Any idea how I can view a picture someone has sent me via mms? does anyone know if they're saved anywhere on the phone?All I seem to have is download and reject. I press download and it appears to download, but then just goes back to download and reject again!
View 1 RepliesI can not view some of my (previously viewable) pictures in the Gallery on my Defy +. Only a default icon is shown. Other pics are still fine. Also not veiwable via Files App. However, uploaded to my PC, the pics are fine.

It was purchased SIM-free in June 2011 and has been running with an Orange UK SIM until 2 days ago when I switched it over to GiffGaff.
I wanted to try to preserve some text messages, but not sure if they are on the old SIM or in phone/SD memory.
I did have to perform a reset on swapping the SIM in order to re-authenticate the Motoblur account. If the messages are in the phone memory, will the reset actually over-write, or can they be retrieved with forensic software (I'm basically competent in use of forensic software).
I'm trying to set up my Defy so that only text massaging gives an audible notification.
Email, and Social messaging are set to a 'silent' ringtone whilst Text messaging has a ringtone assigned to it. But I still get the standard ringtone notification for Email & Social messaging.
I realise this is an old thread however, I have just got a Motorola Defy and have found this ability seems to be missing as well.I've never had a phone where you can't insert a CR & use it a reasonable amount.Is there any chance this feature can be added?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do you resend them? Sometimes in conversations, a message shows a red "X" which I assume indicates it wasn't sent - I can't figure out how to resend the same message again, or check the status why it didn't send.

Reminds me of really old computers - where you can type and the cursor is way behind..

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know this thread is a year old, but I have to drag it up again as it seems Motorola haven't dealt with this problem yet. I have owned a Defy since a few weeks. I have a German vodafone contract which gives me a data roaming flatrate for several countries including Italy, where I am a lot of the time. And this roaming warning is driving me insane!! It pops up about 50 times a day (I live in an area with weak connection, so my phone loses the network sometimes, but finds it again after a few seconds, and up pops this warning), turns the screen on, drains the battery. It also pops up continually while I am driving and using the phone as a navigator, so I have to continually check "yes" so I can see the screen again, which can be pretty dangerous if you are driving on winding mountain roads...

Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBoth my wife and I have Defy's owned for 4 months and upgraded to Froyo 2.2 some weeks ago.both working normally.Then yesterday my phone, for no obvious reason, came up with the message "Invalid Battery.Your device battery is invalid and cannot be charged. Replace the battery with an origional motorola battery." Also the battery symbol at top right of display is black, not green, and has a? mark in it. I have checked my battery, which came with the phone, and it is official Motorola with hologram. So is my wifes.I tried swapping the batteries and while my battery works perfectly in her phone, her battery in my phone gives the same errors.I then tried a master reset....Twice! Both successful, wiping all my data, and requiring me to set up the phone again, but problem still remains.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my old phone the notification alram would repeat after 15 minutes of so until I had read my unread messages and ackowledged my notifications. This was really useful as I work in a noisy envirmonment. Can you do this on the Mini or do you have to keep looking at the phone to see if you have anything new - very sad. Also can you get a view only of new messages as currently I can see all including drafts so its tricky to know whats actually new incoming.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the Curve 8530 on Verizon... I receive a text message from a person, go to the sms icon on my home screen and click on it. My bb shows the new message with the persons's name and a preview of the text. I click on it to view it but it doesnt open the conversation. Then I'll try an older conversation and it works fine. But what is strange is that it will only continue to happen to that one contact. So ill receive a new text from someone else and i can read it with no problems.

Everything is great - phone feels much faster, menus are speedier, looks are stunning, no hitches or data loss during upgrade (except for few applications like Fring which disappeared). So congratulations on your fabulous work on the Belle firmware!A big grouse however is the redesign of the Messaging application. I am used to seeing the good old folder-based view of Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Sent, etc. as soon as I open the Messaging app (I'm sure that's the case with most people).However, in Belle, when I open Messaging, I see all my messages from all folders in one place (arranged by date & time). This is very, very confusing and not pleasant at all, since messaging is one of the most important things done on a phone, even today.I know I can still see the folder-based view by clicking on the rightmost option in taskbar and selecting "View folders". But I don't want to be doing that everytime.
