Motorola Defy :: Stuck In Reboot Loop?

Jul 27, 2011

Today I noticed my Defy screen was black, and it wasn't responding to power button presses, so I took the battery out and rebooted it. A few hours later it was black screen again, and I tried the same proceedure but watched it. Maybe 10 seconds after it finished booting, it rebooted and then gets stuck in a sequence of showing motorola logo and rebooting over and over. I've tried removing the battery again and it will boot once, then immediately reboot and get stuck in loop again.I have tried the following and the same result every time:boot w/o simboot w/o sdboot w/o sd or simboot with better signalI cannot do factory data reset as I do not have enough time before first reboot to get to it. Attempting to start any app before the first reboot just returns to the menu screen.

I attempted to do 'hard reset' as per these instructions: ttp://www.knowyourcell.com/motorola/motorola-defy/defy-uides/595986/how_to_hard_reset_the_motorola_defy.htmlHowever after motorola screen I get a warning icon with a droid similar to this image but without the menu. Attempting to tap anypart of the screen or press any button did not change this screen:ttp://farm5.static.flickr.com/4132/5194579958_880780d9e4.jpgThe phone has been running mostly okay for the 6 months or so that I have owned it. I say mostly because I upgraded to Froyo 2 months ago, and it was behaving badly (lagging badly) until factory data reset a month ago.

Motorola Atrix 4G :: Stuck In Reboot Loop?

Sep 27, 2011

My phone has been stuck in reboot loop for the last 2 days. I had powered it off on the plane and when i turn on...it keeps rebooting itself after the "Rethink Possible" screen ends. I let the battery drain and still after charging it keeps on rebooting. I am running the phone on "Safe Mode" and only able to run basic Android apps like Gmail, Phone, Gtalk, Camera, etc. All 3rd party apps in Safe mode do not work.

Motorola Photon 4G :: Stuck In Reboot Loop?

Sep 6, 2011

I've had my Photon for two weeks now and love it, but I've noticed it tend to randomly reboot itself after being removed from a car charger. Now the phone boots until it gets into the android operating system, then resets itself. This makes me VERY nervous for two reasons. I don't want to be stuk with a hone that reboots constantly, and more importantly, I sell them and don't want to have to tell everyone I've sold to that I've made a mistake. Is there a fix for this other than a hard reset?

BB Torch :: 9800 Stuck In Reboot Loop

Jan 2, 2012

My BB Torch 9800 is stuck in a reboot loop. I have tried reinstalling the OS using the AppLoader, tried simply hitting "Update" from my Desktop Manager, I have essentially tried everything I have found online about a "nuked or bricked BB". I have been working on this for days. The problem is that, because of the reboot loop, my phone will not stay connected to my computer long enough for anything to actually happen. I get the error message "Unable to maintain JVC connection" or something along the lines of "Your device is not connected, please reconnect, enter your password and continue".I have had this phone for a year and love it. I made an investment in a BB product and I expect it to last more than one year! If I need to take it in for service, so I simply return to the store where it was purchased?

BB Torch :: 9800 Stuck In Never Ending Reboot Loop

Dec 15, 2011

I was doing a regular update of the BB apps yesterday late evening, as per the notifications received by the App World. However, the phone shutdown suddenly, and it tried to reboot. It has since failed to boot up, and keeps on shutting down, while trying to reboot. The progress bar always reaches approx. 95%+, and then it starts again. I have already done Battery pull etc., and connected it with a charger - but so far no luck with it. Connected it to the laptop as well - but it does not recognize it either. I have a backup from a couple of weeks ago, so I am wondering, how I can reset the device and restore to an earlier backup? This is a month old Torch 9800 device.

BB Curve 83xx :: Stuck In The Most Vicious Reboot Loop Cycle

Apr 14, 2010

I am an IT technician, and we use BES at my company. I have been handed a phone by one of my fellow employees exhibiting the dreaded reboot cycle problem. Yes, I know there are lots of other threads on this, but some are dead ends and some just rehash the same old thing. I'm not certain, but I think this may be different and deserve its own thread. I am working with a BlackBerry Curve 8310 stuck in the known reboot loop. Black screen for 5 seconds, white screen with hourglass for 5 seconds, black screen for 5 seconds, rinse/lather/repeat.

