I noticed recently that I was having to push harder on my hard keys and when I took the time to think about out, I noticed my keys are no longer raised, but level with the screen.
View 6 RepliesThis has happened to me about three times. I always manually press the power key to turn off the display and lock the phone before placing it in my pocket. Three times now, I have removed the phone from my pocket and found the soft keys lit up but the screen is black. The only key that responds is the power button... nothing else works. Every press of the power button toggles the soft key backlight, but nothing else. The only remedy I have found is to pull the battery.

I have to hit the back key multiple times if I'm within an app to get back to my homescreen so I can open the app drawer.

View 11 Replies View RelatedRAZR Maxx My problem is about the 4 bottom icons/buttons/keys (Menu, Home, Back, Search) not lighting properly. When in a fairly dark room they always stay lit. Last night before sundown the icons were not lit. It was too dark to see them without being lit. It also depended on the position. I do not know if this was due to internal position sensors or just getting different levels of light from the light sensors. I called Verizon Tech Support and they said this was normal. It may be "normal" but hard to use the phone if I cannot see the icons/buttons/keys.
View 13 Replies View RelatedWithout warning, my soft keys stopped working. When I press one, they activate whatever is on the touch screen above them. (For instance, the menu soft key is right below the widget on my home page for contacts. When I press the menu soft key, it activates the contacts widget rather then accessing menus.) I tried a factory reset (I'll spare you the frustrating story of how the backup app I paid for doesn't seem to have worked as promised for me, though thousands of others love it), which included clearing the cache and was done using the external keys not via the reset option in settings. Freshly restarted, prior to adding any of the apps or changing anything, the soft keys still exhibit that behaviour. (Though, come to think of it, I also think the wallpaper stayed, which makes no sense to me. Everything else had to be reconfigured and the reset/cache clearing didn't throw any errors...hmz...)
The Droid 2 keyboard has a back button, which I've been using non-stop since the soft keys went out on me. And a search button, but I never use that. I can get by without a way to simulate having the home key (though I wouldn't mind that). But, as you can imagine, the lack of a functioning Menu key is a serious impediment. I love my Droid 2 enough that, rather than use my "new every 2" to upgrade to a Droid 4, I'm hoping to either fix my issue (which could include fixing the soft keys OR findind a keyboard shortcut for the Menu key) or buy a "new" Droid 2.
So, anyone have either a troubleshooting suggestion other than a reset (tried twice now) and/or know a magical shortcut on the physical keyboard that will do the same thing as the Menu soft key?(Phone is not rooted and has the latest version of Android that Verizon pushed...Looks like 2.3.4)
I just bought the Droid 4 yesterday and the keys do not react until I press them about 3 or 4 times. Is something wrong with the phone, should I take it back, or is this a deficiency with all Droid 4 phones. Is there a sensitivy setting for the menu keys.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Motorola support page that tells you how to do a factory data reset gives two methods: Settings and External Keys. It also says that using the Settings method is preferable. Does anyone know why the Settings method is preferred? Is the outcome of both methods the same? The instructions (and user guide) say that the Settings method doesn't erase your external SD card, and will only erase internal storage if you choose to. Does the External Keys method work the same way? (I've used those key strokes to clear the data cache, but can't remember what the other choices are).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got a RAZR less than 10 days ago, and sometime over the past few days, I noticed that the soft keys no longer illuminate and the proximity sensor on the top of the phone isn't working. They both seemed to stop working at the same time, and I can't figure why and how to fix it. The soft key issue is not the biggest deal, since I know which ones are which anyway. But the more annoying issue is the sensor not working, so that when I'm on calls and have the phone up to my ear, the screen won't shut off automatically, and turn back on again once removed from my face. It gets quite annoying having to hit the power button every time to shut the screen on and off during calls. Has this happened to anyone else?

With Lollipop, contacts that have multiple phone numbers now only display one phone number and there is a "see all" button that I need to push to see the additional phone numbers. I have tried to find a setting that would make it so all of the information was displayed but can't find one. Other than downloading a new contacts app...

