I did some cydia updates, against my better judgement, it worked ok for a day or so then choked while txting. Its an unlocked 3g on ios3.0. I think it was mobile substrate, I ssh'd an older version, a deb file but no luck. Is a restore my only option? I have my old 3.0 ipsw.
View 5 RepliesI'm having big issues trying to bring back to life my iphone 4 that i recently bought from a friend.
The iphone seems dead, without connecting to the mac it doesn't respond either by pressing the lock button or the home button. If i connect the iphone to my macbook pro the display turns on with the silver apple logo for 5 second and then it goes black again for 3-4 secs....and then again with the apple logo as an endless loop.
The phone isn't recognized by itunes, only if I put the device in DFU Lock(6secs)->(lock+home 10secs)->(home 5secs) itunes says that i have to restore the iphone in order to use it but when i click restore it give me an error saying that Itunes could not connect to the server of updates and i should try again later (since I don't have Itunes in english i tried to translate the text of the error).
I'm using the 10.6.1 version of Itunes, I think it's the latest.
edit #1: I figured out that Itunes can recognize the device even if I keep pressing the home button for like 10 secs, the display show the USB cable under the Itunes logo, I think its the recovery mode. Itunes give me the same error if I try to restore the iphone even in this mode.

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before but I NEED HELP!! My Iphone was recently not able to sync on Itunes. Everytime I would try and sync my music it would disappear from the itues menu but still say 'syncing'. Then I tried to restore it after this failed (by getting an error message) I tried to re-jailbreak it and now it will not leave the Apple logo. I've tried everything I know, hopefully someone else knows something.I Have an Iphone 3g with 3.1.2 firmware on it I believe.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHopefully someone can provide a step-by-step way to fix my problem without having to restore.I have a 32GB 3GS with firmware 3.1.2 (SHSH backed up on Cydia), jailbroken and unlocked using Blackra1n/Blacksn0w. I bought this phone back in July/2009 so this phone doesn't have the new bootrom.
The phone has been working fine for months. Just today, I was using the Facebook app and it looked like a call came in and was cut off. The call sent me back to the Springboard and I couldn't detect my cell network (Rogers). I brought up SBsettings and restarted the iPhone. When it restarted, it was stuck on the Apple logo. It sometimes take minutes after a crash for the springboard to come up so I waited and waited. After about 10 minutes I sense something is not right. I reset the iphone (power+home) and tried it again. No change. the iPhone is stuck at the Apple logo.
I hooked it up to my computer at work to see if the PC can recognize the phone being hooked up (and maybe I can SSH into it to fix it), but the iPhone doesn't get recognized.
So is there a way I could fix this problem without having to restore (I'm at work, so I can't do a restore until I get home tonight anyway). Also, if I'm forced to do a restore, what happens to my pictures and videos that's on my phone?
Edit: After having the iPhone stuck at the Apple logo and hooked up to the PC for the last 10 or so minutes, I see a wait icon appear frozen just below the Apple logo (they are almost on top of each other). But the wait icon is frozen and not moving. I'm not sure what this means but the iPhone seems to be stuck still.
I'm sure my iPhone 4 is in a reboot cycle. I put it into recovery mode and try to restore but I get the 3194 error. The phone then goes right back to the apple logo, occasionally going back, then reappearing again.Â
My iPhone has no sim card and this arose because I updated my ios to 7.1.1 but couldn't get it past the activation screen (because it has no sim card and for some reason apple won't allow it).
I know this is everywhere, but my case is different. I had problems with my lockscreen which never turned off. I went to another forum and asked for tips, they said to Reset All settings (not erase all content). I did that, and guess what, it is stuck in the apple logo and sometimes with the spinning wheel. Now I CANNOT go into DFU mode because I do not have a backup of anything and if I restore im screwed and all my apps, contact, etc. will go away. I have access to the iPhone system folders (iFunbox, diskaid, etc.)

I tried to restore my 3Gs. It was jailbroken on 3.1.3. The restore failed. I tried using tiny umbrella and RecBoot and it still said i could only restore and upgrade, so i decided after trying that a bunch of times to just do the manual reset from within the settings on the phone. It was on the apple logo with the spinnging thing for like an hour, and now its just stuck on the apple logo. I put it into DFU and tried exiting DFU (like i did earlier) using recboot but now it just wont leave the apple logo.