I have tried:
01) Using BBSAK to wipe the device (without Desktop Manager open or running).
02) Using JL_Cmder to wipe the device (without Desktop Manager open or running).
03) Installing the BlackBerry Java Developer Kit and running the wipe variable command on JavaLoader.exe (without Desktop Manager open or running).
04) Deleting vendor.xml and running loader.exe with and without the /nojvm variable from /Program Files/Common Files/etc (without Desktop Manager open or running).
05) Using BlackBerry Desktop Manager to load the newest OS (hey, why not).
06) Tried every combination possible of booting the phone without the battery and inserting it at just the right time, over and over and over again, while all of the processes above attempt to run (BBSAK, JL_Cmder, Loader.exe, etc).
07) Doing all of the above on a Windows XP Professional PC instead of my Windows 7 Ultimate x86 PC.
08) Doing all of the above on a different BlackBerry Curve 8310 without a reboot problem (it works every time; wipe the OS, install the newest one, no issues at all, I'm very familiar with the process).
09) Trying all of the above using a completely different battery.
10) Trying all of the above with the SIM card removed (there is no media card, so no issues there).

As far as all of the documented steps to resolve this known issue, I've tried them all in every which way using every combination I could possibly imagine or invent on the fly, and I've made absolutely, positively no progress whatsoever. The BlackBerry Curve 8310 continues its auto-reboot-5-seconds-into-loading process, and it prevents any of the utilities above to communicate with the phone long enough to establish a handshake before it reboots again. It doesn't seem to matter when I insert the battery at all. The farthest I get is using the loader.exe method (step 04 above). Once it gets to the device initialization step, however, and I insert the battery back in, the reboots simply continue. I am at a loss, and I've done everything that I know to do or that I've learned to do via research on multiple messageboards. Aside from sending teh phone out for repair, what steps are there to take that I have not yet taken to fix this myself? Note that there is no report of the phone being dropped, jarred, or physically mishandled in any way. Nonetheless, could it be that this is not software-related, but hardware-related? What am I missing?

My iPhone is stuck in a guess what is just a reboot loop. It gets stuck on the apple logo for maybe 5 minutes then it goes to the spinning wheel for another 5 minutes ( wheel doesn't spin just stuck ) then goes back to the apple logo again. I've tried holding both the home and power button to reset it but all that does it restart the process. I've put in DFU mode to restore but my computer and a friends computer both won't recognize it ( also tried to cables ) so I can't restore it.

Motorola Backflip :: Reboot Loop Discovery?

Feb 4, 2012

I purchased a used Backflip and almost immediately started having the re-boot issue, which I since have learned is very well documented. Next time I'll research the forums b4 buying! My Backflip would spontaneously re-boot and then get caught in a constant cycle by rebooting less than 1 minute after my home screen (finally) appears. It never seemed to be triggered by any specific action, such as pressing the infamous "J" key, or using the camera, as others have stated.Through my research I determined the first thing to do was a reset to factory settings. That took time, but didn't solve anything. Then I went down the loose battery/business card shim route. I have 3 BN80 batteries. None of them solved the problem, nor did any of the various business card shim configurations I tried. All of my BN80 batteries are rated 1380 mAh/5.1 Wh. One poster claims that there are 2 different versions of that battery and the correct one is rated 1320 mAh/4.2 Wh. So I tried my BN70 from my Moto Karma (1140 mAh/4.2 Wh).

I also have 2 SD cards and it re-booted with either of them, and with neither of them.So I mumbled something unrepeatable, and gave-up. :-( I pulled my sim card and stuck it back into my Q1 Karma. Then I thought...could it be? So I re-tried the Backflip and viola! No problems. It's solid as a rock. I can browse the web via wi-fi and use all of the features. I can open it, shut it, use the camera, push any key (hard), including those on the battery side of the keyboard (even with the thinner profile BN70 battery) and I can't get the thing to re-boot! That is until I insert a SIM card. The very same SIM card which works just fine in my other Moto phone.

Motorola Defy :: Shutdown And Won't Reboot Until I Pull Battery

I grabbed my Motorola Defy used about 6 months ago with absolutely nothing wrong with it.I work at a garage, I'm constantly coated in grease.About a month ago the ear speaker stopped working, now calls can only be heard through headphones or speaker phone.

About 2 weeks ago, close to every time I put my Defy in my pocket, it shuts down. Unlock button becomes unresponsive, doesn't power back on until I pull the battery out and put it back in. It seems to do this whenever pressure is applied across the screen while locked.

