Sep 11, 2014My Mum gave me her old iPhone 4S. I've never had a smart phone before so I am new to all this. I want to update the OS (my mum won't have updated ui it since buying it) but I can't see any software update section under settings/general. It just isn't there.Â

Dec 11, 2011I have a Motorola Atrix 4g on the Telstra Network (Australia). I recently updated from Android 2.3.2 to 2.3.4. Since then some of the settings in the Camera app have disappeared. The manual says the options available in the camera settings should be: Picture Res, Video Res, Exposure, Review Time, Shutter Tone and Storage Location, which were all present when I first got the phone. But since the update, only pic res, vid res, exposure, storage location are available. I have tried clearing the camera apps data and cache, but no changes.

Apr 11, 2011I've only just discovered the E63 and purchased one. The phone seems pretty nifty, not that I need all those bells and whistles. I'm having a problem with the MMS, GPRS / WAP settings for Optus Prepaid. When I popped in my sim card when first turning the phone on, I was automatically sent these 'settings'. I was able to find my way onto the Ovi store and downloaded a few themes, so it must have been working. Now, it won't connect at all, less than two days later.
I've been exploring the phone, but I haven't fiddled with any of the internet settings, nor MMS. I've contacted Optus and awaiting a reply, and have been onto the Zoo website to send myself the settings, but the phone won't recognise them and the settings pop up as a text message that the phone is telling me I cannot open, and there is no option to save them.

Nokia :: E72-2 NAM Update / Check For Update On Site
Mar 13, 20102 days ago I checked to see if there has been an update on my E72-2 NAM. I checked through my device and also on the "Check for update" on the Nokia site. Both said that there was an update. My present V is 021.024 and the new V is 022.007. Then I read through the postings to see if anyone had tried the new Version. This morning I checked on my device and I was told that there was no update available, but it was still available on the Nokia site.I am a bit scared to attempt an update normally but even more so now.
Does this mean that Nokia has taken the update back because of problems with it?I need some advice on this. My present Version doesn't seem to be giving me any problems, Maybe because I am not a power user.

May 17, 2012I recently had my iPhone (4, 16GB, GSM from AT&T) unlocked (by AT&T, and saw confirmation in iTunes). I am now using a prepaid carrier, and needed to change my APN settings for there system, however the APN settings are not available in the phone (Settings >> General >> Network), the only option I have is Cellular Data (on/off). I wound up using unlockit to load an APN profile for my carrier, home come if the phone is unlocked we cannot change the APN settings (something we need to do in order to use data on ohter carriers)? AT&T unlocked the iPhone for me but all the settings still point to AT&T unless I use alternative means.
I did not know if I was mising something or if this feature is not enabling properly on unlocked devices, or what was happening, I was hoping maybe some other people have figured out how to make this option show, or if they have not maybe Apple or AT&T need to see that the Ulocked devices are not able to change data settigns from AT&T settings, I am not sure what is happening, but I would like to fix it (hopefully, or at least make it noted that it is a problem).
I have tried Reloading iOS from iTunes (recovery) and that pops up the Message "Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked" in iTunes, but I do not see the APN settings, I do not want to Jailbreak the iPone and I should not have to since I have it unlocked, I just want to be able to change the settings to allow other carrier data plans.

Mar 30, 2010When I got my phone all the tethering stuff was in place as normal.. I tried it out on my mac and it worked great.. Then my phone crashed, got it running good to go now.. So the other night I needed internet, go into settings, turn ON tethering.. Open macbook, wait, nothing.. go back into settings on my iPhone and there is no longer anything left even related to tethering.. GONE!
So where did it go and how can I get it back is what I am wondering? 3.1.2j, telus network Canada, originally at&t.
Also, is there a way to force a carrier update? When I got one the first time it didnt show me the cellular data network settings, after the reset of the phone thats there and I had to enter in the information all manually for MMS, internet, etc.friggin problems.. nothing ever wants to work right.
IPhone :: Siri Settings Tab Is Missing?
May 10, 2012I turned Siri off about a month and a half ago after it eating my battery away, but I thought it was time to start using it again. I went to the general tab to find my Siri is missing. Below is a picture to prove it.
And here is a shot of the Location Services to show that I do indeed own a 4S.
I will probably do a reset/restore tonight some time, but I just wanted to know if this is a known problem or bug.

IPhone :: Settings Icon Is Missing On It?
May 19, 2012My "Settings" icon disappeared from my iPhone yesterday. I was able to find it using the search function (swipe left from the home screen), but the idon was completely gone.
After checking all my app folders to no avail, I plugged my iPhone into my Mac. In iTunes, I selected the phone in the left column and then selected "Apps" from the horizontal bar across the top of the settings. From there, I could re-arrange the icons on my iPhone.
My Settings icon was there, hiding out on the very last page if icons, all by itself. It had apparently been relegated there (not by me, I know that for sure). I was able to move it back to my home screen and now everything is OK.