My photos are my work and they're so important that I cant do a restore because I dont have a backup. I read about Reiboot, Tinyumbrella, Recboot etc. I decided to give Reiboot a try and I plugged my iPhone in, clicked "exit recovery mode" and it told me the exit recovery was successful. But my iPhone just went into an apple logo loop. I tried many things to get it out of the loop but the only thing I could do was put it back in recovery mode. Is there any way I can get to my files?

IPhone 4 has a black screen which will display the apple logo and appears to be at start up but then blacks out for approx 10 seconds and then displays apple logo again. Same action over and over. Today my JB'd 3G on 3.1.2 went into a funky state and I attempted to reboot. Since then I've been stuck on the Apple logo at start up and nothing.
So, i put the phone in DFU mode and Itunes 9 is giving me the option to "Update & Restore", HOWEVER, I dont want to do this because I want to stay on 3.1.2 for obvious reasons. I also have been reading stuff about SHSH but I have no clue what this is so one can assume I never did anything prior regarding SHSH.
When itunes has the pop up on the screen saying "update and restore" can I hold "shift and click "update&restore" to choose a 312 ipsw, or is that option only available if restoring without being in DFU mode.

I have just given my old iPhone 4 to my wife. I reset the phone and did a restore backup from when she last had an iPhone in 2012. She has a valid Apple ID and I can log into the account on a PC. However, when I try and make a purchase, free or paid for, from the App Store, I am asked for the Apple ID password and when entered, it doesnt come back with a 'incorrect password' but simply refuses.Â
So I then went to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID>View Apple ID, I am asked for the password and when entered, it simple asks again and am stuck in this loop.Â
So earlier I was deleting some lock screen application and my blackberry was rebooting but then it got stuck on the reboot screen. So it reboots fully and then starts again. I've tried to connect it to the desktop manager and that didn't work so I took the battery out and tried the apploader but the app I wanted to delete was already gone but it kept rebooting.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iphone 4s i woke up a few weeks ago to the iphone not starting up, it wouldn't go past the apple logo, i was able to put it in recovery mode(connect to itunes), so i put it in recovery mode and did a restore which made me download the new firmware since i was running on the one that came with my 4S,
When it was nearly done i received a error message about iphone pairing record was missing, so i started all over and did the restore again. However now my phone keeps going to apple logo, rebooting, loading bar, apple logo, rebooting, im unable to shut it off therefore im unable to get into the DFU mode.
How can I get out of this loop? the only thing i can get into is the USB recovery mode which i can connect to itunes, otherwise i cannot turn the phone off, or even access the slider bar, or use power buttons to turn it off, it's on and juss loading over and over. doing the restore all from scratch doesn't help.

My BB Torch 9800 is stuck in a reboot loop. I have tried reinstalling the OS using the AppLoader, tried simply hitting "Update" from my Desktop Manager, I have essentially tried everything I have found online about a "nuked or bricked BB". I have been working on this for days.The problem is that, because of the reboot loop, my phone will not stay connected to my computer long enough for anything to actually happen. I get the error message "Unable to maintain JVC connection" or something along the lines of "Your device is not connected, please reconnect, enter your password and continue".I have had this phone for a year and love it. I made an investment in a BB product and I expect it to last more than one year! If I need to take it in for service, so I simply return to the store where it was purchased?

A few hours later it was black screen again, and I tried the same proceedure but watched it. Maybe 10 seconds after it finished booting, it rebooted and then gets stuck in a sequence of showing motorola logo and rebooting over and over. My phone has been stuck in reboot loop for the last 2 days. I had powered it off on the plane and when i turn on...it keeps rebooting itself after the "Rethink Possible" screen ends. I let the battery drain and still after charging it keeps on rebooting. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Photon for two weeks now and love it, but I've noticed it tend to randomly reboot itself after being removed from a car charger. Now the phone boots until it gets into the android operating system, then resets itself. This makes me VERY nervous for two reasons. I don't want to be stuk with a hone that reboots constantly, and more importantly, I sell them and don't want to have to tell everyone I've sold to that I've made a mistake. Is there a fix for this other than a hard reset?

However, the phone shutdown suddenly, and it tried to reboot. It has since failed to boot up, and keeps on shutting down, while trying to reboot. The progress bar always reaches approx. 95%+, and then it starts again. I have already done Battery pull etc., and connected it with a charger - but so far no luck with it. Connected it to the laptop as well - but it does not recognize it either. I have a backup from a couple of weeks ago, so I am wondering, how I can reset the device and restore to an earlier backup? This is a month old Torch 9800 device.
