selling 3gs tonight Ive read all the posts about the best way to prepare. cant I simply erase my email, notes etc and then give it to him.
when he syncs i know it will erase the apps pics etc but will it erase the base band unlock and hte jb itself?
Or should i restore to 3.1.2 an re jb/reunlock and then make sure i don't restore from backup then when he syncs even though it has cydia on it already it will still be a new phone according to his itunes when he syncs?
What is the deal wiht my baseband. im still on 07 something. if i just do a restore from my saved 3.1.2 on pc that wont affect my baseband since i never upgraded. so am i good?

Hi Folks - I have some ideas, but I'd like to get opinions on how to best use mine and my girlfriend's iPhones while we are in Europe for a few weeks. (Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland)
What we have:
GF: iPhone 3G / 8GB | 3.1.2, Jailbroken, not unlocked. 4.26.08 baseband
Me: iPhone 3GS / 32GB | 3.1.2, Jailbroken, tethered, not unlocked, 5.11.07 baseband
What I would like to do: (Other suggestions welcome!)
Instead of getting raped by AT&T, I would like to buy a pay-as-you-go or other local SIM for each phone, so she and I can talk for free to each other, and still make calls locally & back home. I'd also like some sort of data plan that's reasonable while we're there.
Other ideas:
1. leave iPhones at home and buy prepaid Euro phones?
2. Use an AT&T International program?

I can't download the iOS software update on my 3G. it starats the download and then starts to prepare the update but then says an error has occurred with update and has the option to closse or click on settings and when i click on the settings it goes right back to the original screen of the download and install screen. I have tried to download this update numerous times now

Restored my iPhone to sell it today. My SIM was still in the phone when I did the restore and after it restored and restarted it still had my number when I clicked on "iPhone" in iTunes. Even without the SIM it still reads my number, is this because the phone was automatically activated with the SIM in it after the restore?
Will I be ok as long as I take the SIM out?

I'm prepping my 3GS for selling. I just did:
1) Erase all content and settings.
2) Then I put it in DFU mode, and restored to 3.1.3 (the only SHSH I have on file).
3) Then I jailbroke with spirit.
4) Then I ran the spirit2pwn hack.
5) Then I restored to a custom pwned 4.0 firmware.
6) Then when it was done, the iphone screen says "iPhone is now activated", and on the computer I was at the screen to set up as a new phone or restore from backup.
7) I do neither of those things and then unplug the phone from the computer. Loaded up cydia and installed ultrasn0w.
8) Rebooted the device.
9) On the iPhone, went into settings -> General -> Store, and logged out of my iTunes account. (Don't know why it was even logged into that)
Am I all set to sell it? And how had it gotten logged into my iTunes if I never set up the phone? Maybe when it "activated" it does?

I sold my iPhone4 to stay with my 3GS. ATT said I need to get a new sim to keep my 3GS since I had to activate my iPhone4 which wiped out my old sim. Do I ship the iPhone4 with the micro-sim or no?

I've got a 32gb 3GS, which is jailbroken. It's version 3.1.2 with a modem firmware of 05.11.07It's been jailbroken with Blackra1n but not unlocked (no need).. I've got a new phone now and would like to sell this as a jailbroken phone. Is there a method I can use to clean the phone of all my data but not lose the jailbreak?

ive reserved a full price unlocked iPhone in regent street in Londnn for pickup 24 june.
got my reservation mail from apple.now my question: will they sell to foreigners(i'm from Belgium and it's only 2 hours with the eurostar)ive read on forums because it's an unlocked full price iphone you don't have to show a UK ID or have to prove you live in the UK etc. to buy it.

I tried to set up an e-mail account on my curve 8520. It just donīt work although i even visited a shop of my cell phone provider Normally according to the product information book you should have the choice to choose between to create or add an email address or to use the enterprise server. But at my phone, there just appears alternative 2, so the enterprise server, which i do not need!I already tried a software-update but i already have the newest software on my cell phone.

I am trying to upgrade my X10 from software version 1.6 to 2.1.First of all I think it's very annoying that there are 2 different applications from Sony Ericsson called Update Service and PC Companion. Why not just have 1 application and make it less complicated for the users.However I first tried with Update Service, but it keeps telling me that my software is up to date and all I can choose then is "Exit". There are no settings and nothing else you can do.
Then I tried with PC Companion which detects that there is a new software update available for my phone and when I try to upgrade it fails on preparing the computer for software upgrade, see picture.

So I'm planning on selling my 16 GB iPhone 3GS on eBay, but unlocking or jail breaking it before I do so. I'm looking to upgrade to the new iPhone 4, even though I don't qualify for the $199 price. Each time I try and sync my iPhone it gives me an error message that says "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone because the iPhone disconnected" What is going on here? Backed up phone restored software, etc. Nothing is fixing the issue.

Now this is speaking from a DEVELOPER point of view. Would you like to see iPhone exclusivity stop? To me, yes, obviously, because this means the App Store can be in more hands, and my apps can have a MUCH larger audience. Yes I know there is a lot of market share already, but look at VZW, T-Mob etc and if we got their eyes on our apps. you should be able to fill in the rest. What do you think from a developer point of view?

I have Windows 7 installed and have seriously tried everything to fix this, deleting old back ups, cheacking my firewall, unintalling and reinstalling itunes, deleting pictures that may be corrupt. I just plugged my phone into a USB connected to my sisters MacBook and it backed up perfectly! Is this something wrong with my computer?