View 4 Replies View RelatedPrior to the ICS upgrade I was able to receive and view text messages through Ford Sync. After the upgrade I still have the MAP option toggles available on Ford Sync setup screens but Sync doesn't display a new text message notification and when I tell it to download existing text messages from the phone it starts to and then displays "downloading error". I've unpaired and paired the Razr Maxx several times without success. One of the primary reasons I bought the Razr Maxx over other phones was because it supported the MAP profile.

Initially, one of my accounts kept falling out of Push into Fetch.Last night I did a factory reset to see if that would help. Of course, to make things interesting, this morning I had the new firmware update waiting to be installed, so I let that go in.Strange enough, now both my accounts are falling from push to fetch. Im a long time DX user, so I'm sure I have my settings correct. View 4 Replies View RelatedOur facility uses Exchange Server 2003, and I have not had problems with my Corporate Sync e-mail since receiving Froyo back in September. If I was sitting at my desk, I would consistently get a push notification on my phone a few seconds before I saw a new e-mail pop up on the Web Access client on my PC. It was great.All of a sudden, I am getting nothing. I missed several important e-mails over the weekend, and my phone will not show new messages unless I open the E-mail client and manually Refresh.
I have removed/re-added the Account a couple of times, but that doesn't seem to do any good. I have a colleague who has an Incredible, and his work e-mails are working just fine, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem with the Exchange server. The login/password aren't wrong, since I can Refresh and receive my new messages, but why would the push e-mail just halt? Are there known problems on the Blur servers? If so, is there a way we can find out about that without having to just miss a bunch of e-mails?
Is push for Yahoo Mail actually supported through the built in e-mail client? I have it enabled in the preferences, but it doesn't seem to work. I thought it was working when I first setup the account, but I may have been imagining things. I've gone through the process of deleting the account multiple times and also clearing the mobile settings/permissions in my yahoo account profile.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using the email app for my work email. It's using the IMAP protocol. I'm not using the corporate sync functionality. After doing a manual sync by pressing the refresh icon, I would get emails pushed to my phone fine. However, after some time emails stop getting pushed to my phone. The period of time when push seems to be working varies around a few hours. When it stops working I have to do a manual sync again in order to get push to work for another few hours.

I'm just a designer and photographer that requires this kind of equipment for my work. I waited 3 generations for Apple to work out its bugs and when I saw the iPhone 4, I knew it was time to buy. Everyone has been talking about the antennae. It's pretty much been talked to death, so yeah, I have that same issue and I use a rubber bumper. But, am I the only one that really confused about the strength of the glass? Apple writes, "Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic". But I've never had any plastic item, no matter how fragile shatter when dropped. Is this not a blatant marketing deception? Can anyone tell me if they've ever dropped a plastic anything and it shattered?
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo I have finally gotten my parts from sw-box and I was excited (matte black bezel + top cover + new keypad). The bezel is decent quality. It fits nice but...... it was fragile and I managed to break a tab for some reason? It is now stuck in my phones midplate which I will later remove by taking EVERYTHING out! I've taken out my stock silver bezel so many times the tabs have never broken so I know I wasn't doing anything wrong.
The only problem I didnt have was the battery cover it fits nice and snug, has a nice weight and the BMW etching on it is nice. The top cover... I have compared the stock cover and the sw-box cover and I noticed that the sw-box cover was shorter AND harder than the stock cover. This resulted in a gap on the top part of the phone and EXTREMELY hard force required to press the lock button and mute key.
The keyboard... well it definitely is NOT a oem! i even ordered the "OEM" or any modeled keyboard like on cnn.cn the buttons are bad, lighting is uneven I will be ordering from CNN.cn next to see how everything is there.. I have ordered many parts for my 9630 there and had no problems for anything what so ever
past one week my E75 screen has decided to start playing up. The light on the keyboard lights up fine but the screen backlight only comes on when I push down hard on a certain part of the screen or give it a good whack. Anyone experienced this before and know how I might be able to fix it?
