Motorola Droid Razr :: Maxx Not Sending Exchange Email With Attachments?
Apr 21, 2012
I have a Droid razr maxx and an exchange server with it configured on.my phone However now Im having trouble sending any email with my razr maxx on the exchange account if I try and add any sort of attachment to the email it refuses to send just sits in my outbox?
This bug is tied to the use of the Tasks app when syncing tasks with my Corporate Sync account. On the PC side, our company uses Outlook 2007 SP3, and the Exchange server version is 14.1.355.4001.This phone is on System version: 6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US The bug is that the Snoozing of notifications is not being sync'd between the PC and the Maxx.Steps to reproduce, scenario A (Snooze action performed on PC):
1) Create task with a reminder in the future. Example --> Start: 11/8/2012, Due: 11/8/2012, Reminder: 11/8/2012 11:45AM
2) Await Reminder Notification on both the PC and Maxx (ie, ensuring newly generated task has sync'd out successfully)
3) On the PC, snooze the reminder
4) Wait a while, note Snooze is not sync'd to Maxx regardless of wait duration
Steps to reproduce, scenario B (Snooze action performed on Maxx):
1) Create task with a reminder in the future. Example --> Start: 11/8/2012, Due: 11/8/2012, Reminder: 11/8/2012 12:15PM
2) Await Reminder Notification on both the PC and Maxx (ie, ensuring newly generated task has sync'd out successfully)
3) On the Maxx, snooze the reminder
4) Wait a while, note Snooze is not sync'd to the PC regardless of wait duration The tasks app is a good one, hope to help iron out remaining tidbits to make it even better.
As the title says, I have a Droid Turbo that will not send emails with a few photos coming to about 15 MB. Same thing happens with our Razr M and Droid Minis, but my iPhone 6 doesn't seem to have an issue. Thought I could do something similar as the iPhone and choose what size I want the photos to be when I send (to at least make the email smaller), but I can't seem to find anything like that either. We are running Exchange 2010 and do not have any email size requirements set for incoming/outgoing mail or for the ActiveSync policy. They just sit in the Outbox until I delete them.
I have a razr maxx hd and ever since I did the jellybean update, my corporate email will synch correctly for a few hours and then stop synching. This may last for couple of hours or all day. I have deleted the account several times and also have done a FDR. I am still having the same problem. The coporate email is one of the main functions that I use my phone for, so its very important that it works correctly. I have tried it off WIFI and on WIFI with the same issues. It just periodically loses connection with the server and gives error message that says "Couldn't find connection to server". Like I said, this may last for only couple of hours or most of the day and then it just starts working again.
On my unrooted Droid Razr Maxx my email (Gmail works properly) doesn't sync all the time. Sometimes, it syncs as they are received and sometimes I have to refresh. If I don't refresh every hour I can an entire day without receiving an email.
Neither the email icon or the email widget show the number of unread emails. My previous phone (Droid Inc 2) did show how many unread emails were in the account. Does anyone know how to get the icon or the widget to show this? I have an exchange and a mac email set up.
I just received my new Razr Maxx today and when I try to setup my Gmail and Yahoo email accounts I keep getting the message "Invalid Credentials" My passwords have not changed so not sure whats going on.
Unfortunately I got the ICS update a couple of weeks ago. I use my Razr Maxx as a business phone and since the update I can no longer email 'groups'. I have deleted the groups and entered them again....I have spent HOURS on the phone with Motorola and Verizon and all they keep doing is guessing at the cause. Motorola actually remotely accessed my phone and tried to figure out why this isn't working now with NO LUCK! I should be able to enter the group name in the To: and the group pull up. But it appears as though someone has FAILED to enable this simple function. Why in GOD's name even have 'groups'. I could do this on my blackberry in 2002. What a failure.
To be clear. This was no issue until the ICS update.it doesn't work on either Gmail or the Corp Exchange acct. This is clearly a failure and will take some type of update to fix.
