haven't seen this issue brought up yet but it is being talked about on the verizon community website. have you guys noticed that the droid razr does not recieve or send all text messages. it is very random and does not always happen with the same person or service carrier.

I have a Droid Razr XT912. All of a sudden, I'm not receiving any text messages!! Messaging worked fine when I first got the phone (a few weeks ago), then a couple of days ago, there was a huge delay in getting texts (of a few hours to an entire day), and now, no text messages whatsoever (I know for sure that three separate people have texted me a few times and I've gotten nothing!). I dont' think it's a service issue, as I move around quite a lot and the messages haven't ever arrived (plus, I called my provider and they said everything was fine on their end, but I suppose that's what they always say).
Not sure what the problem is. I haven't made any big changes to the phone since when I received text messages without any problem. Calls/e-mails/updates/apps/etc.still working fine, but curiously, my weather widget stopped updating about a week ago, and still refuses to work, even though my coverage is allegedly fine.Ideas? I'm desperate as most of my communication is done through text.or what it's worth, I live in China and my service provider is China Telecom. The phone has been unlocked and rooted
I just started sending some text msg and now next to each msg sent is a blue box with Send G in it. What is this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedDroid Razr 16, google speech app - when using speech app to dictate text mesage, and more than one sent to same person in short period of time (5-10 minutes), the first text message is resent rather than the second text message which has been dictated and appears in the confirmation/edit window. Verizon Wireless tech support was stumped, and no help in the online motorola tech support either.

I had a samsung charge that had this feature and it was great option. When you are getting emails all day and calendar appointments notification showing up. It is easy to miss text messages notification.

Any ideas? The dealer worked on this today and found that all the other phones which were owned by employees worked without this message.

I never had this issue on my iPhone. Is there any way to disable this feature? I dislike it a great deal! So much so it will curtail my text messaging significantly

If I have a text message conversation open and receive a new message from the same contact, the notification icon pops up, I'm properly notified, but then it won't clear without backing out of the conversation to the higher level text messaging section. I have had success a few times with tapping on the new message to clear the notification icon, but not all the time. This was not an issue I noticed with the previous version of Android.

I end up sending anywhere between 3 and 15 emails. and also get a "message not sent" display at the notifcation bar. My other incoming emails (except gmail) I get between 10 and 20 copies of emails coming in. I have tried restarting, reinitializing the email clients. etc with no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUnfortunately I got the ICS update a couple of weeks ago. I use my Razr Maxx as a business phone and since the update I can no longer email 'groups'. I have deleted the groups and entered them again....I have spent HOURS on the phone with Motorola and Verizon and all they keep doing is guessing at the cause. Motorola actually remotely accessed my phone and tried to figure out why this isn't working now with NO LUCK! I should be able to enter the group name in the To: and the group pull up. But it appears as though someone has FAILED to enable this simple function. Why in GOD's name even have 'groups'. I could do this on my blackberry in 2002. What a failure.
To be clear.This was no issue until the ICS update.it doesn't work on either Gmail or the Corp Exchange acct.This is clearly a failure and will take some type of update to fix.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my Droid Razr cannot receive an mp3 through MMS if it is over 54 seconds in length. Anything under 54 seconds comes through no problem.
some background. I am a paramedic and we are paged from a central dispatch. When this page goes out we have software that will record it and send it via MMS to our phones.as a secondary paging for some reason if it is over 54 seconds in length I will get the txt but not the file. This goes the same if it is emailed to me. It is not just my phone my co worker has a Droid Razr also and has same problem. other co workers with casio, LG and other phones get them with no problem so I have concluded it is Motorola that has put this in. Spent long times with Verizon and Motorola supports with no success (dont think they understand what I mean)
I took an mp3 and started cutting it back second by second until I was able to recieve it this is how I know 54 seconds is the magic length. also the file is only 500k so well under the size limit.
now to make things a bit more compicated. If I connect to the computer and d/l the file to my phone it will work. I can even txt said file back to myself and recieve it but if I txt it to my phone from computer again it will not let me have the file.
i am tired of all the problems i've been having since the ICS update. the final straw? A LOT of people unrelated to each other have told me they have called me and text me numerous times yet i receive nothing. wow, after the fifth call you answer the phone and you never responded to my text comments are getting pretty annoying. i hope that with a clean slate i have a better experience with ICS. it's amazing how ICS was released in November of last year and after 7 months of production Motorola screws things up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is odd and Motorola Tech support has no idea.For some reason photos taken in portrait end up in lanscape and upside down (sideways) to recipient when sent via MMS. I have sent test pics to myself and three other phones, HTC, Bionc and S3 they all recieve them in lanscape. this didn't happen with my old T-bolt! Portrait photo's were sent and received as portrait.Motorola could not not confirm if this is an issue as they have nothing noted. They didn't have a phone with service to test. They want me to do a full restore and then send the phone in if that doesn't work. I want to make sure this issue is just confined to my phone before I go down the replacement road. I'm still with-in my 14 day Verizon return time and if this is an issue for all M's, it's a deal breaker.Can someone text an mms picture to themself taken portrait and see if they recieve it in portrait? That would be very beneficial for both myself and Motorola.Not sure if it matters but my phone askes me if I want to resize photo every time I try to send via text.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my Razr M, from time to time the phone will stop getting mail. Push is on. Normally works fine, however in the last few days, I'll notice that there is no mail and the last update was hours ago. If I reboot the phone, it all works again. Three different exchange accounts on the phone and the problem happens will all three accounts at the same time. When this does happen, I still have internet connectivity. Wifi or 4g makes no difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Razr paired with a Blue Parrot BTX-250. Most of the time(not all), when either making or receiving a call, the phone is broadcasting static to the speaker circuit of the BT. People can still hear and understand me. The static lasts for anywhere from 1/2 second to 5 seconds then goes away. It is only doing this during calls. I can use the voice command to initiate a call and the phone understands me and I can understand it, then when the Razor connects the phone circuit to the BT it will give the static(most of the time). Went to a Verizon store and tech guy verified all this. BT is two months old and worked fine with last phone last week. We are fairly certain it is a software issue with Droid.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOn two occasions now, I've sent a text message to a group using the Verizon message app. The first time, some contacts were in my contact list and others weren't. I entered their numbers putting a space after them. I send the message, and see the following: sent to some.
I then added all numbers to my contact list. The second time I sent a text, I just kept going back to the contact list and adding each person to the text. I sent it out, and again it says: sent to some.Why can I not send a group text?
Am I the only Droid 2 who is sending double txt messages? And I think it know why its been doing it on the two phones I've used. If you start a message with the touch screen, you get lazy and open the keyboard and finish the message. Close the screen after you click send. 75% of the time you will send a double text message.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed that when I get messages (usually MMS with pictures) from my someone who sent the message to multiple recipients, if I touch the icon at the top of the message thread, next to "Multiple Recipients", with the four greyed out heads (where the normal contact picture is), I'm able to see who else the message was sent to. This includes people and phone numbers that I do not have in my contacts list. I'm concerned about this, because if I were to be the one sending a message to multiple recipients, I could see a situation where I would send it to multiple people but not want to disclose everyone's phone number to everyone else. Isn't this a privacy concern or violation? There should be a way to turn this off on the sending end.

In one text coversation this morning with my wife, about 60% of the texts she sent me were received multiple times. (she on Dx2). This happens randomply and with texts received from friends on other carriers. This started happening sometime after one of the last updates, but I have not had a lot of extra time to research it. I did search the forum but found no similiar problems.
