Motorola Droid :: Text Message Entry Hangs, Then Exits?
Oct 15, 2011Droid2 2.2.3 just started a new (2 me) issue. I start typing a new text msg and it hangs after 4-9 characters, then exits, dumping the new msg.

Jun 28, 2011I can type an entire message and it will take sometimes a few minutes for the phone to "catch up" and fill out all the words I entered.
Reminds me of really old computers - where you can type and the cursor is way behind..

Jun 12, 2012Droid Razr 16, google speech app - when using speech app to dictate text mesage, and more than one sent to same person in short period of time (5-10 minutes), the first text message is resent rather than the second text message which has been dictated and appears in the confirmation/edit window. Verizon Wireless tech support was stumped, and no help in the online motorola tech support either.

Jun 2, 2011In the native Text Message application I am finding that for one contact, that I notice, the conversation is not grouping inbound and outbound messages. For all others it is. For example: If I open the Text Message application I can see two entries for the same contact. The first entry is all the messages I have sent to this contact. The second entry is for all the messages this contact has sent me. I have deleted the contact and recreated and it still occurring.

Jul 25, 2011This has happened since day one and has happened on 2 devices. It has happened in the stock messaging app as weel as chomp and handcent. I sometimes get as many as 6 of the same message. It doesn't happen all of the time, but too much for me. I've tried clearing the cache and I even did a master reset wih no luck.

Sep 29, 2011Now that I've had this happen a couple of times and I know I wasn't hallucinating, I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed it.Sometimes, when I get a new text message, I pull down the notification bar, click the notification, and it takes me to a blank text thread, addressed to the person who sent me the message, just as if I was sending a brand new text in a brand new thread to that person. If I back out of it and go back to text messaging, their name is still showing in bold blue, indicating there is a new message, and I can click it and everything is there as expected.

I had a samsung charge that had this feature and it was great option. When you are getting emails all day and calendar appointments notification showing up. Sep 18, 2011My wife has a Droid X which has recently started acting up in the last few weeks. Using the stock Text Messaging app, when she responds to a text message, the receipent name and number is not the person who sent it, but someone else (usually someone she texted with recently). Sending it, it goes to the wrong person. Turning off/on the phone only helps for a short time, as it happens rather quickly again. I have done a Factory Reset on the phone twice and still it happens. I have even gone as far as installing Handcent and she still has the issue, but many times it will show the correct receipent name, but goes to someone else.
The phone is running:

Sep 5, 2012just reporting an issue I have noticed with ICS on my Droid RAZR. If I have a text message conversation open and receive a new message from the same contact, the notification icon pops up, I'm properly notified, but then it won't clear without backing out of the conversation to the higher level text messaging section. I have had success a few times with tapping on the new message to clear the notification icon, but not all the time. This was not an issue I noticed with the previous version of Android.

Dec 23, 2011Airtime FREE VZW software update! Due to network changes you must dial *228 in VZW coverage area, press SEND & choose Option 1 to reprogram phone.I tried it for kicks. It won't let you on a 4G device with a SIM card. The message tells me "SIM card has activated your service and updated your phone's roaming capabilities."So I guess with the SIM we no longer have to update roaming using *228 as in the past. I am guessing Verizon sent the message by mistake.
