im trying to update my phone it gets to the bit with all the pictures when ou have to disconnect and re connect it whilst holding the back button i've tried doing this many many times but it goes back on normally and come up with the mount sdcard thing on my computer
View 1 RepliesI can't download the iOS software update on my 3G. it starats the download and then starts to prepare the update but then says an error has occurred with update and has the option to closse or click on settings and when i click on the settings it goes right back to the original screen of the download and install screen. I have tried to download this update numerous times now

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to upgrade my X10 from software version 1.6 to 2.1.First of all I think it's very annoying that there are 2 different applications from Sony Ericsson called Update Service and PC Companion. Why not just have 1 application and make it less complicated for the users.However I first tried with Update Service, but it keeps telling me that my software is up to date and all I can choose then is "Exit". There are no settings and nothing else you can do.
Then I tried with PC Companion which detects that there is a new software update available for my phone and when I try to upgrade it fails on preparing the computer for software upgrade, see picture.

when he syncs i know it will erase the apps pics etc but will it erase the base band unlock and hte jb itself?
Or should i restore to 3.1.2 an re jb/reunlock and then make sure i don't restore from backup then when he syncs even though it has cydia on it already it will still be a new phone according to his itunes when he syncs?
What is the deal wiht my baseband. im still on 07 something. if i just do a restore from my saved 3.1.2 on pc that wont affect my baseband since i never upgraded. so am i good?

Me: iPhone 3GS / 32GB | 3.1.2, Jailbroken, tethered, not unlocked, 5.11.07 baseband
What I would like to do: (Other suggestions welcome!)
Instead of getting raped by AT&T, I would like to buy a pay-as-you-go or other local SIM for each phone, so she and I can talk for free to each other, and still make calls locally & back home. I'd also like some sort of data plan that's reasonable while we're there.
Other ideas:
1. leave iPhones at home and buy prepaid Euro phones?
2. Use an AT&T International program?
2 days ago I received my lollipop update, HK version and it screwed something up. Before that my battery was more than ok, it would charge fully, play the fully charged sound and stuff... But after that update it doesn't go past 92% while leaving it to charge overnight, almost 8 hours to be exact.

When i reboot it again the same thing happens it cant get past the SE logo screen... obviously ive wiped the firmware off it completely but i dont know how to flash it back on ive tryed to use "update service" but it cant find any software updates and i cant use pc companion because it wanting me to have my phone working to connect it

But I can't go past the plug the cable and hold the back button. I tried both the companion and the update service but I can't go past the plug in and press back buttons. If I hold it for a longer period of time, the phone just turns back on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEarlier today after I woke up, I was just gonna check something on my phone, when I was met with several errors saying that this and that programmed had stopped working. I chose the option "ok" on all of them because the other option report would not really get me anywhere. The thing was these errors kept coming repeating themselves (same apps getting errors repeatedly).
So after 10 min of just pressing ok on these errors I decided to reboot my phone, but when I came to the startup it stops/freezes on the SONY EXPERIA display. I can't trun it off with the on/off button, so I searched everywhere on the internet about this issue but none of the classic hold volume down + volume up + on/off button to turn it off gets me past the freeze after it goes off.
Why cant I update to 5.1? It says an error has occured when it get to the updating firmware stage of the update. What can I do to restore my phone?

I downloaded a free Ringtone app from the app store and I cannot figure out how to get the app in the ringtone section of the setting so i can change the ringtone. i also put a song on the phone from iTunes to see if that would work and i just cant figure it out. I find it really dumb that Apple made it almost impossible to get a custom ring tone unless your purchase it.
