Xperia Z2 :: Retrieving Data From Device Stuck In Reboot Loop
Oct 29, 2015I have a Z2 that got stuck in a reboot loop after attempting an update. I'd like to make sure I get a copy of my data before I hand it in to have it fixed.

View 3 RepliesI have got an xperia Z3 device and so far everything has been working fine. Since the latest android update however (lollipop), my phone is constantly rebooting itself, when i want to perform a simple restart. I tried the pcc repair tool twice already. it works, but as soon as i want to restart my device, it gets stuck in a reboot loop.
I also tried removing the sim card. It still gets stuck in a reboot loop.
So earlier I was deleting some lock screen application and my blackberry was rebooting but then it got stuck on the reboot screen. So it reboots fully and then starts again. I've tried to connect it to the desktop manager and that didn't work so I took the battery out and tried the apploader but the app I wanted to delete was already gone but it kept rebooting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded an app last night and as soon as it installed my phone started to reboot.Since then it has just been on a reboot loop. The white line gets nearly to the end then a red light comes on and it starts all over again. I have tried a soft re-start: alt shift del a battery pull (loads of times!) I have tried to log on to blackberry desktop manager and resettle whole phone but it tries to connect to the phone every time! I am stuck at what else to do
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy BB Torch 9800 is stuck in a reboot loop. I have tried reinstalling the OS using the AppLoader, tried simply hitting "Update" from my Desktop Manager, I have essentially tried everything I have found online about a "nuked or bricked BB". I have been working on this for days. The problem is that, because of the reboot loop, my phone will not stay connected to my computer long enough for anything to actually happen. I get the error message "Unable to maintain JVC connection" or something along the lines of "Your device is not connected, please reconnect, enter your password and continue".I have had this phone for a year and love it. I made an investment in a BB product and I expect it to last more than one year! If I need to take it in for service, so I simply return to the store where it was purchased?

Today I noticed my Defy screen was black, and it wasn't responding to power button presses, so I took the battery out and rebooted it. A few hours later it was black screen again, and I tried the same proceedure but watched it. Maybe 10 seconds after it finished booting, it rebooted and then gets stuck in a sequence of showing motorola logo and rebooting over and over. I've tried removing the battery again and it will boot once, then immediately reboot and get stuck in loop again.I have tried the following and the same result every time:boot w/o simboot w/o sdboot w/o sd or simboot with better signalI cannot do factory data reset as I do not have enough time before first reboot to get to it. Attempting to start any app before the first reboot just returns to the menu screen.
I attempted to do 'hard reset' as per these instructions: ttp://www.knowyourcell.com/motorola/motorola-defy/defy-uides/595986/how_to_hard_reset_the_motorola_defy.htmlHowever after motorola screen I get a warning icon with a droid similar to this image but without the menu. Attempting to tap anypart of the screen or press any button did not change this screen:ttp://farm5.static.flickr.com/4132/5194579958_880780d9e4.jpgThe phone has been running mostly okay for the 6 months or so that I have owned it. I say mostly because I upgraded to Froyo 2 months ago, and it was behaving badly (lagging badly) until factory data reset a month ago.
My phone has been stuck in reboot loop for the last 2 days. I had powered it off on the plane and when i turn on...it keeps rebooting itself after the "Rethink Possible" screen ends. I let the battery drain and still after charging it keeps on rebooting. I am running the phone on "Safe Mode" and only able to run basic Android apps like Gmail, Phone, Gtalk, Camera, etc. All 3rd party apps in Safe mode do not work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Photon for two weeks now and love it, but I've noticed it tend to randomly reboot itself after being removed from a car charger. Now the phone boots until it gets into the android operating system, then resets itself. This makes me VERY nervous for two reasons. I don't want to be stuk with a hone that reboots constantly, and more importantly, I sell them and don't want to have to tell everyone I've sold to that I've made a mistake. Is there a fix for this other than a hard reset?

