The ICS update file was downloaded to my wifes' Bionic and we do not plan to perform the installation.How can I delete the file and stop the 'do you wish to do the install?' prompts? The phone is NOT rooted and we do not wish to do so.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAlthough my WMV formatted Videos play fine on my home computer, I had no problem transferring them to my Bionic SD Card. Rather than playing, a small blue box opens at the bottom, which says "unable to open this type of file". Confirmed that the pre-installed Player should play MP4 and WMV. I tell them about my error message, and they recommend downloading the VLC Media Player (which works great on all files on my home computer, even on AVI and FLV files). Still won't play, so they refer me to Motorola, but before I call them, I also download, the seemingly popular MoboPlayer and MX Video Player.
The Motorola second level of support tells me to convert them from WMV to WMV, although my experience with Motorola's Tech support is that I sense that due to our mother tongues, it might be my fault for not parsing my words carefully enough. Feel free to contribute your WMV (or MP4 experience) to this thread, as the last advice that the Motorola Level 2 Tech Support gave me was to go to "setting", then "privacy" and then "restore data reset".
When I set up facebook on my phone, some how all my facebook friends were added as contacts on my phone. Is there an easy way to delete them all and start over?

I had this on there before the Factory Reset and it didn't delete then either. When I click on it it says "the file does not exist".

I ran out of battery on the LD before I had a chance to see if it would freeze the phone up..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a perfectly functioning Bionic camera before ICS.During the ICS update (which was supposed to take 10 minutes!) the phone showed updating media database for over an hour and I did a battery pull to restart the phone since I needed it later that night. After a few reboots I could play music and see my camera gallery.Since ICS the camera app will stop working -- the screen goes dark but the camera won't load. It happens to FXCamera app and it happens if I call the camera via online banking to take a picture of a check. I can always access the gallery of pictures. If I clear the 8KB of data and the cache in the camera app and reboot I can then use the camera again. If I do a "fast reboot" or just clear data is still won't open. Only if data and cache are cleared then phone is rebooted. The camera will work fine, but hours or days later it will fail to open.

View 7 Replies View Relatedi noticed that occasionaly if i was looking at a Internet video or playing some other sound using native apps for playback, or playing a clip from a webpage on the native browser, there would be no sound. if i exit the playback and tap the volume on the ringer until i hear the up volume beep, and then go back to the source that was giving be a problem, it worked ok.
did not see this till the ics upgrade. my phone is stock and never rooted.

I have found the app update notification on my phone twice in the last two days. On both occasions, when I go to the market and look for the updates, no updates are to be found. The notification clearly says updates are available not that updates have been installed.
View 5 Replies View Relatedafter the ics update my screen suffers from a flicker. trying to pin down the cause, i have noticed it is fine after i reboot my phone. but, once i go into my flipboard app, taptu app, or watch a video on Internet is when it starts acting up. i can play games just fine. i can view most webpages just fine. i can use all my other apps just fine. i've uninstalled, reinstalled these apps, i've pulled the battery, i've changed settings, i've cleared cache. i just can't figure it out. the phone ran just fine before the update. now, after the update is when i have problems. i ran into another person online that has the same issue so i know there is at least one other person in the world having simular issues. this forum is my last resort before calling verizon support and either getting a replacement or upgrading to a different phone.

View 15 Replies View RelatedHas anyone experienced this problem? I have five email accounts on my phone, four regular and one corporate. I have them all setup to check for mail every hour. Before the ICS update, they all worked fine on that schedule. After the ICS update, the corporate account still updates fine, but the other four do not. I changed them to update every half hour, but no change. They still do not update. If I go to the account and manually refresh it, it will download my emails.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my first Bionic, on Oct28th, had the data issues from day one. Finally after a month and several hours of phone calls to Verizon and Motorola, replaced handset. New handset, new SIM, still same issues. Loosing data, loosing connectivity,etc. I have always used Motorola from the Startac, Droid X, Droid X2,etc. Really disappointed with Verizon. I am very data dependant with my job.

I updated the OTA update early today and since then the battery level has been going down at almost 10% every 30 - 40 mins. Following is the list in my battery usage queue. This is after I did a system reset and left my phone without any new apps (except for facebook).

Android System 17%
com.motorola.contacts 12%
Android OS 9%
com.motorola.home 8% ....
I am planning to charge it to 100% and then see how it behaves. Will keep this thread posted with stats from my phone.
