IPhone :: How To Stop Music From Playing
May 12, 2012Songs start playing spontaneously ever since I did an update to my iphone 4 and have the "music" icon instead of the "ipod" icon on the phone. I stop the music and make sure the music app isn't even open but the songs just start up by the themselves anyway. Help. this makes the battery run down and is very embarassing when I'm in the middle of a meeting!

Jul 3, 2012I just got my iphone and don't even hardly know what an app is. I suppose if you compared it to an icon on a computer I might better understand.or not. Anyway I downloaded some itunes music and started it playing and I don't know how to close it/make it stop.And other things I opened I get the feeling they are still open and running in the background. How do I shut them down when I don't want to be using them?

Oct 5, 2011For some reason, walking to my car this morning, my Atrix began to play an audiobook file (MP3). One that I had listened to days ago.
After months of using the phone and happily listening to audio books this issue has just occured this morning.
I swiped open the phone only to find that the (stock) music player was not actually running. Have not been able to find a way to stop the file(s) from playing.
Observations:
1. rebooting the phone simply restarts the playback of the file from its begining.
2. When the phone is sleeping (screen black), I have no control of the volume (as I would using media player)
3. If I swipe the phone to vibrate or silent, the playback goes silent (though I believe it continues playing)
4. I don't believe I have any ther media players installed.
5. Attempting to play a file in the (stock) music player, results in the file trying to play (the slider moves left to right), but only the audiobook is audible.
6. Have tried cycling power, removing battery, and ManageApps->clearing cache, and even uninstalling a number of downloaded apps - nothing helps.
7. I don't believe my phone vibrates any longer when I receive a notification for incoming text or email.

Sep 25, 2012If I want to have my phone available for handsfree calls and hear the directional prompts using Nokia Drive in my 2011 Acura TSX (not tech package) I have to have the audio set to Bluetooth Audio. But when I do that the Music app automatically starts and plays music. I can turn it off (using the Stop the Music app), but it comes back on after a few seconds. How can I make it stop playing music?

Feb 6, 2014Have had my HTC One since last September. Never had any issues until today. No matter what music app I'm using, even Google play, the music will stop playing. It happens on different songs and with different headphones. The headphones icon still shows stays up. So the plug is good. But I have to keep unlocking my phone and restart the app. It's like every app closes. I'm running all stock. Never rooted. I restarted my phone. It worked for a few minutes but started up again.
Also noticed when you lose Internet connection a phrase down on the bottom of the screen pops up that says "yikes you lost Internet connection" I've never seen this before. Especially using the word "yikes" seems odd to me. I'm was on my home screen when it happened.

Aug 26, 2015I connect my phone to my car's Bluetooth system during my drive to work in the morning in case I get a call. I usually listen to a podcast on my iPod, then switch to a CD if the podcast episode ends before I get to work. To do so, I flip past my Bluetooth audio setting on my radio. I've already disabled the Bluetooth connection for media in my phone, but all that's done is stop music from playing through the speakers of my car. My phone still begins to auto-play music, either music that's stored in my phone or launching Spotify and starting to play what I last listened to on there. I really don't like having to go onto my phone and close the app while I'm driving.

Dec 13, 2011I synced all songs in my iTunes with my new Motorola Atrix 2. It downloaded all the songs to my 16gb microsd card. When I play songs on my music player with my headphones, the music will stop randomly. Some other times it won't stop and will play for a long time. I had a feeling it was somehow related to turning the screen off using the power button after I start my playlist but I am not sure about it. Again with this case, sometimes it stops and other times it would play correct. There are some apps as on my auto-end list but music player isn't one of them

I didn't have this issue a week ago. I was listening to my music just fine. I have rebooted the device several times already. Mar 19, 2012I started facing something weird today with the Music.app on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. The music from the Music.app stops playing as soon as I leave the app. This happens if I try to switch to another app, or press the home button or even lock the screen with the app in the foreground. It automatically starts playing as soon as I reopen the app. When the screen is locked, double tapping the home button brings up the iPod controls. But the play button there doesnt respond and the same thing happens with the play button from the multitasking tray too. It's as though the Music App can no longer play in the background.