I really don't feel like hassaling with t-mobile if there is another way to fix this!
View 12 Replies View RelatedI was doing a regular update of the BB apps yesterday late evening, as per the notifications received by the App World. However, the phone shutdown suddenly, and it tried to reboot. It has since failed to boot up, and keeps on shutting down, while trying to reboot. The progress bar always reaches approx. 95%+, and then it starts again. I have already done Battery pull etc., and connected it with a charger - but so far no luck with it. Connected it to the laptop as well - but it does not recognize it either. I have a backup from a couple of weeks ago, so I am wondering, how I can reset the device and restore to an earlier backup? This is a month old Torch 9800 device.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am an IT technician, and we use BES at my company. I have been handed a phone by one of my fellow employees exhibiting the dreaded reboot cycle problem. Yes, I know there are lots of other threads on this, but some are dead ends and some just rehash the same old thing. I'm not certain, but I think this may be different and deserve its own thread. I am working with a BlackBerry Curve 8310 stuck in the known reboot loop. Black screen for 5 seconds, white screen with hourglass for 5 seconds, black screen for 5 seconds, rinse/lather/repeat.
I have tried:
01) Using BBSAK to wipe the device (without Desktop Manager open or running).
02) Using JL_Cmder to wipe the device (without Desktop Manager open or running).
03) Installing the BlackBerry Java Developer Kit and running the wipe variable command on JavaLoader.exe (without Desktop Manager open or running).
04) Deleting vendor.xml and running loader.exe with and without the /nojvm variable from /Program Files/Common Files/etc (without Desktop Manager open or running).
05) Using BlackBerry Desktop Manager to load the newest OS (hey, why not).
06) Tried every combination possible of booting the phone without the battery and inserting it at just the right time, over and over and over again, while all of the processes above attempt to run (BBSAK, JL_Cmder, Loader.exe, etc).
07) Doing all of the above on a Windows XP Professional PC instead of my Windows 7 Ultimate x86 PC.
08) Doing all of the above on a different BlackBerry Curve 8310 without a reboot problem (it works every time; wipe the OS, install the newest one, no issues at all, I'm very familiar with the process).
09) Trying all of the above using a completely different battery.
10) Trying all of the above with the SIM card removed (there is no media card, so no issues there).
As far as all of the documented steps to resolve this known issue, I've tried them all in every which way using every combination I could possibly imagine or invent on the fly, and I've made absolutely, positively no progress whatsoever. The BlackBerry Curve 8310 continues its auto-reboot-5-seconds-into-loading process, and it prevents any of the utilities above to communicate with the phone long enough to establish a handshake before it reboots again. It doesn't seem to matter when I insert the battery at all. The farthest I get is using the loader.exe method (step 04 above). Once it gets to the device initialization step, however, and I insert the battery back in, the reboots simply continue. I am at a loss, and I've done everything that I know to do or that I've learned to do via research on multiple messageboards. Aside from sending teh phone out for repair, what steps are there to take that I have not yet taken to fix this myself? Note that there is no report of the phone being dropped, jarred, or physically mishandled in any way. Nonetheless, could it be that this is not software-related, but hardware-related? What am I missing?
My iPhone is stuck in a guess what is just a reboot loop. It gets stuck on the apple logo for maybe 5 minutes then it goes to the spinning wheel for another 5 minutes ( wheel doesn't spin just stuck ) then goes back to the apple logo again. I've tried holding both the home and power button to reset it but all that does it restart the process. I've put in DFU mode to restore but my computer and a friends computer both won't recognize it ( also tried to cables ) so I can't restore it.

I did some cydia updates, against my better judgement, it worked ok for a day or so then choked while txting. Its an unlocked 3g on ios3.0. I think it was mobile substrate, I ssh'd an older version, a deb file but no luck. Is a restore my only option? I have my old 3.0 ipsw.

