Motorola Droid X :: Cannot Receive Any Test Messages Or Calls
Apr 21, 2012
My droid X is still in version 4.5.605.MB810. When I try to do much of anything with the phone, the notification bar will disappear and the green light at the top starts blinking. After this happens, I cannot receive any test messages or phone calls. the only way that I can get the phone to work correctly again is to cut it off and reboot it. Yesterday it showed the update for the new software but wouldn't download it.
I've been using the phone for about two weeks now. In this time I've gotten a few text messages to the affect of, "I just called, why didn't you answer?" or when I call someone, they comment on how long it took for me to return their call. Piecing the feedback together, it seems that the phone doesn't always receive the call and ring. The person who is placing the call hears a dial tone, etc... and has no indication the call isn't ringing on my end. One time this occured, a voice mail was left and I received the voice mail right away. However, if no voicemail is left, I get no indication a call should have been received (no missed calls). The frequency of occurance is fairly hit and miss, besides, you can't prove someone didn't just call you .
I've experienced this on some other verizon phones of multiple brands (before smart phone times), and tend to think it has something to do with the software interactions between the carrier and platform, or perhaps the quality of antenna and how the software handles marginal signal. In the past, the only remedy I found was to change phones, but software pushes weren't as prevalent in those times.... Note, I've been a verizon customer since the dawn of time, so the carrier is a constant variable here. This phone was an upgrade from the Motorola Droid 1, and I didn't experience this problem (in the same locations) with this phone. For what it's worth, around town and at home I have a full 5 bars of signal strength, though I understand the bars are just a function of software.
I have also experienced some data drop out issues on 3G (patiently waiting for verizon to flip the LTE switch on) when heavily managing the wi-fi radio via the smart actions. There seem to be a few other complaints on the forums of similiar behavior. Changing the smart actions to have the wifi radio enabled most of the time seems to have helped with this issue, so I don't beleive it is related, but you never know..
My phone dosent recieve texts messages but will recieve calls. A messages comes up everytime i try to go into my messages saying "the aplication messaging has stoppped unepectedly.
I just purchased a Droid Razr M and can not find out how to set the notification alert for messages and missed calls. I want to set the alert and have it remind me every two minutes of so that I have new messages and or missed calls. This is how my old phones used to work... I would get an audible alert every 2 minutes until I viewed the messge, etc.
I had a RAZR that failed and I replaced it with something else. (don't ask) Now I want to consider a Droid 4, but I can't remember if the RAZR had a notification LED for missed calls & messages but the real question is does the Droid 4 have a notification LED? This is important to me, as I need to keep my phone on silent a lot of the time, and the flashing LED is about the only way I know if I've missed a call (without waking the screen.)
We've had nothing but problems, and Verizon nor Moto through any sort of advertising weight behind these phones. What's more, you can't really even buy one right now, because everyone is "sold out."Pft.More like, they aren't selling anymore because we were the soak test guinea pigs for the Bionic, and they know that the D3 is a buggy mess and people are returning them in hordes for replacements. We have the same exact everything, except less RAM, and adding LTE.So in other words they worked out the software (and probably hardware as well) kinks on us with less RAM so that coding for something with more RAM would be easy. So the plot is, quietly release a phone so that only people who read tech blogs would know about it (aka, low sales) and then wait to see what issues arise from this extended real world soak test so they will have some additional last minute data for the Bionic.
I had problems with my bionic getting back on the network after losing 4G coverage. Switched to Razr and it has been much better. Does anyone know how ICS will handle this issue? How do you get on the list to test ICS on your Razr?
How does someone sign up for a future Soak Test? I know its probably a definately NO to signing up for the ICS 4.x soak test on Droid RAZR on Verizon since RAZR/RAZR Maxx users are already getting emails. Im not worried about that. But, in the future, i would like to be part of a grand list of possible random number of select people to be part of a soak test for 4.1.x or 4.2.x or 5.0 Jellybean or whatever.
Are we getting it tomorrow in two days, in a week? I would assume that we would get ICS before April 4th, and but you never know. Does anybody know when the soak test starts?
There seems to be an inconsistency in safe mode working on the Droid Bionic using the technique as described by Verizon. If any of you have the opportunity to test the safe mode procedure, please go here and report back as to whether safe mode works on your phone.
Got the new build for the soak test on tuesday, now my extended battery won't stay alive more than 1 hour. It also seems to never really charge anymore. I've tried everything.
I like the phone alot, and now, its become completely useless
I can not receive calls or messages on my 6800.I have pageplus service.I can place calls and when I place them, I can then receive text messages.Should the phone always say ev on there or should it be 1x? Not sure what to do or where to place this.
My ipone does not receive messages(sms) or calls. I don't get any messages when someone tryes to call or message me and the signals from my operator are perfectly good. The ones who are trying to call me doesn't get any message saying my phone is off or disconnected. For them it seems as if I don't bother to pick up the phone.
I got a Samsung Galaxy S6 and I have to say, it's the worst cellphone I ever owned. I don't care about all the fancy stuff. I need a phone so people can call me and send me text messages. But that simply doesn't work. I never get phone calls nor text messages, when I restart the phone, I got tens of messages telling me about missed phone calls.
Alright so I'm currently having issues with my phone as every time someone tries to call me, or send me a text message it doesn't go through. However, I'm able to call or send texts messages to them just not the other way around. The only temporary solutions that worked for me so far was restarting my phone but a few minutes later I won't be able to receive calls or texts again.
I have just purchased an I phone 4 from tesco and transfered my number from virgin to tesco. I canphone and text people but cannot recieve calls or text messages.

I recently purchased a Blackberry Curve 8300 from my friend the phone is unlocked to any network, in which i have an o2 UK sim inside, it loads up and the o2-UK logo comes up with a full signal GPRS (in capital letters) but i cannot send texts or make calls and i cannot receive them either.I have tried numerous battery pulls and soft soft resets to no avail, i have update to 4.5 software also, i really like the phone and don't want to have to throw it in the bin:I have registered through the Host Routing Table and received the confirmation email.I have the radio on the phone switched on.I can access the internet and receive e-mails.I can access BB Messenger.
I have a problem with an iPhone 4 GSM with iOS 5.1: until last week it perfectly worked and then it started to not have any signal bars and therefore I can't receive and send either calls or texts. Oddly enough though I can still connect to the web. I forgot to mention before that the iphone is factory unlocked.I tried to reset the settings and then to format the device but nothing changed. I also changed sims but again nothing.
My wife and I both have iphones but we are receiving each others messages and sometimes phone calls even though different phones. What is causing this? Both phones registered under the same user. Means she is seeing my texts messages and vice versa.
