BB Curve :: Can't Prepare An Email Account On 8520
Mar 7, 2011
I tried to set up an e-mail account on my curve 8520. It just dont work although i even visited a shop of my cell phone provider Normally according to the product information book you should have the choice to choose between to create or add an email address or to use the enterprise server. But at my phone, there just appears alternative 2, so the enterprise server, which i do not need!I already tried a software-update but i already have the newest software on my cell phone.
Got my BB curve 8025 at the weekend and have encounted afew things i didnt understand serched the net and found this site which as been a god send! I'm trying to set up email but atm its only giving me the option for setting up work email account with a BB enterprise server - I just want to set up a normal email account using my normal hotmail account but i cant get any further along as it asks for my enterprise activation password - which i obviously dont have?
Also - a few friend have gien me their pin so i can add them on BBM, i type the pin and it says contact pending but the person/s im trying to add get no notification that i'm trying to add them - we try it the other way with me giving them my pin and get the same result WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
I live in Panama, and I use Telefonica services.Currently I have two accounts already set up on my phone, one is hotmail and the other of my university where I live.I want to add a new email account at Setup-Email Settings and it send me to the page = if you want to access your email settings or you changed your device log in. how can I add a new email account?
When I access Setup Wizard, and setup an email, the only option I see is Enterprise Email Setup but there is no option for personal email setup (the later is wanted).
I set up my earthlink.net account on my phone so I could send one pic to my PC and now I cannot get it off! I cannot find any option on my Curve to set up an email account. I deleted my login and password for my email account on my phone; I deleted the CIMIME from the Service Book and deleted something called BIS 5 from somewhere. I'm still getting emails on my phone. I sync my calendar with Outlook and the same email address so I haven't gotten rid of CICAL in the Service Book.
I just got back home from a trip to dubai in dubai my email was working fine. Now I put in my German sim card and wanted to add my email address again and it keeps saying device encountered a problem with this application's server. I have a Curve 8520.
When I first got it, about nine months ago, I set up my two email accounts and they worked perfectly. Then, some weeks ago I stopped receiving emails and I couldn't send either. I ended up removing both email accounts and then I set up one of them, tried it and it worked. Then I went and tried to set up the second one but I haven't been able to do so since.I go to Setup > Email Settings > Add > Gmail (the account I want to set up is on Gmail). I write the correct email address and password and click on Next, it says it's "Processing, prease wait..." and then every time it says "Update Failed".
I've tried also choosing Other instead of Gmail when trying to add the second account but at the end it gives me the same error, "Update Failed". have the BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.4.0 and I've looked there for an option to try and set up my second email account through the software but there just seems not to be such an option.'ve never had any other problem when it comes to the email or the internet connection in general.'ve been looking for a solution in the forum but I haven't found anything.
attempting to setup my email on my replacement Curve 8520 after the track pad ceased working.Problem is, I only get one option: "I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server"This being my third Curve 8520 in less than two years, the first two rebelling with track pad failures, Android's sounding better and better.
I cannot create an personal email account on my Blackberry Curve 8520.I've already followed some of the instructions from this forum and on the main website of Blackberry but still can't create an email account for my phone. These are the steps I'm doing when I'm trying to create and email. From the home screen, go to Setup. Click Setup Wizard.Click Email Setup. But when I'm in the email setup, the only option I have is the "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server.I don't have the option of "I want to create or add an email address. Now, how can I create a personal email account on my phone?
I have deleted my configured e-mail from my blackberry 8520 curve but I don't know how to remove e-mail messages which is still reflecting in the message icon at the main screen.
I bought a Curve 8520 today, and I want to set it up to access my existing AOL email account. Is this possible? How do I do it? and why do I keep being asked for an Enterprise Server password/code - what is it and where do I find it. Also, while we're getting all techy, my son has a curve and he has fb, twitter yahoo etc on his download icon, but I don't.
I got my first BB (8520) two weeks ago, and I still have not managed to get the email and MMS setup. If I go to messages, there is only SMS and email, no MMS options.. And when I try to set the email there is only the Enterprise option, I wanna set it up with my gmail.
I am unable to receive any picture messages?? I am also unable to set up a personal email account through blackberry its only giving me the option of a works email??
just deleted an old email account and set up a new one on device. however all the old contacts remain. how do i get rid of them. they only go if i delete email account but once i set up a new account the old contacts appear. theres too many i want to delete them.
I have a 8520 and recently updated my software. After I did this my email envelope has disappeared. I have replaced my original settings and nothing. I do receive emails but in the general message envelope.
I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.
I've just got a Blackberry Curve 8520. I'm trying to link my email account to the phone but it won't let me. I've gone into email settings and put in my hotmail.co.uk address and my password but I just keep getting a message saying Invalid email address or password. I know both are correct as I am able to use the account on a computer. It just won't let me use it on the phone.
My colleague had a blackberry curve 8900 and this was then passed to me as he left the company. My sim works in the phone fine but I am unable to set up my email as it says there is one already set up. Im no longer in contact with my colleague and not sure what to do. Is there any way of renewing this? When I go to email setup it doesnt have the option of create new email.
Unable to receive incoming email to 1 email account on BB Curve 9330. tried several times Sprint support on phone and at store. Able to send emails from that email but it shows only on desktop. Other email accounts are running just fine.
Anyone else having Yahoo sync issues on their device? It seems like the last week when I delete messages from my Yahoo account that change does not sync with my 8530. However messages send and receive on the device.
I used a Storm for the last 30 days, and had 3 distinct and separate icons: Messages - catchall for everything Desktop email icon 2nd/personal email icon However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?
How do I backup or copy an email account or individual emails from a former employer on my iPhone 5s. I can open the emails, but don't have access to the server - just messages on iPhone.
My boss would like to forward his work emails to his personal email account. Is this something he can do on his own?Can someone provide setup instructions?
i cannot add another email account when i go to email set up it tells me 'if you want to access your email settings or you changed your device, log in.' it doesnt give me the option to add another account.
Lets say if I have a new email i would like to use and would like to delete the old one off my iphone but it has all of my contacts on it, how do i transfer those contacts, notes, and calendars, to the new email account?
keep in mind that if i delete the email acount with the contacts, the contacts will no longer be on my phone as well as the notes. is there a way for me to transfer the contacts from the old email account to the new one so i can remove the old email account? too much spam.
I'm trying to set up a yahoo email account on a Curve 8900 running OS 4, but when I go to Setup and Email Settings, all I get is the message "Your device had a problem connecting to the server". I'm based in Ireland and have eircom broadband. My wireless router is a Netopia with WEP encryption but no authentication (Open security).
I recently changed my primary e-mail acct from AOL to GMAIL. I wanted to change the password for AOL on my Curve 8530 and when it asked me to verify it kept telling me my password is invalid. Tried deleting & adding AOL back ... still getting the "password invalid" message.
