Today I noticed that if I take photos using the camera shortly after the phone has booted they are not stored on either the internal storage or external SD card even though it looks like the photo was taken.
View 4 RepliesI'm curious where the Apps get stored on this phone. As an example - I downloaded "Droidlight" successfully from the Market, but where on this phone is it stored? I opened "Files" and see the directory structure for the internal phone storage and my external SD card, but I don't see an "Apps" directory. Manage Apps under Settings provides the option to move it to the "Media" area, but what directory is that? Would that be in the folder called "Protected Content"? Looks like "Ringtone", "Image", and "Music" are the only sub-folders in there currently.

Meaning, after I take the time to put a target into the directory for "Shared folders" it has little more than short term memory. All the connection information is lost shortly after I stop using the app and go to reconnect when the data is needed. Is there a cure?

I think when I recieved the replacement phone, I forgot un unmount the SD card from the old phone.When I plug the phone into my computer, I see that photos are stored in the DCIM folder for both the E: drive Removable disk and in K: drive MOT. Why is this? Should I drag the photos from K: over to E: ?Also, I am using Quickpic as a gallery viewer so I can store the photos in folders.

I was trying to find a way to move the pictures to the SD card, but had no luck. I some how accidently deleted all of my camera pictures? View 2 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my phone's fingerprint scanner began acting up. It would think I was swiping my finger when, in reality, I wasn't and saying It couldn't identify my finger. After a couple restarts, the fingerprint scanner doesn't work at all.I decided to go the route of a factory reset through the android recovery mode and wiped the data. After this, I select reboot now and all I get is a black screen with the green status LED stuck on.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just got my phone three days ago. It is rooted. I attempted downloading an app called beats audio installer. Everything looked like it installed correctly, but upon rebooting, my phone remains stuck on the motorola logo. I have tried forcing it to power off, but upon turning it back on, it stays stuck on the m logo. I have tried recovery mode, even wiped all my data off hoping to remove the corrupt file, (I have everything backed up). Nothing. I've already gone through the menus, to fastboot it, reboot it, or reset it. Anything I select results in the black screen with the motorola logo.

So I hit update. about a minute later the screen went black and the motorola symbol popped up in the middle...than in the upper left corner it says Failed to boot 2 starting RSD mode......It will not do anything. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm completely stock. Never unlocked any bootloaders or flash anything that messed with the system. I used the Motorola Update software to check for new update and install it. After a reboot, my phone displays the following message "Failed to boot 4" and I can't get the phone to get out of it. The only way I can turn the phone off is with a battery pull. I was on a stock 1.8.3 before this mess. What can I do? Is this a bug in the OTA update?

When I got it, after doing a factory reset thing, things were fine. But a few hours later after starting up I started to get this message:

Failed to boot 0x1000
Entering NVFlash Recovery Mode
It appears for 2 seconds and then it's gone. I can't seem to do a hard reset; holding any of the volume buttons with the power button to turn it on just gives me this same message.
First let me say that I have done a search and I have read the threads that are the exact same issue as mine. The difference is that I have no idea what to actually do about my phone. Background - when gingerbread pushed to my phone something went wrong (although it was plugged in at the time) and basically my phone reboot itself in the middle of the install. The phone no longer works. When this happened (a few months ago) I had to have a phone immediately as I was heading out of town for a few days and had to have a phone to be able to get in touch with my pregnant wife if need be.Needless to say this is now my "backup" phone that is 10x better than the current phone I am using and I would really like to get it fixed somehow.
I have tried RSD lite. I have tried the motorola software update program. I have tried using the factory cable that was sent in the box. I cannot get the phone to recognize via usb so I cannot move a software to the micro usb card.I cannot access any of the options for the "no os detected" screen that appears. Most of them say that the battery is too low to flash.

It isn't even monthly. It's just occasional.So how can I stop the Motohelper software from loading every time I start my computer? Is there a way to just start it when I need it? Turn it off when I don't need it?

I restored the phone a couple times but I didn't help at all, i even went to AT&T but the guys couldn't help me much but they tried to. After showing this error my phone switch off. Its happened when I try to update my phone to gingerbread.
When using the bundled music player my music will stop playing approx 1 minute after the screen turns off. I do not run any app killers so I know that isn't the problem, also if I use a different music player (like google music) this problem doesn't occur.
I have had this problem for a while and I fixed it just by using another music player, however recently I got a FM transmitter for my car and its buttons seem to interface with the built in music player.
I have photos stored on my pc. I cant seem to transfer them to my iphone.

When i take photos from the camera, some photos randomly becoming like panoramas...like titles (happens 1 out 50 captures : single photo gets broken out into multiple tiles and rearranging them in a random order)and i am not able to revert it back to what the photo originally was, Touch screen gets frozen Out(unresponsive) at times...currently i am just pressing the power button twice to over come this problem, When the phone is in the pocket and you are connected to the headset...if a call comes then screen is getting unlocked ..even though you are using hands free(wired in my case) for answering that call.. and options like loud speaker or other things getting pressed in the pocket... the dolution that i found out is adding another lock to the default android lock would solve this.

In the 1st week of March, all the photos stored on my neo phone disappeared all of a sudden. I do not see them in the DCIM folder as well. I have seen in many andriod forums that other andriod phone users had also this problem. If there is a way I could get back my old photos.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen having the camera save photos to the internal memory, or the SD card, then connecting the phone in MTP USB mode to get the files , the timestamps on the photos are incorrect. I'll take a picture at 5:00PM or something and the file is modified at 3AM etc.
I just took a photo saved to the SD card at 8:49AM and the timestamp is 3:49PM.
If I email a photo from my Camera Roll, it opens up fine on the PC. If I connect the phone to my PC via USB, though, whether I choose USB Mass Storage, or Windows Media Sync, I can't get the valid photo files transferred it seems. The transferred files would be "invalid" to open on my PC running Windows 7. If I choose Windows Media Sync, and then use Windows Media Center to Import the files, it would always get stuck at ~45% completion. The imported files can be opened, but then the rest somehow can't even be transferred.
I used to have data and device encryption on. I turned both off when I found out about this problem, but the same issues remain.
Is there a way to change the pictures that are displayed when Gallery is launched at its main menu? The pictures which are being displayed when I open gallery are old uninteresting photographs and I would love to be able to change it to show either the most recent photos or photos that I select.