A little while later, it starts the cycle over again, backlit blank screen, hourglass spins, bb shuts off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSprint uploaded lollipop update, camera stopped working. did a factory default hard reset, now it is stuck in a recovery reboot loop. it starts to S5 screen turns off and restarts over and over for five days now?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried plugging it into a wall charger for a day, i tried leaving it unplugged for a day, i tried leaving it plugged into the wall without the battery in for a day. I do not think it is the battery or charging related. Oh, and i have 2 batteries, neither let it boot.
So, i tried all the suggestions about App loader. The PIN is not recognized UNLESS, i plug it in without a battery (after i see the charging icon with red X on the screen). If i try to continue, nothing happens until i put in the battery, which immediately removes my PIN to PIN Unknown or whatever. So, it will continue and loader will freeze at step 2, device initialization.
Anyone had this exact issue or know how to get passed this point?
For reference, i never dropped it or damaged it. Actually i haven;t been using this phone, i decided to update it, all went well. Took the battery out and left it for a couple weeks. Went back to use it and this is what i got. Oh, and I tried JL_CMNDR and nothing happens.
Like i said, no error screen, i get a red LED, it attempts to boot up, but it barely moves and then I get black screen and red LED again and it just loops this process.
* I do have the extra ATT Insurance. However, I've had it for 1.5 years and it has been externally modded to ****. I could easily change it back to stock parts, but the "sticker" is gone. 1. Would ATT let me exchange it? 2. Does it have all my info on it?
So my phone got stuck in the infamous bootloop. I am getting a new one shipped to me. I just don't know of my old one is backed up. I don't even think my contacts are. It has an SD card, but I don't think I ever set up a back up for it. Is there any way to back it up now? Sadly it won't stay on long enough to get passed the AT&T screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I went to bed last night my Z3 was working fine. When I woke up, any app I opened closed with the "___________ has stopped" message, so I decided to reset my phone. Now it's stuck in a loop where it will turn on until it gets to the loading page with the blue wave background before turning off and starting this again and again until I hit the little reset square by the microsd with a paperclip.
I've tried connecting it to PC companion and the Mac version (I have a mac at home but can access PCs.) Once it gets to the part where I have to hold the power button and down key while plugging it into the computer, it does nothing and I can't move forward.
I can't seem to put it into flash mode, and I tried installing the EMMA flasher program but it wouldn't recognize that my phone was connected. After more googling seems that maybe unfortunately my phone needs to be in flash mode for this to work.
I haven't modded my phone, haven't installed many apps, and I actually know nothing about phone dealing with/ programming/ booting/ computer language words so some things I am reading online definitely go over my head. I am willing to try though!
My phone will still charge though!
My phone automatically stuck into restart loop. I was randomly using my phone. And since then it is not working. It shows "Sony" on main screen and then "xperia" and again then back to sony and so on..My phone has ICS, updated long back when it was made available by Sony. I tried doing things but that did not rectify issues like:
1) Removing battery and restating
2) removing usb and sim
3) removing battery and holding power button for a while and restarting
I sold my z2 to a friend, and when he has tried to insert his new sim has forced the red reset/ off button down too hard, and its stuck. So now when the phone has any charge it is stuck in the cycle of reseting itself, vibrating 3 times and the sony logo comes up, and it just keeps doing this. Are there any tips on unsticking the reset button.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the sony franchise and I'm very impressed with the Z2. The only problem I have is that my wifi keeps dropping on my phone and then it gets stuck at "obtaining ip address". What I've done is: reset my router, "forget" the network on my phone, reconnected the wifi. I've also rebooted my phone, this connected to the wifi successfully, but disconnects after a while again. I disabled stamina mode and all other power saving options, but nothing worked.

It is somehow stuck in a reset loop, it starts in safe mode, is locked and won't allow me to press any buttons at all. Once it is turned on i have to remove the battery to turn it off. My warranty has run out for this phone now but I do like it and don't currently have the money to get a new one really.
View 9 Replies View RelatedLike others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.
Does retrieving music and data from iCloud use up the data plan usage? And is there an adapter that will allow me to charge the iPhone with the standard charging cord for Blackberry and Android?