Google Nexus 5 :: Lollipop Update (OTA) - Got Stuck In Boot Loop And Now Stuck At Hard Reset?

Nov 22, 2014

Like others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:

1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.

It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?

I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.

Please tell my "Life proof" phone isn't dead before my 2 year contract is up!? Motorola Defy :: Stuck With The Motoblur Stuff?

Jan 4, 2012

I've had my Defy for a little more than a year...but I'm "stranger in a strange land" here in the forum, mostly because I'm neither techie nor anything close to a power user. But I do not use any of the Motoblur junk...and don't even want it on the phone. The only time I'm aware of it is when I check the list of running apps and see how many of them are Motoblur related. I'd love to be able to delete them, if only to get rid of the power drain they represent. Yet I suspect that Motorola has them all pretty much "hard wired" into the phone. Or is there some sort of less obvious, less intuitive way to get rid of the Motoblur news, weather and other crap?

Motorola Electrify :: Stuck In 1x After Factory Reboot?

Jul 26, 2012

I recently gave my Electrify to my wife and took the phone to US cellular so they could portal our numbers around. They did a factory reset on my phone but since then her data speed seems to be stuck in 1x. It will switch over to 3g occasionally but only for a minute or 2. I've checked for a system update hoping this would correct the problem and also tried a hard reset, another facory reset, reactivation (*228) and to change network settings under *#*#4636#*#*. As a last resort I had my wife take it back to US cellular but they just lied to her and said that even though it shows 1x it was really working in 3g. Downloaded speed test and it shows a .2 Mbps download speed and even slower upload speed. I was thinking about trying to download the gingerbread file and manually installing it but other than this I'm out of ideas. Does anyone know of any I'm going to try a few more things and if I can't get this corrected I will have to return the phone to US cellular and try to get a replacement. Only reason I haven't already is because I figure fixing the thing myself is the quicker of the 2 options. :-)

Nokia :: N96 - Immediate - Non-responsive - Reboot Loop

Mar 17, 2010

I have a Nokia N96 with the latest version of software (which has been operating ok for now - and I think that the N96 has Symbian OS 2.3 or something?)

I installed a program on my phone and it warned that my memory was low --> "Memory low. Delete or move some data from c: Phone memory" so I uninstalled a 2mb theme.

I then installed a little divx player which I thought wouldn't be much but then I turned off my phone and on (the other program said that I had to reboot my phone) and then my phone would start up and it would start loading up but it would immediately display the "Memory low. Delete or move some data from c: Phone memory" error (while it was trying to autoload everything that autoloads on the phone).

When this error message comes up the only option is "Ok" but the OK button is non-responsive (we all know that these phones take a while to load up) and within a couple seconds (you can't push a button and get a single response out of the phone to even try sort the problem out) the phone switches off and then switches back on with the same error without being able to do anything about it - perpetual loop!

Because it is in this perpetual loop I tried pluggin in my cable to delete data off C: (anything I could possibly get to in time) but it doesn't pick it up in time!

So, I am stuck in this "Low memory loop" without being able to get out of it. I desperately need my phone, I was thinking there would be a soft-on startup (e.g. hold x and y buttons for example and switch on and it doesn't load up some autoload stuff?) but I couldn't find one after *extensive* googling and forum-browsing.

Galaxy S5 :: Phone Reboot Loop

Nov 5, 2015

Connected my S5 to charger and left the room, started hearing the Cricket Wireless theme a few minutes later, then again, then again. That was when I discovered I was caught in a reboot loop.

Phone model - Samsung-SM-G900AZ
Firmware version - G900AZTUU3BOG3
Carrier - Cricket Wireless

I've gone through most of the posts here regarding this and have at this point:
replace battery with spare (no change)
Recovery Mode - clear cache (no change)
Recovery mode - reset to factory, restore from Google backups (no change)
Recovery Mode - reset to factory, setup as new device (no change)
Disable Wifi - (no change)
Odin + reflash (no change)
Disable wifi (no change)
Disable wifi and LTE data - (no change)

I'm not really sure what to do at this point and am starting to wonder if this is a hardware issue, not software. This phone has never been rooted, and in fact is just under a month old (my previous, never had an issue with it S5 died a horrible death at 25mph from the hood of my car) so didn't even have all of the apps I normally use installed.
