View 2 RepliesWe've had nothing but problems, and Verizon nor Moto through any sort of advertising weight behind these phones. What's more, you can't really even buy one right now, because everyone is "sold out."Pft.More like, they aren't selling anymore because we were the soak test guinea pigs for the Bionic, and they know that the D3 is a buggy mess and people are returning them in hordes for replacements. We have the same exact everything, except less RAM, and adding LTE.So in other words they worked out the software (and probably hardware as well) kinks on us with less RAM so that coding for something with more RAM would be easy. So the plot is, quietly release a phone so that only people who read tech blogs would know about it (aka, low sales) and then wait to see what issues arise from this extended real world soak test so they will have some additional last minute data for the Bionic.

I like the phone alot, and now, its become completely useless
How does someone sign up for a future Soak Test? I know its probably a definately NO to signing up for the ICS 4.x soak test on Droid RAZR on Verizon since RAZR/RAZR Maxx users are already getting emails. Im not worried about that. But, in the future, i would like to be part of a grand list of possible random number of select people to be part of a soak test for 4.1.x or 4.2.x or 5.0 Jellybean or whatever.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

View 14 Replies View RelatedThere seems to be an inconsistency in safe mode working on the Droid Bionic using the technique as described by Verizon. If any of you have the opportunity to test the safe mode procedure, please go here and report back as to whether safe mode works on your phone.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm working with an XP machine and am always getting an immediate "failed" download when trying to get .asf files from my machine. I'd hate to have to convert all of these files. They do show up on the Bionic's option for stream or download and to begin transfer but just fail. Is there a way to get this to work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI keep getting the OTA update on my Droid 4 and I let it download and then say install. It goes through the motions like it's installing but then GB loads back up and I see an error prompt that says the update failed. I am not rooted and I'm running an unmodified 2.3.6 GB that the Motorola Droid 4 comes with. Any ideas why it's failing? Also, after I get the fail prompt if I want to try it again I have to download the update file all over again which takes a long time even over my wifi internet connection, is there a way to store a copy of the update file on my sdcard so I don't have to keep downloading it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis morning I was prompted to download & install the new update OTA. I have attempted to do so 4-5 times now. Each time, it completes the download, reboots the phone to start the update, then when the update progress bar is about 1/2 of the way through, an icon with an exclamation point appears & then the update stops. The phone proceeds to boot up like normal. After it finishes booting up it displays a message stating that the update failed.I really would like to NOT have to do a factory reset to my phone just to get the update to install

View 3 Replies View RelatedI know the update is supposed to be rolling out today, and according to vzw you're supposed to be able to do a manual update but every time i check it says i'm up to date and no update is available. so what is the official status is it live or not? or are you only able to do manual if you have an unlocked phone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFor a few weeks I've been checking for the update and it's STILL saying "check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." Anyone know if a factory data will fix thus and let me pull the update? Im getting fast fed up with this. Ihad all the faith in the world that this update would redeem the bionic of it's failings but IT CAN'T EVEN GET THE UPDAT
View 10 Replies View RelatedI had 9 apps opened on the phone with firefox running three windows and a video playing before i finally got the low memory warning.. that's a definite improvemnt.. anyone else have any reports on the lapdock after the update.. I ran out of battery on the LD before I had a chance to see if it would freeze the phone up..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a perfectly functioning Bionic camera before ICS.During the ICS update (which was supposed to take 10 minutes!) the phone showed updating media database for over an hour and I did a battery pull to restart the phone since I needed it later that night. After a few reboots I could play music and see my camera gallery.Since ICS the camera app will stop working -- the screen goes dark but the camera won't load. It happens to FXCamera app and it happens if I call the camera via online banking to take a picture of a check. I can always access the gallery of pictures. If I clear the 8KB of data and the cache in the camera app and reboot I can then use the camera again. If I do a "fast reboot" or just clear data is still won't open. Only if data and cache are cleared then phone is rebooted. The camera will work fine, but hours or days later it will fail to open.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSomeone told me I could remove (rename) the downloaded update file, but I can't find anything that looks like it might be it. I'm using windows Explorer to view files on my int memory. Yesterday, my phone issued an alert that it had already downloaded the file, and now it wants me to install it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn other words, will it be up to the "distributor," of sorts, to update the Bionics prior to passing them on to the customer? This of course pertains to the Bionics "on the shelves," as I would think any Bionics shipped from Moto would be updated prior to shipment.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi noticed that occasionaly if i was looking at a Internet video or playing some other sound using native apps for playback, or playing a clip from a webpage on the native browser, there would be no sound. if i exit the playback and tap the volume on the ringer until i hear the up volume beep, and then go back to the source that was giving be a problem, it worked ok.
did not see this till the ics upgrade. my phone is stock and never rooted.
at first i thought it was just my phone, but see the discussion below, looks like others are having issues. [url]
The ICS update file was downloaded to my wifes' Bionic and we do not plan to perform the installation. How can I delete the file and stop the 'do you wish to do the install?' prompts? The phone is NOT rooted and we do not wish to do so.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have found the app update notification on my phone twice in the last two days. On both occasions, when I go to the market and look for the updates, no updates are to be found. The notification clearly says updates are available not that updates have been installed.
View 5 Replies View Relatedafter the ics update my screen suffers from a flicker. trying to pin down the cause, i have noticed it is fine after i reboot my phone. but, once i go into my flipboard app, taptu app, or watch a video on Internet is when it starts acting up. i can play games just fine. i can view most webpages just fine. i can use all my other apps just fine. i've uninstalled, reinstalled these apps, i've pulled the battery, i've changed settings, i've cleared cache. i just can't figure it out. the phone ran just fine before the update. now, after the update is when i have problems. i ran into another person online that has the same issue so i know there is at least one other person in the world having simular issues. this forum is my last resort before calling verizon support and either getting a replacement or upgrading to a different phone.
