I can type an entire message and it will take sometimes a few minutes for the phone to "catch up" and fill out all the words I entered.
Reminds me of really old computers - where you can type and the cursor is way behind..
Droid2 2.2.3 just started a new (2 me) issue. I start typing a new text msg and it hangs after 4-9 characters, then exits, dumping the new msg.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnything to do with dialing, I'll touch the contact I want to dial and it will take up to 20 seconds for the phone to resond. Other times, I'll end up touching the contact twice and by the time it connects, the phone is asking me to merge calls..I'm running 2.2.1 OTA, I'm rooted, but have not made any changes, no ROM's, pretty straight forward. I just took the phone in to a VZW store a few weeks back and they did a full reset on it. Can the dialer cache get full?

It keeps giving me the message "Your entry is invalid, please try again."I keep trying it everyday but no use. It also disappeared from the status bar (where i post my happening status to social networks). Why can't I re-add my myspace account? it worked before resetting the phone. everything works fine and all other social networks like twitter, orkut and facebook work fine ,but not mypace. I tried logging in to myspace from a PC and my login worked fine. I even created a new motoblur account but no use.

It was purchased SIM-free in June 2011 and has been running with an Orange UK SIM until 2 days ago when I switched it over to GiffGaff.
I wanted to try to preserve some text messages, but not sure if they are on the old SIM or in phone/SD memory.
I did have to perform a reset on swapping the SIM in order to re-authenticate the Motoblur account. If the messages are in the phone memory, will the reset actually over-write, or can they be retrieved with forensic software (I'm basically competent in use of forensic software).
I realise this is an old thread however, I have just got a Motorola Defy and have found this ability seems to be missing as well.I've never had a phone where you can't insert a CR & use it a reasonable amount.Is there any chance this feature can be added?

This goes away when I turn off the phone and turn it back on, but I'm lazy and don't want to reboot every day. (I normally reboot every 3-5 days)

But now also problem remains it hangs some time, the new upgrade has Task Manager, but it keeps showing CPU: 100% alert. I wonder if only my maps and browser is open, why does it show the sign? Now also while I am typing this from mobile, it is giving same alert with only browser running. Isn't it made for multi-tasking? And also (problem not of topic) my market's page doesn't upgrade itself. It keeps running on old format.

However, there is a strange little bug in it: Every time I type ":-)" in a text message, it will be replaced with a "sad face" icon (). View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen you type a text message, the keyboard slides up and the message box slides up above it so you can see what you're typing. That's the way its supposed to work. I just started seeing this today.
Now, my keyboard is covering the text message box so I can't see what I'm typing. I have to hit the back arrow to make the keyboard go away so I can see what I wrote before sending it. But not just text messages, seems like the keyboard is covering up ALL text boxes in everything making this phone pretty useless.

This doesn't happen every time, it happens every day, and multiple times, however. Usually, when I reboot the phone, the problem is gone...momentarily.
It seems to happen with random messages. I use Universal Inbox and currently see message from text, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and my AT&T mail.
If I use the stock Text Messaging app, I can open the list of messages and see whatever I can from the preview there, but when I click to open the thread, it will open a totally random message thread. Weird. I'm not that into text messaging, but it does annoy me when I need to use it and I can't open individual messages because the wrong ones are appearing.
I don't know if this is a device problem, a software/app problem, an AT&T messaging problem or what. I'm somewhat ignorant about smartphones and have only had this Atrix 2 for about three months.
Is there a way to turn the text-to-speech options on only for caller ID and text messaging? I don't want the phone to tell me every button I push or screen menu that I'm on. I want it only to read me texts and say who the call is from before ringing.

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know this thread is a year old, but I have to drag it up again as it seems Motorola haven't dealt with this problem yet. I have owned a Defy since a few weeks. I have a German vodafone contract which gives me a data roaming flatrate for several countries including Italy, where I am a lot of the time. And this roaming warning is driving me insane!! It pops up about 50 times a day (I live in an area with weak connection, so my phone loses the network sometimes, but finds it again after a few seconds, and up pops this warning), turns the screen on, drains the battery. It also pops up continually while I am driving and using the phone as a navigator, so I have to continually check "yes" so I can see the screen again, which can be pretty dangerous if you are driving on winding mountain roads...

Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.
