuck and sounds or tones while making or receiving calls. Then the message appears like this. Net_rim_bb_ph_app (157) error. Every time having to reboot.
since the update, some of my apps that are sound-dependent (such as pandora and overdrive) have stopped playing sounds. there's no error message, the media volume is all the way up, and they appear to be "playing" but no sound comes out. other apps, like Internet and a few games, haven't had this problem. has anyone else experienced this?
When I play sounds using iBird on my Droid X, the system reboots (goes back to the eyeball screen) after about 4 to 5 minutes, each and every time. I've tried airplane mode, turning off screen rotate feature, turning off data delivery, turning down the volume and nothing seems to correct this. I have about 6 GB free on my system.
I recorded a video using my LG G4 phone, and when I play it back on my G4, while watching it, I get an error "Cannot Play Video, unsupported file type". The video freezes, but I can still hear the video. I never had this issue with Samsung. How do I resolve it?
I have owned a X10 for 1 year now and didnt have any problems until I updated it with the new Sony ericsson updates. Now when I watch movie's or play games make phone calls or something simple like receiving txt messages or emails (or to put it another way, everything the phone was designed to do) the handset simply freezes and makes a terrible buzzing noise for about 4 seconds then it shuts off completely. The phone will then reboot. Sometimes it will crash again immediately and reboot again. I have seen it crash and reboot up to 5 times.
When I am activly chatting with someone, each message recieved is playing the alert sound, and displaying in the notification bar. This didn't happen on my DX. On the DX, all sounds and alerts were muted for an app while I was activly using it. I don't want chat alerts WHILE I am chatting.
Since about 6 hours ago, there was no sound coming out from my phone when I play any media. Neither was there any sound when I made a call. The funny thing is that when I paired it to my Jabra Clipper Bluetooth headset, I could make calls without any problems. However, no sound will come out from the headset when I play any media. he problem persisted even after I did a forced reboot.
My phone has decided to start playing sounds at startup, shutdown and when I plug in my headphone. It will do this in the Silent and All Alerts Off profile as well.how I can get it to stop?
I just bought a Curve 8330. Had it for about a week, maybe less. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago when the sounds stopped working. Ring tones, incoming text message beeps, etc. just stop working. When I go into the sounds options to preview ringtones, etc. and click play, the play button goes from play, to stop, immediately, regardless of how long the tune is supposed to be.The only thing I've found to fix it, is to pull the battery.
I've had my Motorola Electrify since the middle of November last year and didn't really notice it too much for atleast a couple months, but recently if I dont reboot my phone for more than 2 days, and sometimes sooner than that, it will stop playing any notification sounds and just now it didn't even play any ring sound at all when I just received a call. It vibrated, but didn't play any sound. This is getting frustrating. I have even factory reset my phone a few weeks ago because of other things, and it still hasn't fixed this issue. In fact it seems to be getting worse. At first it was SOME notification sounds after 4 or 5 days not rebooting, now its all notification AND ring sounds after just a couple days. I have the app "Tasker" installed and have sounds associated with some profiles, but don't really think thats the problem because its not just sounds associated with the app, its system events too, like receiving a call, etc.
I've found in the Market many apps named like "Anti-mosquito", which claim to be able to keep mosquitos away: indeed, they achieve this by playing high-pitched sounds which are annoying to mosquitos and - yes! - they work.
Of course, this can be done by just playing repeatedly high pitched sounds, which, depending on the kind of mosquito you want to get rid off, may be in the range from 14 to 25 KHz.
Since I don't know whether playing so highly pitched sounds for a long time could damage the phone, I've asked the Italian support. They looked confused, indeed.
At first, they asked which app was I asking about and said that, anyway, all apps from the Market "are developed and managed directly by Google" (sic).
Then, when I pointed out that, put aside the fact that apps in the Market are not being developed by Google, I wasn't talking about apps and software but of particular sounds and hardware, they escalated the question to their technical department.
I was asked again which app I wanted information about (!!) and then, after telling again that I meant nothing more than playing a 14-25 KHz-pitched mp3 for a long time, they answered that no, that may not harm the phone but they couldn't be 100% sure.
I've asked them about the audio playback hardware, about who produced it and whether those latter could answer. The final answer, that they suppose is enough to close my ticket, is that "nobody could say for sure that playing high-pitched tones for a long time wouldn't damage the phone".
This is a nonsense to me, since hardware must have technical specs. Does Motorola International have got a better answer?
My phone will vibrate, but does not audibly ring. The silent switch is not set, If i go into the settings menu, the ringer menu files are missing.
All other sounds work flawlessly, music plays, keyboard clicks away and voicemail, and text alerts come through, it's just the ringer that's problematic.
My iPhone will not play my music through its built in speaker or headphones, but it will play music when I connect it to my ihome. Also my ringtone will play so I know the speaker is not broken. When I try to play music it does not give me an option to adjust volume and the buttons on the side will not adjust the volume either.
whenever I try to play music on my iPhone 4, the music stays at 0:00 and never plays the song. This even happens when I'm not wearing my Beats and when my phone isn't connected to an iHome. It works fine on iPad and MacBook Pro.
When I go to the music player and select a song to play, I get a message that tells me to plug in my headphones. The issue is that my headphones are plugged in. I didn't have this issue a week ago. I was listening to my music just fine. I have rebooted the device several times already. The weird thing is that I can hear the boot up sounds through my headphones, as well as notifications. I just can't play music. I have the same issue with the FM radio.