A coworker has a DOD encryption device on his computer. Whenever he sends me any email from his computer, I get the feather with the red exclamation point and the message [Unable to decrypt this message]. If I click on the red exclamation point I get the following:Digital signature informationDigital signature error.RROR: Unable to get certificatedata. My previous Droid 1 would display the messages from my coworkers computer without an error. We use a Microsoft Exchange email server. What do I need to do to be able to view emails from this coworker? He forwarded me the same message from his iPhone 3S and I was able to view it. So it has something to do with the encryption. I saw someone had the same problem on the Droid Razr HD / Droid HD MAXX forum.
I have searched other forums but have not found a fix. While configuring my Exchange signature block on my Razr it all looks great but the recipient sees phone numbers and address as hyperlinks, instead of just email address as a link. The phone and address links obviously go no where once clicked.
On my Razr M, from time to time the phone will stop getting mail. Push is on. Normally works fine, however in the last few days, I'll notice that there is no mail and the last update was hours ago. If I reboot the phone, it all works again. Three different exchange accounts on the phone and the problem happens will all three accounts at the same time. When this does happen, I still have internet connectivity. Wifi or 4g makes no difference.
I thought ICS was suppose to extend battery life? My MAXX wont last very long lately since the ICS, And its suppose to have a very long battery life, what happened?
I purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.
Me and my wife both have the MAXX. My wife has recently experienced a bug with the stock Keyboard where it will phase in on top of her screen with out the keys (No letters) for no reason. She noticed it a few weeks ago and because it only happened once or twice thought nothing of it. Recently it has gotten progressively worse and seems to act up the most when her phone is in the Dock(Desk Top). She has not DL any Keyboard APs or any none market APs.
I received my Razr Maxx just days after release and after my poor experience with the X2 I was ready for a change. Everything was fantastic until I updated my phone two days ago. As far as I can tell the update was designed to: Decrease battery life Change many of my settings (without warning) Slow down every action on the phone (I have had to give up on so many simple tasks) Make my picture gallery impossible to access (it takes approximately five years to load the thumbnails) Make things like applications and widgets more difficult to access ( really? No more long press on a home screen for access to widgets and apps?) Where the heck did my camera quick launch go on my home screen (I lock my phone with a PIN; and by the way what the heck is up with the giant '0' button on my PIN pad?) Did I mention slow down everything?? If I am listening to music I can't turn my phone to vibrate or even adjust the ringer volume without going into my settings, plus the music widget covers the entire top of the lock screen where the volume controls live.
Last night my droid razr maxx turned off without me powering it down. I tried to turn it back on, but nothing happened. I plugged it in a still nothing happened, the light didn't even flash. I know the battery did not die because I still had abour 70% left and leaving it plugged in all night did not help. My best guess is that it crashed, If anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it or knows what may have caused it I would like to know so it will not happen with my replacement phone. I've only had my phone for exactly two months. Update: Version informed me that an app actually caused this to happen and got it to reset. Apparently i was pushing the up volume button instead of down.
When ever I try to play a video on a site called worlstarhiphop my RAZR maxx does not play the video. A friend of mine owns a tablet and his tablet plays the videos on that site his tablet opens the video player to play the video but my DROID RAZR maxx doesnt do anything do I need flash player to play the videos or my phone just can't play the videos on that site.
I went to a seminar yesterday and turned the sound off on the phone using the volume keys. The icon showed the speaker with the slash over it. But then I accidentally hit the voice commands button and the phone started talking. Is there any way to make the phone be totally silent-so that if I went to a web page or hit the voice commands or anything else that makes noise it would still not make any sound?
How can i uninstall adobe flash from my razr maxx? I don't want it be because it eats up memory, increases data usage, slows down web pages, has security holes. Many web sites work better without flash.
Okay, let me start by saying that I truely love this phone, except for one thing. My phone will consistently overheat to 100+ degrees. Also, along with this, about every 24 hours or so I will have to turn my phone off and on again because it becomes extremely laggy. I have never had to do this with any other smartphone that I have had.
Also, I did do the "cache clearing" that wasn't incorporated into the ICS update. Also, I have my phone limited to 4 background processes and I have the "don't keep activites" box checked under developer options.
I have the razr maxx and when I have my phone on speaker phone and it go to sleep there is no way to wake it up except pushing the power button. But if I have push the power button to end call turned on it hang up on my call. i think it a bug with ics.
