Motorola :: Data Speed Test On V3M
Jul 9, 2010I'm trying to test on the data speeds of a REV 0 device on Sprint using an older Motorola V3m. And for the life of me i cant get any normal speedtesting sites to work that measure how fast my data is.First I tried using the built in browser(Obigo Browser Q04C1-1.17) with http://mobilespeedtest.com and when running the test it gets stuck at the test running page and never redirects to my results. The second site I tried with the browser is http://text.broadbandreports.com/mspeed in which if I try to run a 1M test I get the message that the maximum download size has been exceeded. None of the smaller test sizes are large enough to produce results.
Is there some kind of a download size limit in this phone? maybe a changeable setting?The last thing I have tried is a J2me based bandwith testing app however that app would give me an error about not being able to download the test file.Does anyone have any ideas on what might work to test my data speeds on a Sprint Motorola Razr v3m? any good java apps i could load onto the phone out there that might work? also pardon my noobishness when it comes to cdma motos.

Aug 3, 2010Running the speed test app side-by-side with my wife's iPhone 4 and she's getting an avg of 1.5Mbps and my iPhone 4 is getting 700k.
I've run this 4 times now with the same results each time.
She's got an Apple bumper, I've got an iFrogz case.
She's got 4 bars.
I've got 2 bars.
They're literally sitting next to each other on a table.
I took my case off, no change.
Hers is also one minute faster than mine (both clocks set to auto)

Sep 12, 2011We've had nothing but problems, and Verizon nor Moto through any sort of advertising weight behind these phones.What's more, you can't really even buy one right now, because everyone is "sold out."Pft.More like, they aren't selling anymore because we were the soak test guinea pigs for the Bionic, and they know that the D3 is a buggy mess and people are returning them in hordes for replacements.We have the same exact everything, except less RAM, and adding LTE.So in other words they worked out the software (and probably hardware as well) kinks on us with less RAM so that coding for something with more RAM would be easy. So the plot is, quietly release a phone so that only people who read tech blogs would know about it (aka, low sales) and then wait to see what issues arise from this extended real world soak test so they will have some additional last minute data for the Bionic.

Apr 21, 2012My droid X is still in version 4.5.605.MB810. When I try to do much of anything with the phone, the notification bar will disappear and the green light at the top starts blinking. After this happens, I cannot receive any test messages or phone calls. the only way that I can get the phone to work correctly again is to cut it off and reboot it. Yesterday it showed the update for the new software but wouldn't download it.

I am not to concerned about having 4g at this time, my primary use of my current Droid (D1) is so I can have my photo albums with me and organized the way i need them to be (that's why I will not get an Iphone) when I go to conventions as I need to be able to go through them with vendors. My current issue with the D1 is its slow response time when going through the albums and apps, how do you think the Razr is going to perform when dealing with photo albums and opening and closing pictures in a quick manor. The lagging is irritating when most of the vendors I deal with have Iphones and can go through the pictures a lot quicker then I can.

Nov 23, 2012Suddenly I can't take a screenshot. I hold Power and press Volume Down and the volume goes down. I keep trying and it goes mute. Nothing I do fixes this. Isn't there some kind of cache I can clear, like Dalvik cache?
I've had volume problems on this phone since I got it, usually just the volume going completely silent even if it shows halfway on media or phone, no matter which output (earpiece, speaker, headphones, bluetooth), and the only fix was to stop all media, go to the homescreen, turn the phone volume down until it mutes, then turn it back up and resume the media.
However, a few days ago when this problem happened again, I couldn't get the volume out of media mode even after stopping the media and going to the homescreen. I couldn't get it to mute or go to vibrate using the volume buttons. I had to Menu > System Settings > Sound > Volumes and manually set phone to mute then turn it back up. Now I can't take a screenshot.
Something is screwed up in the software, either corrupted in the system software or screwed up in the cache; I can't figure it out, but I blame Motorola for poor programming, considering I haven't run into any of these problems on the Galaxy Nexus, as well as the other volume problems I've had on this phone (Bluetooth and headset too loud at the lowest volume, earpiece too quiet at the highest... why can't Motorola have the same volumes across outputs?!).
Motorola Droid 2 :: Doesn't Register On PC Anymore
Jul 26, 2012Ok so when I plug my Droid 2 R2D2 edition into my laptop, nothing hppens. It used to work fine, but now when I try absolutely nothing happens. It doesn't make the noise indicating I've just plugged soemthing into the USB drive, I've tried both USB drives, it works with my PC so I know it's not the cord, plus I use the same cord connected to an outlet adapter to charge it and it works fine but all of the sudden when I plug it into my laptop I get nothing. It doesn't charge, I go to my computer it doesn't show up, I scan for devices I get nothing, I've tried updating motocast and motohelper, and it still doesn't work but like i said it used to work fine, plus this is a brand new phone i recently got a replacment and even after i got the replacment phone it worked fine the first like 20 times I connected it to my laptop, nothings changed. I've got a Dell Inspirion running Windows 7 if that makes a difference but as I've stated nothings changed since the last few times it worked successfully.

May 16, 2011My GPS worked splendidly for about a year with the Droid X. Now it really doesn't work at all. On Google Maps the circle never goes below a kilometer, and even with that it is usually wrong. When I try and use it to Navigate, it never tells me where to turn and I get lost because it isn't getting a signal.
I checked, and all settings were on for GPS. I restarted the phone and pulled the battery. I installed GPS Status and tried to Manage A-GPS state. First I reset, and that didn't work. Then I Downloaded and that didn't work either. The app thinks it is doing something but no satellites show up and the radar even outdoors and even not moving.

It used to have a lock screen when I first got it but now all it does is sometimes shows me blips of the lock screen and then goes to whatever I had open last. I've tried putting a password on thinking that would fix it - but it didn't. So what do you think is wrong with my phone?
