Motorola Droid 4 :: Comcast Does Not Support Email Push?
Feb 19, 2012
I just got the Droid 4 and when setting up my e-mail, in the settings it states that Comcast does not support email push. My Droid X supperted push. Why doesn't the Droid 4??
I have all the requisite settings correct set to push, data push turned on for accounts xxxx and yyyy, data enabled, background data enabled, data saver disabled.
I have been checking and deleting emails from my phone. When I logged on to my computer, all the emails that I deleted were still on the computer showing as unread. How do I link them so that when I delete the emails from my phone, they will also be gone from my computer?
I've had my RAZR about a week coming from a Droid X, so I know this worked before.I have 2 corp sync accounts with my home broadband provider, Frontier. Initially, one of my accounts kept falling out of Push into Fetch.Last night I did a factory reset to see if that would help. Of course, to make things interesting, this morning I had the new firmware update waiting to be installed, so I let that go in.Strange enough, now both my accounts are falling from push to fetch. Im a long time DX user, so I'm sure I have my settings correct. When I run that "verify server" it comes back with "success" Doing some searching, I got a hit on the Bionic forum, but no resolution....[URL]
Is push for Yahoo Mail actually supported through the built in e-mail client? I have it enabled in the preferences, but it doesn't seem to work. I thought it was working when I first setup the account, but I may have been imagining things. I've gone through the process of deleting the account multiple times and also clearing the mobile settings/permissions in my yahoo account profile.
I'm using the email app for my work email. It's using the IMAP protocol. I'm not using the corporate sync functionality. After doing a manual sync by pressing the refresh icon, I would get emails pushed to my phone fine. However, after some time emails stop getting pushed to my phone. The period of time when push seems to be working varies around a few hours. When it stops working I have to do a manual sync again in order to get push to work for another few hours.
Why doesn't this feature exsist for IMAP servers that support PUSH in the latest iOS? Will it be added to iOS in the future, or is Apple not supporting it so you have to use Message or something else? It's quite anoying not being able to have my mail show up as fast as it does on my Windows email client using push on my IMAP account. My first experience emailing on an iOS device is that it's a bit stone age with IMAP support. Change this, and I'll be more likely to buy Apple products again in the future , if not, I will be ditching it

I can get email on my computer, iPad and iPhone through my comcast account but when I try to send email I get an error - The user name or password for account name is invalid.

Has anyone else had trouble setting up their Mac mail on their cell phone to send Comcast email? I have tried all settings given to me by Comcast but nothing seems to work. I do not have trouble sending on my Mac computer.
Info: iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1, Works on Mac not on iPhone
My iphone is not notifying me when I have mail.... Does the mail program support push? I have push enabled in mail settings but I am still not receiving notification unless I touch the mail icon at which time it searches for new email.
One of the major reasons for me buying the Droid Razr, was because it had the Bluetooth "MAP" Profile.SMS messages would sync directly to my car. The BMW Voice Module would read the messages to me.This use to work with my car, but since the software Maintence Upgrayyde, I have lost this function. 2012 BMW with Bluetooth.
I noticed recently that I was having to push harder on my hard keys and when I took the time to think about out, I noticed my keys are no longer raised, but level with the screen.
In Kit Kat, when I looked at a contact, all of the information for that contact was displayed, including multiple phone numbers. With Lollipop, contacts that have multiple phone numbers now only display one phone number and there is a "see all" button that I need to push to see the additional phone numbers. I have tried to find a setting that would make it so all of the information was displayed but can't find one. Other than downloading a new contacts app...
My Droid Turbo has stopped receiving push notifications from several apps including Twitter and Gmail. I was recently out of town this weekend and ever since the 2nd day of my vacation my phone has stopped receiving push notifications.
Prior to the ICS upgrade I was able to receive and view text messages through Ford Sync. After the upgrade I still have the MAP option toggles available on Ford Sync setup screens but Sync doesn't display a new text message notification and when I tell it to download existing text messages from the phone it starts to and then displays "downloading error". I've unpaired and paired the Razr Maxx several times without success. One of the primary reasons I bought the Razr Maxx over other phones was because it supported the MAP profile.
I believe, perhaps incorrectly, especially with unlimited data going away on launch day for this phone, that this is a ploy to force users into higher data usage by forcing them to stream the same content over verizons network. I would love to be proven wrong on this point, and see some official radio support from moto, but this is the only thing that makes sense to me. mu $.02.
Our facility uses Exchange Server 2003, and I have not had problems with my Corporate Sync e-mail since receiving Froyo back in September. If I was sitting at my desk, I would consistently get a push notification on my phone a few seconds before I saw a new e-mail pop up on the Web Access client on my PC. It was great. All of a sudden, I am getting nothing. I missed several important e-mails over the weekend, and my phone will not show new messages unless I open the E-mail client and manually Refresh.
I have removed/re-added the Account a couple of times, but that doesn't seem to do any good. I have a colleague who has an Incredible, and his work e-mails are working just fine, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem with the Exchange server. The login/password aren't wrong, since I can Refresh and receive my new messages, but why would the push e-mail just halt? Are there known problems on the Blur servers? If so, is there a way we can find out about that without having to just miss a bunch of e-mails?
I want to upgrade from the current 8GB card to a 32GB card. I bought a class 10 card (instead of the class 4 that was shipped with the phone. I would like to know if it is supported but I cannot find a spec anywhere.
Just got my phone yesterday but there appears to be no support for video Skype. Does anyone know if this is to force you to use Google Talk or will Skype eventually be working with RAZR.
I have been reading articles about the new iphone and the ability to talk and surf at the same time. It seems that the new iPhone 5 will not be able to do this on Verizon and Sprint. This would really effect any one who may use hot spot sharing. Maybe I am just reading into this to much, or is this a possible move to keep iPhone off the VZW and S off there networks because it is a data hog? I just seems like a step back wards. I hope this doesn't move over to the android phones. It sounds like it may just be a limitation of the new iPhone's ability to work on several different networks, but don't you think a new device would have that covered? Just one more reason not to move over to Apple. I will keep my bionic as long as I can, and then purchase another android. After playing with some new phones the other day like the SIII, I think I will still be getting another Motorola when the time comes. The Motorola phone just flows better IMHO. [URL]
Will the next version of the Droid Bionic OS (Jelly Bean) have webtop support? I'm considering purchasing a lapdock, but I'll hold off if the next version (which is promised within the coming months) doesnt support the webtop application. I'm hoping they will atleast add in webtop 3.0 which is currently on ICS, but I'm not sure if thats compatible or doable.
Does the RAZR hardware support USB host mode? Will it function under Gingerbread? Will it function under ICS? I know the Galaxy S2 support this. I expect the Galaxy Nexus will. I want the RAZR and I hope it also supports this, at least under ICS.