I called my bother and see if his does it to and it does.
I hooked up my razr maxx to my tv via HDMI (which worked) but my screen size was a little off. Well, instead of adjusting the overlay slider, i changed the resolution of the HDMI going out of my phone to 1920 x 1080.... Well my TV does not support that resolution. Now when I connect it to the television via HDMI cable, TV says no input, droid switches to a mode that turns the screen black and creates an image on screen that looks like the mouse and two buttons on a laptop. The phone assumes that the image is being displayed via HDMI so it does not show it on the screen. The problem is i changed my outgoing video resolution to some wrong setting. The option to change this is only available when your phone is connected to another vidoe source and you can see it on the display of that other device. how i can adjust it?
I did the system update on my Razr Maxx today & when it restarted, it said that my SIM card was recently removed & that I needed to verify my Motoblur password. Well, I didn't know what that was so my phone was totally locked. I got home & looked it up & it wanted me to put in my Motocast password. I did that & then it told me that it looked like my carrier was Verizon & that it did not support Motoblur. What the heck. So I had to do a full system reset.
Got a Razr Maxx a few months ago and had issues getting any data services when connected to "some" wifi networks. With my previous phone, the HTC Incredible, I connected flawlessly to all of them. Verizon support thought it was hardware related with wifi receiver so exchanged phone... Been doing some digging and searching and also several hours on phone with Verizon and Motorola Support. What it appears to be is that something in the phone is assigned a static IP address of 192.168.20.1, unfortunately this is the default factory set wifi router gateway address on many wifi routers so it connects to the wifi network BUT cannot receive any data because of the IP conflict. I ran the app PING & DNS and tested this with 4G and with the two wifi networks at my work which showed what I was seeing, connection but no data service. When connected to 4G this is what I saw :
--- Apr 23, 2012 2:08:17 PM --- IP (rmnet1) 10.191.226.53 --- IP (usb1) 192.168.20.1
[code]....
You can see that the IP address 192.168.20.1 is static in all tests. Read on the web many other people having this issue and how they fixed it was to change the default gateway IP address in their wifi router. Can't exactly walk into McDonalds, or Starbucks, or my work for that matter and ask them to change the default gateway on their wifi router because my Motorola phone has an IP conflict and can't be changed. The last Motorola support tech I spoke with was escalating the case but I haven't heard back yet. One thing he suggested it might be is that the Razr Maxx can be a mobile hotspot so it acts like a wifi router. And this may be the default wifi gateway for the phone when IT is a wifi router. But can't seem to find a way to change this and not subscribed to Mobile Hotspot so can't get in there to see what settings there are.I have two other coworkers who have the Razr Maxx and have the exact same issues. And with our older phones we connected and worked wifi here flawlessly. Being in a big steel building we have a hard time getting 4G service and even when we do, we're now tapping into our data subscription rather than free wifi.
So sitting in my house I have to do the "Stand on one foot with a finger on my nose" routine to get any sort of data signal. Just trying to find a way to send/receive pictures over my WiFi if at all possible.
A software update for the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR Maxx on Verizon is now rolling out in phases to all owners. You can also pull the update by going to Menu > Settings > About phone > System updates.
I get options like vibrate always which is regardless of having the volume up or having silent mode on. If i activate silent mode i want it to be silent completely. This option defeats the whole purpose or meaning of silent mode, it's a no go. The other option is vibrate only on silent mode, again not very well thought of Motorola. So i want no ringer, vibrate only without compromising my silent mode because when i want complete silence the vibrator has to go as well.
I plugged it in to the computer tonight to see what exactly was in the double folders that I can see in the gallery. My computer can't even find the device. Went to Moto's site and downloaded drivers and installed them. Nope. Cannot find device. Ok. Son plugged his phone in - nope no device found. My computer runs XP. His computer runs Win 7 and he also has a Maxx with JB update on it that he got the same time I did. His opens Motocast and that is it. No drive letters. So on a whim, we took both phones to my granddaughter's computer running XP also and hers found all the drives on both phones. Is there a setting I am missing? We didn't change anything when we went to her computer..just plugged it is and it found the device and opened all the drives.
